The Grizzly Bear Brewery is seeking for investors

A company in making, The Grizzly Bear Brewery (GBB) with its planned product Grizzly Bear Beer is seeking for investors. The planned CEO Syksy has so far pledged to fund the following:

GBB company will start with 60 shares (to be created itemID S-GBB) each marked at 10mil per S-GBB for investors.

- Syksy pledges to buy 20 shares at a total of 200mil, owning a third of the company initially.

In the beginning, the company plans to give out 50% of its produced beer as-is as dividends to its shareholders. The rest, 50% of the produced beer, will be sold in the free markets. Of the profits, 50% will be given as dividends to the shareholders, while the remaining 50% is planned to be held as moneritos in the company for safekeeping for expansion or possible urgent expenses. This is a preliminary plan for the 4 following CK years.
EDIT: The annual beer will be sold by GBB. Income (~40mil as described above) after subtracting expenses (~20mil  as described above) will be paid as dividends to the share owners.

- First off, the company plans to buy a S-BB licence, aiming at either 330mil or 360mil.
- A suitable lot is required (1200 sqm or larger); It is negotiable that if a suitable lot is donated, this is to be negotiated into a suitable amount of shares. A suitable lot allowing expansion has been found, with discussions asap with gamemaster.
- The rest of the money is held for building the brewery and to start functioning.

If we fail to collect the rest of the share(holder)s, suitable lot is not found and/or the the license of S-BB fleets beyond our grasp, this offer is withdrawn.

Please post below here if you seek to invest in GBB (#shares) or /query Syksy @ freenode! This post will be updated with the latest GBB status.

Share status (60 total, 10mil each):
- Syksy @ 20 shares (notice: 15 -> 20)
- Mooo @ 9 shares
- Roopatra @ 1 share
- goin2mars @ 10 shares
- smooth @ 5 shares
- papa_lazzarou @ 5 shares
(50 pledged)

Lot:
- We have an undisclosed lot at our disposal, that will be pledged if/when the license and shares have been decided.

First license sold to Sir Zechariah, The Prince Royal, for 320 million

As a rich guy, Zechariah knows how difficult reasonably risk-free income is. Even though the land, building and license will total 650 mil or more, the expected profitability is too good to let go. BEER if anything is always in demand, game expansion will make price pressured upwards rather than downwards, and the existing license holders are first in the line if new opportunities present themselves.

Happy grab here, who is next? Smiley

What size lot will house a brewery? Are there any restrictions on where a brewery can be built? Is the output 10,000*BEER for each brewery a constant for as long as you hold a license?

Brevery can be built anywhere, about 30x40 meters needed and it's good to have spare capacity nearby to potentially increase production in the future while keeping costs at bay. Production is about constant (something can always happen Wink )

Facts are more efficient than fud

So Church is having 1*S-BB Brewery license and the other 6 are created and will be auctioned in a quick order, and they are very valuable but will probably be available at a fraction of their discounted cash flow.

We seek to have the dutch auction functioning in Agora, if not automatically, then manually like already done with so many of the items.

Quote
In the name of Allah, the ...beneficent, the merciful...

For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union.

I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us.

Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer.

So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters.

I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it.

Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light.

When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself...

In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free.

CR1618B (2 CKG) coin will start in 1618, the 200th anniversary (bicentenary) of the first gold sales in the Kingdom. From here, 2 CKG coins will be issued every 2 years.

The first coin is going for special markup of 25% above gold price only, making it a potential object for value appreciation in the future.

500*S-CRB have been issued and by owning these, you get 1 CR-B coin delivered and billed automatically per each S-CRB you own.

You can also buy them at the same price in Coinshop store (Agora marketplace). When the coins run out, no more will be made (preorders can always be fulfilled). When a new coin comes to market, the unsold previous year coins will be smelted to reduce supply and ensure collectibility. They will not be dumped below original issue price.

Maximum mintage of this inaugural coin commemorating the pivotal event 200 years back in our history, is 300 coins. Unsold coins will be smelted.

Bullion Gold Trading; new CR-B series

We are taking steps to cater to a larger audience with gold. The decision how to arrange gold trading from now on has been made and is as follows:

- Supported investment gold sizes are 100, 5, 2 and 1 CKG. There is already a large quantity of 100 and 5 available, and the number of 1 will slowly start to increase as the game gets more players. Despite the large gap between 5 and 100, the decision was not to create a new size between them as it was deemed unlikely to find much usage. On the other hand, the emergence of 2 became crucial now as 1’s will start to be minted from virgin gold and be very distributed  and likely very collectible (expensive).

