Am I reading this correct -- essentially you have paid for 8 batches but only have 7 orders, due to a mix-up with payment on the 8th batch?
Yes, exactly that Sad

This sounds terrible and certainly not your fault! It is a real shame Avalon can't (or rather won't) correct this.
Well, this sub-forum is full of folks posting their problems with Avalon publicly as their last resort, and even this does not motivate them to respond. This is far beyond 'zero support' and it is a pity to see how such a bunch of excellent engineers succeeded to destroy their reputation by letting their customers / investors down in such a rude and arrogant way.

As someone who was sending you recent mining proceeds for chips I certainly hope it wasn't my payment that screwed it up!  Sad

You have done an excellent job with the chip distribution so far, thank you for your work here.

I don't remember which payment it was and it is not important at all. It was my mistake to forward all the collected coins to Avalon without prior checking that all payments are confirmed (I would have expected MyWallet to warn me about that problem, though). One more time learned the hard way, sadly this was an expensive one.

that is incredible,

avalon star is sinking fast. i am engaged in avalon batch 3 group buy and your avalon chip group buy batch 7. approx. 8 k € is only a fraction of your batch 8 problem, but still is a mess.

i suggest if avalon is not responding correctly, the loss at batch 8 should be devided up within the other batches. i would be willing to donate my share.

edit: i had several issues with probable loss at exchanges, but it got sorted

the community should try to stick together to avoid terrible losses to individuals. we all - more or less - profited in this game so far. why not give some back ?

You got it wrong: they are not after the money - they want to fight centralization and do the community a favor. At least that's what I read somewhere.

And get funding money for his tablet device Wink

I find that whole situation totally ridiculous on BitSynCom's part. $78,000 is no small amount of money. And no support doesn't mean take your money and then totally ignore you.

I understand they don't want to provide technical support for the chips, but that certainly doesn't mean they can take money and then not communicate in any way about sales orders. When I saw the conference video of Yifu he didn't strike me as that kind of guy, but I have to wonder now.

You can hardly take at face value his talk about "the community" and supporting Bitcoin when he completely ignores a customer who sent almost $1 million his way for chips. Doesn't that make you question what's going on over there? I mean, WTF?

Its really sad. Yifu seems like a standup guy. And he's now rich. And yet there are people who still haven't received their batch 1 avalons. I mean for god's sake, hire some people to do support.

It is hard to stay calm in this situation, but in our best interest I'll refrain from escalating this until the chip deal is finalized.

I documented my failure here, the tl;dr-version is like this: one single payment for chips came from a freshly mined block, causing the payment being delayed. When the coins finally made it into Avalon's wallet, exceeding the payment window (8h) their order system cancelled that order meanwhile. That's where I am now: coins gone and no active order for batch 8.

I tried to get in contact with team Avalon at any way I could think of for six weeks now - no single answer so far. No wonder, I agreed to get zero support when ordered Sad  In effect, all buybacks I have processed so far are nothing compared to the lack of a full batch.

Bottom line: there won't be additional chips available from this group-buy. I am sorry, but hope you understand.

Thanks for the update.  The pm's sure are flying. 50% unassigned is terrible, lets get posting supporters, lots of good work being done here.

Clarification: Availability of Additional Chips
I am regularly asked if there are some chips left for sale from buy-backs / refunds. In the light of the upcoming competition, I expected to process more refund-requests and therefore indicated a potential availability in the future. With actual refund volumes a magnitude lower than expected, I now am sure to state that there will be no additional chips available from me.

Several people were concerned how to interpret my previous statement that 'I oversold chips', that I want to clarify herein. This is what happened: I personally participated in this group buy and in each batch paid for a portion of chips to build up a strategic reserve (support of open source projects and self-mining). After closing the order window, I ordered a final 8th batch to close the gap between the reserve target and what has been actually sold. That's where shit happened.

Can we see an updated dev. chip list.  Waiting to see who still needs some help in grabbing chips...

Thank you.

Well, since only 3 more buyers declared their support after the last update, there's not much of a relevant movement:

Any updates on the sample chips ? According to Yifu on the conference they should be out by now.
This will be announced as fast as possible. With the numerous other (group-)buys awaiting them impatiently, this will be the hottest topic at the day it happens, no chance to miss it.
