Update on Building conversion and new Module
Lot table has been downloaded to the "sheet edit mode". This means that changes to the Lots in the game do not have any effect, and will be discarded when the new version is imported. Same goes with the Buildings, which used to be in the google DB. They have also migrated now to a secret editing sheet, and soon back to the Ultima DB.
Builder ControlsCurrently it looks like that the builder needs to specify only 11 things, which will allow all the building to be constructed, its statistics and costs etc calculated. I will list them here so that you can start to design buildings in your mind
In addition to these stats, the buildings have information fields and a picture. No floor plans! The mandatory info is below:
1. Yard - Which area of the lot is left unconstructed.
2. Footprint - What is the ratio of a single floor area to the constructed area of the lot. This is given as "airy, dense, very dense, max" type controls.
3. Shopfront - Does the building have the first floor designated for commerce.
4. Number of floors - How many floors (above the possible shopfront) does the building have.
5. Room height - Inside height of the rooms.
6. Window ratio - What is the ratio of windows area to the floor area. This has 10 choices to fit every style.
7. Window type - Finally, different window types increase the status of the building!
8. Finish - Elaborate, Most, or Very Elaborate facade.
9. Roof - New roof options are 1. flat/terrace, 2. flat/roof garden, 3. sloping and 4. sloping/copper.
10. Lux - Percentage as usual.
11. Usage - To which pool the building submits shares. Pools are Residence, Villa, CUL, SCI, Headquarters, Commercial, Office and Apartment. Any building can be assigned to any pool, but there are usually a few pools where the building performs best. It can be changed against a fee.
Mold growth found in buildings 28 years without windows - old buildings demolishedOne cause of our sicknesses was discovered, when the scientists realised that mold is bad. And we have been having much of it because of long times without proper care of the buildings. All buildings still without windows were ordered destroyed (and to keep it equitable, none was spared, although there were a few worth sparing). The owners suffered rather little, though. A building has 4 valuable things: stone, windows, lux and labor. These buildings had no windows and generally no lux, and 100% of the stone was refunded. So only the labor was lost and that would have been lost anyway as the buildings would have needed repairs because of the same condition that now prompted their demolish.