- 100 CKG bars (item HM02B100) are already uniform. The smaller sizes will be classified to item types CRE, CRB and CRA, and the item type can be used when making a buy (“BUY CRE 1 6mil” would buy the cheapest of any CRxxxxE coins, or if none is available at less than 6 million, make a bid for any. This should increase the liquidity of these coins greatly (especially when the target group emerges), and normalise the price to a rather small and constant markup over 100 CKG price (as it is IRL).

- CR16xxB (2 CKG) coin will start in 1618, the 200th anniversary (bicentenary) of the first gold sales in the Kingdom. It is planned that CR-B will be minted every 2 years, and will have circulation based on demand as follows:
* Characters can freely buy (and sell back to Coinshop) standing order shares (S-CRB). One S-CRB will cause 1*CR-B coin sent to the owner and billed automatically when a new one is issued.
* A pre-known, reasonable maximum quantity will be available to buy for a few years, after which the unsold coins are smelted. (Causing the Coinshop to stock on just a few of the most recent CR-B coins, even when they don’t sell out.)
* Price gouging does not happen in Coinshop part - the markup of the coins can be 10%, 25% or 50% but never higher, and is also the same for all buyers and all quantities. The higher-markup coins will probably end up being more rare (as there is less incentive to buy big quantities), and there is much upside possible for collector, while downside is limited due to small initial premium per coin.

* Each coin has a theme and this can be for instance 100 or 200th anniversary of some event, a famous person, chinese horoscope animal, building or institution.

* We seek that collectibility and nice rise in value comes from the 2 CKG coin being actively traded as a generic product and on the other hand that collecting sub-series of coins could be available to the middle class, not only the rich, and they can profit from both the gold and collectors’ value at the same time.

Literary Society will be using the same model when the time is ripe for starting it.

Please check the ancient Google DB tab /WINE. To the player not too much active, it may look absolutely daunting that there are so many wines there. Their taste information is public (ranging from "unenjoyable soon turning undrinkable" to "absolutely perfect in every measurable way"). What is not shown are the healths, and all of the wines are quite expensive limiting the experimenting.

Wine healthiness and wine taste are derived secretly from same dataset so they have a high correlation. Also price correlates with both of them obviously, and since age is such a major determinant in the dataset, it also correlates with all of them.

Quite a number of wines have been around more than 10 years, and have reached their "peak" (the age of maximum enjoyment). After peak, the taste begins to decline, healthiness may decline as well, and in the end the wine turns to vinegar and is no longer potable, does not have a health value, and will be made a collectible item instead by change of item type. If there is a big quantity of over peak wine available, it might be a great value. Also a wine with a high expected peak rating (all this info is listed in /WINE tab) can be a good value if converted from IC or quickly bought, and then stored until peak, which might be up to 50 years away.

Wines cannot be less healthy than beer. The best wines are going well into spirits category in healthiness, and the big variety gives a big variety bonus as well.

rpietila,

Do you have a plan to attract more players outside of the exisiting Monero community to Crypto Kingdom?

Right now it seems like nearly all players came from Monero (so far).

This is a very long-term project we are thinking in 10 years and longer timespan. Anyone can come to play.

Probably the mainstay of players will be existing cryptocurrency and monero users for some time (1-2 years) still, but this is just natural since they are the easiest reach.

The 6 licenses have been released to be sold by the Town.

If BEER selling price stays at 4k (it is not regulated except by competition from now on) then each brewery takes 20 mil per year and makes (on average) 10,000*BEER to be sold the same year at 40 mil.

Cost of the building that needs to be constructed is not yet known but is estimated to be close to 200 mil (incl all materials and work). Land requirement is 1,200 sqm so it might be better to build in the outskirts of town. (The only current Brewery is in B.4.) The building costs need to be paid only later but production will start right away Smiley

Obviously the important variables are whether the price will edge up improving the margin or go down because of a glut, what is the APR requirement for the investment (competing CON is at 0.66% now), and how the licenses will grant privileges in the future when BEER production is hundred times bigger (undecided).

It is possible to run brewery at less than full capacity, in which case 10 mil / year must still be paid as labor cost but the per-bottle cost of 1,000 is paid on the production only.

Price in Agora is according to modified Dutch auction so that it will gradually come down until all are sold. Starting price was 500 mil. At present, the cheapest ask is 400 mil and no licenses have been sold yet.

