BREAKING: CRYPTO KINGDOM GOES GRAPHIC!!

Town map has looked like a tiling exercise for too long. Now, we have a new layer, which will be the default layer. It will consist of any jpg/png pixel images with 3:2 aspect ratio. They will scale automatically over the hidden grid that will still have the lot borders. Each chapelry will have their own image.

*gasp*

CK will never be the same again Cheesy but I guess that pretty much applies to any change!

The people with the skill and tools to make our chapelries look beautiful and informative (giving more exact guidance is worthless because if you know, you know exactly what you have been looking for all this time) please sign up to me with a sample image. Make the sample from a less urban area.

Quite soon we will have a faucet plugin, which can be installed to every lot, giving the players the incentive to roam around and thank the benefactors. Already, there is a freetext field which you can use to give information about your home or other place.

New Borough 22 Opens - - - after an epic challenge!

The land between Boroughs "Old Town" (1) and "San Pietro" (5) has been targeted for expansion for decades. It is good building ground, possibility to quarry stone, there is a valley in the middle and in the centre of it is the iconic King's Esplanade, the 30 m wide road leading from San Pietro to Old Town. The sides are more hilly, and might later become nice sites for hillside villas (at present there are no height differences so this will be the first one with naturally different elevation).

Previously this land has not been possible to be used due to the technical difficulty of mapping the elevations, and also we have not wanted to build too tight because of hygiene and other concerns. But this is changing...

The Challenge - Gain 1,000 S-B22 and the borough unlocks!

The Project B-22 is structured as a corporation. It will have some important rules:

- Gaining shares of this corporation happens in the way the Gamemaster sees fit, and 1 character at one time can usually gain only 1 or a few shares. The cost of gaining shares may be progressive, giving the edge to small players. (Very small players are not in the business of buying boroughs though...)
- Gains from the shares acquired go to Gamemaster defined places. Money gains tend to go to devfund. The corporation will gain little if any of the proceeds.
- During the year or opportunity when 1,000 shares total are gained, there will not be new shares, and the land will be given to the corporation, with the exception of possible impassable areas and the N-S area of King's Esplanade (30x300 m out of the total 450x300 m). It is planned that 1,000 shares will take 10 or more years to gain.
- The Corporation selects their governance model independently, and also decides what happens to the land, how it is divided among shareholders etc. It is unlikely that any faction will have total control of the company due to the way the shares are gained.
- The shares are free-trading and the Corp may organize itself already before the land is given.

Value of the land

Since the only place with connected boroughs is the area 1-22-5, it is right to say that the land is extremely, if not the most central.

Directly to the north of this, the latest land trade (TIE haw) was conducted at 1.4 mil/sqm. To the south (RT House), the price was 0.22/sqm. Both are for large plots of undeveloped land and rather long ago. This range would lead B.22 to be worth something between 22-140 billion m, from which it is possible to gauge the realistic price per share.

The Task of 1617

During the year 1617, every character may gain shares as follows:
50*SCI - 1 share
150*SCI - 2 shares
300*SCI - 3 shares
500*SCI - 4 shares
etc, with an additional share being always 50*SCI more expensive than the previous.

This is a rather flying start - it will become both slower and more expensive to gain them in the future. Only the characters up to 144 are allowed to participate (no sockpuppets to escape the progression please Wink )

Please: to make the manual conversion easier, consume only once per character. If you absolutely need to add to your already consumed amount, add 1*SCI to make it stand out.

This will be open for about 7 days, until something else for next year.

We're at the moment 10 shares short of putting up a Grizzly Brewery, assuming the lots function as I assume they do (which I'll have to make sure with gamemaster first before hasting to buy a license). If we are fortunate, there will still be a license to grab tomorrow then Smiley we shall see.

I already bought one for 370. It was added to my previous post, so you probably missed it. It's yours for the company if you want it.

Sounds great definitely! Talk to you tomorrow about it then probably.

Cool, but see only 10 shares are still available. If you read my prior post, I was hoping to acquire 20 shares and recoup the difference of 170mil from the purchase of the license with an additional 17 shares that I would sell @ 10mil on agora or for 170mil m. Is this OK?

Cryptonic expresses an interest in buying 10 shares of the GBB.

Year change to 1617 (1)

NPC, CON, Gold and Building dividends and taxes have been distributed and/or collected. (There was enough money for the gold dividend but since the script is slightly outdated, it was decided that the dividend is not paid now, rather increased by 1,000 next year.)

Mint has created new gold items:

CR1618E (80 minted)
CR1618B (2 CKG;  300 minted but excess will be destroyed - about 125 ordered). Since these have been distributed, buying S-CRB will not get you any more of these. Buy from the market instead!
CR1617A (11 minted from virgin gold and distributed randomly according to activity)

And silver items:

CS1617E. The bulk version - 300 minted - selling at silver spot. Excellent way to gain pure silver!

Is there timetable for Crypto Kingdom content translations more languages?

