ABC Decade Dividend Announcement
------------------------------------------

Letter to our investors:

So, the first decade has swiftly passed! The corporation finally started to operate on 1533. Thus the accounts closed on 1542 for this first Shareholder Meeting.
Again, thank you to those shareholders that put their trust on us. Their gesture will not be forgotten.

After this first decade, ABC has earned 75.965.500 moneritos. As they carry a substantial debt after the purchase, mortgage and construction of the East Village hotel, it seems that our initial assumptions of a 0.8% daily interest were correct.
ABC will therefore withdraw 40,000,000 moneritos as ordinary dividend and will credit each shareholder account.

All the reminder profit will go to further clean the current negative balance of (after dividend) 175.969.088 moneritos.

Each Senior share holder will receive 800,000 moneritos per Series A stock:

List of Shareholders  /  Dividend

Lord Paulson            17.600.0000
Freeman Tefer            6.400.000
Prince of New Liberty   4.000.000
Earl of North Face      4.000.000
Prince of Oz              4.000.000
Master Hokusai           4.000.000

Considering that the closing of the year is made every night and that nevertheless the assets will always remain in the corp, the next decade dividend will comprise 1544-1553 , so we leave one extra year "for free" to generate as much cashflow as possible.

As the number one priority for ABC is to maximize profits, Lord Paulson and Freeman Tefer as the majority owners have settled the new APR for the second round will decrease to 0.6 APR; this is 600,000 Moneritos per stock. so we can focus on repaying debt, saving for mortgage deadline and starting maybe a new project that allows us to gain even more traction. Also, recently the services pool have suffered a severe downgrade, so it makes sense to "downsize" as well. Dividend will be paid on 1554.

The value and daily business of our Hotels is stable and even on a slight rise, seeing other offers in the market, so we are quite pleased overall with either the production during this stage and the near future plans.

Every Series A shareholder is invited to meet us at freenode ##Crypto-Kingdom to discuss current/future plans.

Thanks all!

Signed,

Lord Paulson, Esq. CEO

- 2-N chapelry and 2 chapelries in the 3rd borough (3-NW and 3-SW) will be auctioned for quarry business. All 3 have different rules:
* 2-N: starts from 150 mil, town has the buyback option similar to all existing quarry sites
* 3-NW: starts from 1,200 mil, direct sale with no strings attached
* 3-SW: starts from 300 mil, direct sale with no other strings than the same extra land tax as the Village (1-SE) has. (It is possible to abandon any land if you don't want to pay tax, so it's a kind of "option" to buy any marginal, taxed land.)

Situation currently:

2-N - 400 mil -- The Earl of Tavastia
3-NW - 1250 mil -- The Earl of Soul

Public answer to Servants question:

Please do not make any changes to the Servants sheet now. Additions for new businesses in the rows in the end are ok.

The ones eligible for promotion will be chosen by the administration of the game, based on their service length, pay level so far, etc.

You cannot get any Silver and Gold servants any more by recruiting, so better wait now until we are ready with the update!

The ones who get promotion will be very esteemed, very valuable, and possess special skills as a result of 30, 50 or nearly 100 years of service.

The last year of operation for these buildings whilst they were in the service of NLQI and income was received... they produced revenue of 10,669,500.  If that rate were to hold, the ROI on this property would be an unprecedented 65.6 days.

Also:

- about half of the area of these buildings did not provide any direct revenue at all since they were used by the industry, but can now be converted to other uses at a reasonable cost or rented out for profit
- 4 q of the 14 q land was not built at all, the value of this land only is conservatively 80 million and could be much more due to its location and excellent facing south-east on 2 streets.

Therefore:

Prince Joseph 580@90

Asset - K1 a built property in 2 SW

TIP of the day for NLQI shareholders.  Bidding here is the final benefit of NLQI shareholding, (because you inherit the option of first refusal).  The last year of operation for these buildings whilst they were in the service of NLQI and income was received... they produced revenue of 10,669,500.  If that rate were to hold, the ROI on this property would be an unprecedented 65.6 days.  Prince Joseph would be happy to take ownership of it all, but Baroness Asenath reminded the Prince of the virtue of "fairness" to the minority shareholders (perhaps a more prized virtue among those not born to nobility).  The Prince was persuaded, and the new corporation formed for that purpose.