HM_The_King: And the herald cries with a loud voice:
[8:21pm] HM_The_King: The age of church beer monopoly is over!
[8:22pm] HM_The_King: We will grant licences to operate breweries for anyone. 6 licenses are in auction.
[8:23pm] HM_The_King: The peasants will start to consume about 50,000*BEER starting next year, and PC consumption is on average 12,000*BEER
[8:23pm] HM_The_King: So Church + the 6 new breweries will be able to supply 70,000*BEER
[8:24pm] HM_The_King: Town is a bit short on money, so the tax+cost basis will be raised to 2,000/bottle
[8:24pm] Syksy: Beer to the people!
[8:24pm] HM_The_King: Still, it is likely that beer price will rather go down than up because of the competition in the markets
[8:25pm] HM_The_King: Each license will immediately give the production, and will require the Brewery to be built as soon as building becomes available.
[8:26pm] moneromooo: What's the approximate cost of a brewery ?
[8:26pm] HM_The_King: sphericon: would know this one..
[8:27pm] HM_The_King: at 4,000/bottle, the sales are 40mil, and variable costs 20mil
[8:28pm] HM_The_King: I’d guess the brewery sets you back 200 mil
[8:28pm] HM_The_King: Considering that most yields have gone sub-1% the license is still worth a lot
[8:29pm] HM_The_King: 20 mil profit per year equals 200*CON and CON price is 15.5 mil => 3,000 XMR
[8:29pm] HM_The_King: so subtracting the brewery cost and opportunity cost of land
[8:29pm] HM_The_King: it is still valuable
[8:30pm] moneromooo: That's if the price stays at 4k. It may well end up at 2010 in short order
[8:30pm] HM_The_King: Do we have the dutch auction script working?
[8:31pm] moneromooo: Never heard about this one. All auctions have been on thread so far I think.
[8:31pm] HM_The_King: Chapelry auction has been in google sheets
[8:31pm] HM_The_King: dutch auction script means automatic lowering of price until sold
[8:32pm] HM_The_King: I’d like to do it in Agora
[8:32pm] moneromooo: Ah, then it should be doable now.
[8:33pm] moneromooo: I think we have all hte API necessary for this.

New CON emission at fixed price 15,500,000

Season's greetings,

Town Council has made agreement with Wizard Developer PJ to contract him as a permanent developer on fixed monthly salary. The deal is good for both parties - from our point of view the best things are that the Wizard can concentrate solely on CK, and also the payment per month goes down.

For December, especially in the absence of the good town incomes (land sales, buildings construction) we need to raise some money to meet the milestone. For this purpose, 500*CON have been issued and is currently for sale for the first taker at 15,500,000. The highest CON price has reached 16.5 mil, so this is a real opportunity for those who believe CON to be a good investment. CON yields fixed rate regardless of how well Town performs, whereas CKG has larger dividends, the better Town does.

The issue price may be adjusted based on demand without warning, the current situation can be seen in Agora /Perpetual Debt /CON.

Previous IC conversion opportunities have ended. Currently we have the following outstanding:

W1614. 6 bottles per IC. The wine is already somewhat matured, and has a good rating of 13/20 with potential to quickly reach 15/20. All consumption of IC until otherwise mentioned, will go towards this wine now.

Absinthe (ABS). This has long been wanted due to its high potential to be the "mystery drink" in some of the health challenges. Due to its high alcohol content, it is a potent health booster in any case. Town is now selling it for 500k. Maximum exists: 2,200 bottles.

Brutal -> Moderate. My overall health is Weak
150 MEAT + 50 VEG + 161 BEER + 30 W1609 + 6 GIN + 3 VOD + 200 CAN = About 5 mil for the items I bought on market.
You may still eat 0 units, drink 0 units and use 0 units of wisdom this year. Your remaining health challenge is Moderate. Your overall health is Weak

Awesome work Syksy!

Please enjoy my gift of 500 CAN for your efforts.

I was thinking of doing something similar with CKG but using the d3 visualization library (http://d3js.org/). When CK becomes more active it will be fun to have something real-time to look at.

A Lingering Ghost
Hey all,

while everybody's busy desperately fighting for their life (and I am also), I'd also like to advertise a little side-kick project I've been working with the codename CKJester. Basically I'm hoping to offer some CK API-based service (planning free of charge with voluntary donation basis) to enthusiastic CK'ers who'd like some systematic visualizations and possibly statistical modeling of CK.

