Yeah, I know that's a thing, same used to happen in some signature campaigns; but what bothered me was it was exclusively happening in that thread, not in several ones. Maybe I'm being overly paranoid

It seems that, they make empty posts first and edit them after a while.
Maybe, they are reserving posts.

I've been seeing a lot of empty bounty reports on the same thread today, example below:

I've reported them as "advertising/spam".

is this spam or scam attempt? this dude has posted the same link about "How To Become Millionaire From $1 Via Mining Cryptocurrencies Within 90 Days Tip" to three different boards. I was not sure what to put accurately on "report to moderator" I thought you guys might have a more accurate idea what to do.

During the last days, I had a weird but strong feeling I was reporting posts I had already reported before, but since they were removed by the mods, I couldn't double-check.

Yesterday, I reported 13 posts from ValerieChristaldi.
All posts made by this user include links to a certain website.



As displayed in the image above, 8 of those posts were deleted and 5 of them were not affected although all of my reports have been marked as good.
Those 5 posts haven't been deleted, probably because they were topics starter and there are many other posts made by other users in those threads. I expected those threads to be locked at least. But they were not.

The user paid no attention to deleted posts and created 4 more posts with links to that website today.

TOP 5 FOR TODAY. Found back my lust for reporting and wanted to share some low-quality profiles.

1. Presenting Santri, arrived on these boards around the same time as me, but he never really was in it for the Merits. Santri publishes posts to let people know he won't bother to post about the topic since others have done so already.



2. Number two today is the one and only piebeyb, for whom Merits have never been a real priority either, have they? At least, not in the last 120 days. Piebeyb loves predicting prices, like in this post, this post, and that one and over here. Oh, and here's - some - more - predictions.

And that's just from the last 7 days.

Nonetheless, even though he predicts a lot, in the end he remains a beacon of self-knowledge:



3. Here's a shared third place for all one/two-phrase shitposters out there who have discovered the
advantages of the Return key, which is by some people as well as some humans also named or even
called the Enter key which is used as a function on your keyboard to add a new line to your phrase
and sometimes even to your wordings, which probably is the same thing as a phrase but that doesn't
really matter, so where was I oh yes, I remember now, I was saying that using the Return key assures
that most if not probably many users of the forum, the boards as well as from the threads, topics
and different subjects and subboards, don't even bother to start to read more than three words or
in some cases maybe a bit more or sometimes even less, and don't notice you're in fact posting
COMPLETE, ABSOLUTE, PURE AND UTTER BULLSHIT WITHOUT ADDING ANY VALUE AT ALL.

5. Finally there's Salauddin1994 whose in-depth research has led him to find out that writing extremely long phrases without using any punctuation marks keeps the reporters away since it's in reality way too exhausting to decipher what you are trying to say people who are reading your post with the possible intention of reporting it already give up and don't even bother to try to read the first phrase of your post so basically you can post any kind of bullshit after that because no-one will invest a second longer of his time to try and decide if your post should be reported or not.


In case you were wondering, indeed I only read the first part of his post and just so you know: it seems Covid-19 has hurt the economy. Great addition, this guy.

Guess the report button is going to get a workout for a while.
I know there are mods to SMF that allow blocking of posts with certain phrases.
Makes you wonder if that would be a better way of playing whcak-a-mole.
Yes, they would just change the text in the posting bot. But, it might slow it down till they do.

Not surprising, with the bitcoin bull run which pushed the alt season awaking all those spammers/scammers hiding in the dark for the past few years are now coming back to light. I'll join the party after the new year. I guess then will be the spambusters' raffle as well

In less then 12 hours today. While actually getting work done and some food shopping and stuff around the house I reported 20 ethpill posts and 15 fake altcoin malware posts.
Is it getting that much worse or am I just noticing more?

Reported some other crap too, but I just don't remember the malware being this bad before.
