What is your explanation about this edit? what is "the meaning" of this post (original) and why it doesn't appear modified?

Actually I don't want to guess why Hhamadi posted like that in the bounty thread but somehow I'm a little interested to know. The post looks like an announcement about who is accepted as a bounty participant which is usually done by the manager. Do you think Hhamadi is the alt of the bounty manager? I can't find any other reason right now why such a post exists. This is a provisional guess.

I'm not going to guess why bounty spammers do things, but I can explain the editing: the forum only shows a post as "edited" if it's edited more than 10 minutes after it's creation. Anything faster than that is meant to fix typos, and unlike later edits, the forum doesn't store the unedited post in this case. Only Admins can see edits anyway.

This is annoying: user karbomike posted this:
Hey guys i have recently found my old harddrive down in my basement and when I opened it I managed to find a folder with alot of videos photos and personal files and I managed to find something very valuable. My fathers wallet was in my personal files because back then we only had 1 computer which was shared among our family. My father sadly passed away in 2017 and the wallet has fallen into my hands and it has alot of bitcoin in it (I won't disclose how much bitcoin, but it's REALLY valuable). I have let the wallet sync for about 2 1/2 weeks now and sadly its stuck at 88% and doesn't seem like it wants to move, any Idea on what I should do?

The wallet is MultiBit HD
I have the information such as the seed and passcode.

I hope I can get some help from here.
The post is about MultiBit, but the title is "Bitcoin found in old harddrive for Bitcoin Core". That doesn't make sense.
Then, 12 hours and 4 replies later, he edits his post to add this:
Google can find the phrase "My fathers wallet was in my personal files because back" posted on 4 different domains and several Reddit threads in the last day.

I've reported the topic, but I hope this isn't going to catch on with spammers! Stay vigilant Smiley
Update: He's Nuked already.

I'm sometimes known as "miniadmin"
After seeing a bunch of "good project" like posts in patrol on a single thread, I decided to take a closer look. Last 10 pages aprox are full of shitty one-liners, and the previous ones are not looking good either. There's a few posts of "high ranking" members over there too, but most accounts are old and most likely hacked or sold (they have GIF avatars...).

As a future reference; I'd check the rule list in case of doubt. For this particular case, rule 11

is this ok? this dude DPR_lives is advertising a website that sells illegal items including child pornography. I am all for people being able to advertise their project(or whatever it is) but I draw the line when it comes to child pornography. I hope the mods agree with me.

Hey everyone.  There is a new forum that sort of combines the Silk Road, Craigslist, and Backpage sites into one.  Basically, just sign up and post your product.  Transactions are conducted via cryptocurrency of course, and offline between the seller and buyer through their anonymous email accounts so there is minimum information logged on the server. You can buy drugs, hacking tools, stolen software licenses, child nudism vids (cp too), and other things.  Check it out.

edit: the threads were quickly deleted after being reported and the account is banned. thanks!

at least I  learned that if a user was nuked without the posts being deleted first, all the reported posts from that user will become unhandled.
All my 6 reports have been marked as Good.
Normally when a reported post is deleted the report should be automatically marked as Good. Or at least this should be the expected behavior
yeah, I guess that's what really happens. I just checked my reports again after logging in and it is all marked good now(my bad on quickly going to conclusions). anyway, I'm glad mods were able to take action quickly after being reported. I am pretty that the user would have posted more if ignored.

Today, I reported a post made by goldpattern and asked moderators to nuke him/her.
To see how status of reports is displayed if the user is nuked, I reported his/her other posts as well.
As shown in the modlog, three posts were deleted and then the user was nuked.

All my 6 reports have been marked as Good.

great! thanks for updating. I also reported most of the user's posts after creating my first post about the user but now instead of my report being marked good, it is all marked unhandled. haha. anyway, at least I  learned that if a user was nuked without the posts being deleted first, all the reported posts from that user will become unhandled.

is action needed against this user pechtalker? this user just created the account today and immediately started spamming "timingswap" on bitcoin discussion board by copy-pasting the same post over and over again(most likely their project) on several threads. the user also created a thread basically saying the same thing.

It looks like rugrats was sold/hacked. The user's email address and password were changed recently,
How did you find out the user's email address has been changed? Security log doesn't show email changes at all. It only reports password changes. Am I missing something here?
BPIP (which also uses seclog for exporting the data) doesn't show any email changes.

It looks like rugrats was sold/hacked. The user's email address and password were changed recently, and he turned into a shitposter spamming his signature:
We have to remove us to prevent scams on this forum, it is possible to report to moderators on this topic which is not true. I have seen a lot of topics reported like this and it is something we need to take immediate action against those who are acting suspiciously. damn if I killed people without committing a crime, I would have killed those bad guys. that's why we should all be on the lookout for sophisticated scams on our forums.

@mods that are following this thread.

Yesterday I reported low value thread called 7 crypto acronyms you need to know as it was just a copy/paste of an article without providing any personal opinion. Report has been marked as good, but it's still there so I guess that you just forgot to delete it. Looking at @Nathrixxx seems like that is his MO, and more of a rule than an exception.