So far:
- Made a R script that calls the API on regular intervals with a set delay in-betwen each item call to disperse the burden, obtaining current buy/sell offer status of interesting items.
- Wraps the retrieved JSON to a R-friendly data format and combines the longitudinal information which is collected as described above.
- Made a few plot functions (i.e. buy/sell offer quantiles weighted by the amount of the particular item being sold, total sums of buy/sell etc)
- I plan to implement a graphical user-interface that accesses this processed data, where user may customize plots and perform interesting stuff of their preference (I might be able to put it up for free using R Shiny, but this remains to be seen).
- Everything is based on R, which is a free flexible open-source statistical software/language available at www.R-project.org for anybody that's interested.

So I did my first experiments on the above pipeline last weekend and have approximately 5 days amount of data with varying intervals, and I'd like to present you examples of what kind of visualizations could be produced.

I know you guys and gals love CAN so I started with that, and it's also very topical due to its connection to the health challenge(s). Basically here's a plotting of how CAN offers have changed during the past few days:

It's a work in progress so it's not very polished, but here you can already see a few interesting things:
- There was a drastic reduction in CAN buy/sell offers in-between Dec 1st/2nd EET night; possibly people waking up to the fact that there's yet an another health challenge to tackle Smiley
- Feasible off-the-shelf prices of CAN seem to have been a little tip over 10k during the past week. Notice it's log-transformed y-axis though, to compensate for a few outlierish sell/buy offers.

And then an another example; people got excited about silver recently! So I took a snapshot of a silver coin CS1606E:

- I think it was around 30th of November when people started realizing that silver was probably going to be worth more in the future, somebody buying off half of this particular coin. Sadly I'm missing the middle-point of that eventful night as I was unable to access the API for some unknown reason.
- With a delay of few days, people (or a person) have set a few new buy offers for newly discovered silver. Seems that nobody's willing to part of their precious CS1606E:s yet though, and there's quite a gap between the sell and buy offers.

I'm hoping these plots to have more informativeness when this has been gathered for a longer period of time. I hope you find these interesting, it's just a concept example of what I'm doing on my spare time. These default plots could of course be customized in the GUI to answer more specific questions. I think the API is a very interesting asset in CK, and at least from my experience so far, retrieving these sell/buy orders is not a very computationally intensive task. Only thing I'm currently missing is an API functionality that would allow inspecting the transaction log Wink

Stay tuned!

The Most Ancient Prince of Soul, one of the oldest characters in the game (250+ years) approaches the health challenge:

"HEALTH": "You may still eat 200 units, drink 200 units and use 200 units of wisdom this year. Your remaining health challenge is Brutal. Your overall health is Good"

No surprise here. Luckily I am well equipped, and know how to go. My plan is to get the challenge to "none" if it is comparably easy (ie. turns to "severe" rather quickly) or "insignificant" if it is a really tough one. Since I have money, I'll just do what it takes, and count the costs later.

After consuming the staple items (50*VEG, 50*MEAT, 50*BEER, 50*CAN): "The eating/drinking felt Satisfying. I feel the remaining health challenge to be Brutal. I could still eat 100, drink 150 and use 150 units of wisdom this year."

Hmm.. It is time to deduce that it's going to be the hard one. So taking it to "none", while definitely possible, is probably not worth it.

"CONSUME MEAT 50": "The eating/drinking felt Effective. I feel the remaining health challenge to be Severe. I could still eat 50, drink 150 and use 150 units of wisdom this year."

Oh, this is nice. Hitting "severe" with most of the drink quota left is entirely doable. I'll finish the eating with the most effective stuff, 1*CAV, 25*FOIE and the rest MEAT first, and then move on to wines...

...

Consumed 50*SHI, 5*CIG and 1*MUS (it is not too cost-effective to consume wisdom substances for health alone): after finishing the quota of edibles and the "intention quota" of wisdom, the challenge is still "severe" with 150 drinks left.

So,

"CONSUME W1603A 20": "The eating/drinking felt Powerful. I feel the remaining health challenge to be Moderate. I could still eat 2, drink 130 and use 94 units of wisdom this year."

Well yeah this was a little overkill but I knew the wine to be powerful and for that reason had 467 bottles in my cellar to begin with. So now it's only about how to fine tune the rest of the challenge so that the quota becomes used. Some people mentioned that GIN is good so let's try...

"CONSUME GIN 5": "The eating/drinking felt Effective. I feel the remaining health challenge to be Insignificant. I could still eat 2, drink 125 and use 94 units of wisdom this year."

Hmm... At this point it will probably go to zero on beer alone, and if not, I have some wines that will pack a punch with the varietyBonuses. But cheapest it is to try with beer so let's see:

After 100 BEER it is still "Insignificant". What a waste of quota. Only 25 left. So let's find a good wine that I have excess and try 5 of it:

I have more than 1,000 bottles of W1608 so consuming 5 of them is not a big deal. Afterwards: "The eating/drinking felt Satisfying. I feel the remaining health challenge to be None. I could still eat 2, drink 20 and use 94 units of wisdom this year."