CK internal structure is that it is a database with a quite elaborate layer of commands and API methods covering it from every side, being the way to access it even for most of the "internal stuff" like year changes.

These allow people who want to build user interfaces, to build what they want. It can be likened to cryptocurrency software - cryptocurrency wallet separation. The software is same for all, but it will soon be possible to practically build different interfaces on top of it, starting all the way from the authentication, going all the way to more advanced marketplaces and casinos, or 3-D FPS games.

As for your literal question, I am not too hurry to have the game translated, because I value everybody being able to communicate. (I only started English myself when 10 years old). But since it is both possible and lawful to translate it, I am sure they will emerge when the game is bigger. I'd say in 12 months we will likely have CK in Chinese or Russian.

170mil m.

"mil" is a special expression coined in CK, and it intrinsically means "million m". It is not possible to have "mil" of anything else because the abbreviation includes the unit, "m". The usage started quite early in the Kingdom when it became customary to buy and sell things and quote their prices. We wanted to make separation from "XMR", because that is out of game currency, while "mil" is ingame. So with only 3 letters, you can skip the zeroes and specify if you are seeking in- or out-of-game payment. (Now since we have withdrawal, seeking XMR payment is not too frequent)

The Grizzly Bear Brewery is seeking for investors

The lot is my concern here as the cheapest 1200 lot size listed is three connected lots in borough 4 at a little under 150mil--with moo's building estimate of 200mil and the current cost of a license at 400mil--the total is 750mil. I'll buy the license at 400mil which can be converted to shares once the shares are created (I'd GIVE it to sysky then), but think it would be wise to dole out the rest of the shares based on an estimate of at least 350mil in further cost--though a lot donor with a low tax base would be ideal as any upfront costs would be diminished by the lower yearly cost of production. So 75 shares @ 10mil (that could be later increased in need be) would be the new math based on the information available.

Also, I would sell 20 shares @ 10mil to avoid having a majority position or take 200mil and 20 shares in exchange for the license.

*I bought a license at 370, but still think 75shares @ 10mil is reasonable until the lot details are parsed out. And no one who expressed interest earlier should feel an obligation as I can resell the licence or build a brewery later.

A very legitimate point. I will return to this to this asap as soon as I get some more specific details about how the brewery is implemented and what are the related costs.

EDIT: I have managed to allocate a lot for our use that is markedly above the required minimum of 1200 sqm. The lot is no longer an issue.

The Grizzly Bear Brewery is seeking for investors

A company in making, The Grizzly Bear Brewery (GBB) with its planned product Grizzly Bear Beer is seeking for investors. The planned CEO Syksy has so far pledged to fund the following:

GBB company will start with 60 shares (to be created itemID S-GBB) each marked at 10mil per S-GBB for investors.

- Syksy pledges to buy 15 shares at a total of 150mil, owning 25% of the company initially.

In the beginning, the company plans to give out 50% of its produced beer as-is as dividends to its shareholders. The rest, 50% of the produced beer, will be sold in the free markets. Of the profits, 50% will be given as dividends to the shareholders, while the remaining 50% is planned to be held as moneritos in the company for safekeeping for expansion or possible urgent expenses. This is a preliminary plan for the 4 following CK years.

- First off, the company plans to buy a S-BB licence, aiming at either 330mil or 360mil.
- A suitable lot is required (1200 sqm or larger); It is negotiable that if a suitable lot is donated, this is to be negotiated into a suitable amount of shares
- The rest of the money is held for building the brewery and to start functioning.

If we fail to collect the rest of the 45 share(holder)s, suitable lot is not found and/or the the license of S-BB fleets beyond our grasp, this offer is withdrawn.

Please post below here if you seek to invest in GBB (#shares) or /query Syksy @ freenode! This post will be updated with the latest GBB status.

Share status (60 total, 10mil each):
- Syksy @ 15 shares
- Mooo @ 5 shares

First license sold to Sir Zechariah, The Prince Royal, for 320 million

As a rich guy, Zechariah knows how difficult reasonably risk-free income is. Even though the land, building and license will total 650 mil or more, the expected profitability is too good to let go. BEER if anything is always in demand, game expansion will make price pressured upwards rather than downwards, and the existing license holders are first in the line if new opportunities present themselves.

Happy grab here, who is next? Smiley

Saddam bought the next license for 330mil, can't pass up on that BEER opportunity!

I was going to build the brewery in my haw at 1-NE, but I hear that the smell is bad and this is discouraged for such a prestigious neighborhood. Is that correct?

Expert Karl Hungus built stables in 1-N right next to his tavern and my palace and later the iconic El Bulli restaurant was built next to it as well. But that was in the uncultured 1400-1500s. Brewery is not making even much noise, and also a lot of consumption will happen in the taverns of the Old Town. If you ask me the site would by great but what would I know...

ADD:

Town Hall bought one at 360 mil. So we have 4 licensed beermakers now:

Church
Zechariah
Saddam
Town Hall

3 to go. Smiley