To be realistic, for once, we expect that the new system can completely take over in 1550, which is also the 100th anniversary of the Service Pool. During its first century of existence, the Service Pool has become the largest pool in the game with over 4 billion in assets, and has distributed over 15 billion to the owners of the services. Well done, all!  Smiley

The building LABOR -20% discount will apply to buildings until 1444 (included). Monero is again heading down and the rationale for the discount is quickly expiring, so take advantage of it while it lasts!

Sneak Peek on the new NPC management

It's like giving birth, takes time and effort, but once it's ready, it is beautiful  Kiss

All NPC's (domestic servants, army and quarry as current categories) will be systematized under the new management system with interesting features:

- NPC's get a level similar to PC level. With NPC's this is called N1-N9 and is a pay grade.

- N1 is for basic occupations paying 100k/year and existing servants and other staff will be converted automatically.

- N2-N4 are for more skilled workers and pay 150k, 200k and 250k, respectively. Operating subgames often requires a certain amount of skilled workforce, or the output is dependent on the number. These may or may not be available in unlimited quantities, depending on the subgame. Some of them (such as Army Sergeants) can only be promoted, which takes time.

- N5 is the entry level specialist/officer/scientist/manager/chef/etc position. It is possible to recruit directly to this level, but not higher. At this level, the NPC's cost 300k/year, but their performance is often relatively weak. Remember "manager" in the Quarry-1 subgame.

- N6-N9 are for promoted specialists, and pay ranges from 400k to 1 million. Despite the high salary, these specialists deliver more than their worth, and they can only be promoted/generated according to the rules. Retaining these highly skilled specialists in your payroll is a definitive advantage, even during the times of turbulence. Some of the existing servants with up to 90 years of experience will be offered a hefty raise during the transition period, and the master can choose whether to keep them or vacate them to the market with their new grade and existing experience.

- Being a character with much possessions, a big house, and many things going on, will itself require a certain organization (until now this has been vague), with a lack in organizational prowess meaning reduced incomes (cf. Quarry-1). This generates new demand for office buildings and space, fulfilling the natural city development of commerce in the 1-2 lowest floors, offices higher, and residences mostly a bit further afield. These are already encoded to the formulas for the new Service Pool (see City Map/SERV tab).

- The NPC's have in general decided that their 100k/year minimum salary is anyway not enough for living except in quite cramped conditions (the recent years, 40% of 100k/year assigned for living, has been able to rent about 5 sqm from a shared room without amenities). So their new feeling is "fuckit - crowded it'll anyway be, I rather take 3 sqm with 4 m height, good location, good views, etc. than 5 sqm head hitting ceiling and the neighbor's wall in 1 m distance from the north-facing small window". The per-sqm income from nicely designed apartments is going way up in this recalculation.

- Land Registry will be the place to host all this, and it will be numbers-in-cells type, with automatic updates to annual costs etc. Managing will become a breeze, and therefore firing can also be enabled at no cost. (Keeping the promoted ones becomes important so the periodical slashing will undoubtedly happen in N1 and N5 the most, and N2-N4 partially.)

- The two google databases will need to be merged to ensure that the VLOOKUP formulas function efficiently. Backups will be taken daily.

The bids are to be given in the following format: "quantity @ price (XMR)". For example "100 @ 2.25".

The reserve price is priced so that anyone can take part no matter how much wealth they have at only 0.90 each and no more than 2 decimals (so former NLQI shareholders may also bid 0.90 until 700 are bought above this price).  Though we think it will go for much more.

Higher bid wins over lower one, earlier bid wins over later one except as provided above, and all winners pay the same amount per lot (the price of the highest non-winning bid).

The right to participate in the auction is limited as follows:
- if it is not legal for you to do so, cannot participate
- negative trust rating, cannot participate

This Auction closes Friday Jan 2nd 6PM, BCT server time, or one hour after the last winning bid (in case a winning bid was submitted during the last hour, the auction lasts as long as there are no new winning bids submitted in the hour since the previous one.

What is the quarry code for 2-N? I see -NW and -SW shown on the map but not -N

(1)168, told in /QUARRY tab Smiley

Compared to this one, the others look quite bad. But they are randomized with the new formula, meaning that a site like 2-N cannot even exist anymore.