Well this is kind of the intended result. Not too much quota left, and severely brutal challenge turned to "none".

Cost side:

All foods were about 4 mil in total, of which VEG and MEAT were 1 mil and the few FOIE and CAV 3 mil. I am not of course paying for the FOIE since it is coming by virtue of me being a noble.

Wisdom products were actually only 1 mil in total since I did not go crazy with them, preferring to adjust the challenge with the drinks.

Of the 180 units of drinks, I am embarrassed to confess that 125 were BEER and 25 were MEAD, so costing me only 0.5 million in total.

The rest were 20*W1603A, 5*GIN and 5*W1608, with midprices totalling about 7.5 mil.

So in total, the challenge that was quite brutal, cost 13 million to get to "none". For me it is not a big money, and actually I believe it is not a big money for any ancient character who is qualified to even get brutal challenges. With the patience to wait for the frequencyBonus to kick in, a few million would have been saved even from this.

Hi guys, I made it to NONE! With a little help from my friends.  Wink

Code:
MEAT 100 Powerful Brutal->Brutal 1,250,000
GIN 25 Wonderful Brutal->Severe 0 (tnx HH of North Face, may The Church bless you)
VEG 95 Powerful Severe->Moderate 323000
W1603A 6 Effective Moderate->Insignificant 1200000
MEAD 150 Satisfying Insignificant->None 0

Lessons learned:
  • overpaid for meat
  • should have tried BEER before the W1603A
  • and then fine tune with less expensive stuff

PS: I think the 25 GIN took me almost all the way through the severe level.

Just wondering whether this is intentional that we need to spend 50$ on every health challenge.

Code:
22632 Consume meat 01.12.15 100 goin2mars (111) New (5)
22633 Consume beer 01.12.15 100 goin2mars (111) New (5)
22634 Consume can 01.12.15 100 goin2mars (111) New (5)
22647 Consume shi 01.12.15 100 goin2mars (111) New (5)
22878 Consume veg 02.12.15  100 goin2mars (111) New (5)
22879 Consume mead 02.12.15 100 goin2mars (111) New (5)

approximate total cost @ current market sale prices: 3520000m

Whatever the health benefits of GIN, one thing's for sure: don't forget to eat your VEG!

The key is to have a plan and keep cool. The price range of health items is crazy, with VEG being available at 600 at the cheapest, and some stuff like DOM, AYA and SW1 hitting 10,000,000-20,000,000 at the dearest. When you count the zeroes, you see that it can be 10,000 times more expensive to drink SW1 for your health than to eat VEG or drink MEAD. You can be pretty sure that it is not 10,000 times more healthy, though.

So it will probably make sense to have a rough budget and try to aim to finish the quota and by so doing, getting the challenge to the desired outcome. I have seen people including myself ending an easy challenge with half the quota left. That means that you have spent 10 times more money to stuff that is only 2x the benefit.

Of course I would have a lot advice to tell since I designed it all, but it's the joy of exploration that I don't want you to lose. Listening to the other councillors' advice is good as well, since even though they don't know the health challenge, they can read my mind and are quite good in the detective work.

ADD: Okay 2 more helps:

1. The harvest season is starting soon and the peasants are competing to sell their produce here as historically this has been a high-priced market. In 2 days, it is possible that VEG price hits 1,000. Unless there is a bad harvest, which even I don't know (moneromooo knows but does not tell). This, combined with the regulated price of MEAD and BEER is the way to go if you're seeking to combat the challenge having small budget.

2. The frequencyBonus gives you more benefit if you spread out the consumption over a longer time. Maximum benefit is about 300 health points (3% of the maximum Health of a character).

I was chatting with Zephyrus earlier today, and our conversations naturally broached on the illness that befell the poor convoy drivers bringing us the Shah's bounty. While we were discussing the effects of various foods and drinks, it dawned on us that while I had found 5 liters of GIN the previous year to be satisfying, just 4 liters yesterday bestowed Zephyrus an effective health treatment! Could it be that GIN is really the drink of choice to combat that new disease ? So far, the evidence looks good, but more experimentation may be needed to make sure this isn't a fluke.

Whatever the health benefits of GIN, one thing's for sure: don't forget to eat your VEG!

The town has put up some of its GIN forsale to help with this health challenge.  Hopefully all can take advantage of Moo and Zephyrus discovery.