Buying any of the sites now makes sense:
- 3-NW is not that much stone but you get unencumbered land at 8 m/q, price rather unseen for a long time.
- 3-SW is a decent site for quarrying, as well as building, and the tax model makes the entrance cost very low, so good for speculation also. My plan is to develop a wonderful, complete, Boulevard of prime buildings in 3-W and 3-C, driving the price up and making the sleeping/industry suburbs in NW and SW really sought-after.
- 2-N obviously, despite that it is a lease more than a sale, has enormous potential as a quarry site. We ourselves are also qualified to bid, and will do. There are about 19 million stone in easily quarriable depth, making the place worth a billion even at these low prices. The exact bidding will happen when I reveal the exact organization/production details and formulas. Soon(TM). You can't force a thing that is supposed to be clever and fun  Wink

Because both the optimal organization and the secret code are known, the production costs are expected to settle at a quite low level, but since it benefits everybody, it does not necessarily mean better overall productivity.

NLQI closes, and the land is immediately bought by the town and vacated for construction:

Check from the City Map DB, how cheaply we are able to sell this land to the first taker! (prices range from 11 to 30 per quadrat!)

Great bargains to be had.  It is the New City after all...   (My chars will wait 12 hours before purchasing any)

Congratulations to my fellow shareholders of NLQI on a successful run!

NLQI offered the best price for stone in the game through its entire operation to its shareholders AND a discount under the market price to the public (non shareholders),
NLQI mined more stone than any other quarry by the time it closed, and returned over a million stone, 300 gold, and almost 200Mm at liquidation.
Those that did the very best were the shareholders that had use for the stone, or upsold it, but everyone came out ahead.

Being ever vigilant for the incredible deals.  Asenath secured the prime lands in the former NLQI quarry that had been chosen by the natives to this land as the best places where they themselves preferred to live, to enjoy offices, and of course to revel after a hard days work in the taverns.

  • It is the only lot in the entire chapelry that has eight (8) street facing 10m sections.
  • All frontage is on the main streets.
  • The lots are already built!
  • Staffed by experts in serving this population from the disbanded quarry.
  • Secured for a very low price, (primarily because we were first in line and HM could not buy it for 12 hours yet).

Whilst NLQ Inc. is dissolved as per its founding charter at the closing of the quarry.  Asenath has encouraged us to extend the offer to the former shareholders to take part in our good fortune for our swift action and artful negotiation and own a piece of the ongoing operation of this real estate in a new corporation for this "STONETON CONGLOMERATE".   Goodbye NLQI, hello STONETON

Bidding is unrestricted to all players and is available for 700 shares with a special rule.  Former NLQI shareholders have a "Right of First Refusal" and so may "Jump Ahead" of any bidder at an equal value bid in accordance to their shares held, and ahead of all non shareholders.
Other than that, the auction is as normal.

Soon, according to the Town Council decision:

- Subgames will be modularized to ease their conceptual development, integration, admining and player feel. A typical subgame is about combining some inputs to achieve some outputs, and the skill factor is to obtain the best inputs, or do it cheaper, or combine them more skillfully than others, to produce the most, or the best, or at least to sell at the highest price. Outwardly, this will take many forms of course, and subgames that aim to produce experiences instead of money are also welcome.

- Research will be started as a fundamental game concept. To unlock new subgames in the Kingdom level, or other important things, scientists etc. will work in laboratories etc. to produce research points. The masters of these scientists will allocate the points towards research projects which will eventually grant new techs, Civ-style. So the tech race is (at least mainly) not p-vs-p but collaborative.

- The Window-making tech serves as an example; it takes a great deal of experimentation to learn the production of windows, but once it's done, all the collaborators will be awarded shares of the window-making monopoly Corp, able to earn all the money that currently goes to waste as payments to foreign nations. Other technologies grant other benefits to their discoverers.

- 2-N chapelry and 2 chapelries in the 3rd borough (3-NW and 3-SW) will be auctioned for quarry business. All 3 have different rules:
* 2-N: starts from 150 mil, town has the buyback option similar to all existing quarry sites

- Quarry and Tavern subgames will be finalized and existing quarries and taverns/restaurants transferred.
