So what will happen to all the coins that do not get claimed? Who has ownership of those?

Do GT get an extra pay day at the end of the claim process(targeting at least another 3 years at least)
Or do the coins get held in perpetuity until claimed?
Or do they get distributed equally to all the registered claimants?
Or is it given back to the company and therefore property of the shareholders?

Since my coins on the exchange were not worth a lot in terms of USD$ I think my privacy is far more important to me so I have to let it go. I think the bigger issue for concern will be for those that want to preserve their privacy but will compromise on it in the Cryptopia case only for them to be told they will receive nothing or a tiny fraction of their funds.

What is the point of going through with this process if you have to send KYC?
If you don't register, you can guarantee that you won't be getting anything back... to register your claim, you have to complete the KYC process...

So, you'll need to weigh up whether your "privacy" is worth more to you than the amount of "loss" you'll suffer by not completing the claim registration.

I'm a bit scared it will take another year until they come up with the next steps.
I wouldn't be surprised... I called their office on Monday, was forwarded to a guy named "Russell", who asked me to email my query to a "Tom Aspin"... I also tried emailing the GrantThornton "enquiries" email address listed on their website on Wednesday and got an auto-responder saying that some lady called "Rachel" was away until Dec 16 and if it was an urgent enquiry to send a text. So I sent a text to the given number. It's now Saturday and I have not received a response to ANY of my enquiries Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Based on my experience with this company this week, I don't expect anything to happen in any sort of reasonable timeframe. Undecided
This is really serious concern as few members want this all very quickly but I am also feeling this can take more then 1 year because they have good income from this and they never try to solve this all very quickly just for sack of victims its really shit which is happening around us and we are not able to do any thing just wait and watch.

Has anybody already got feedback after filling out the form? How do I know if they accept my input?

At the end they give this:

Confirmation

Thank you for setting up your account. Your reference number is xxxxxxxx

We will be in contact about the next steps of the process.

Meanwhile, keep your portal login details safe as you'll need to use these again.

Formal updates on the Liquidation can be found on the Grant Thornton New Zealand and Cryptopia websites and their respective social media channels.

This is what I do. I drink and I know things.
4.I chose the registration date first, as this is the easiest confirmation. We are looking for 1 letter from the cryptopia in the mail using the built-in search. There will be a registration date, BUT this is your local date, and you need a date in New Zealand time. To do this, open Google and search (what time it is in New Zealand) then by the time that was in your letter, you either add or minus the difference between your local and New Zealand. It may turn out to be 1 day more, maybe 1 less, or maybe get the same day.

Can be easy only if you saved the automated replying mail back then. If not, you can forget about it.

5.Secondly, I chose the output date that I had last.

Same for this option, easy only if you can recall after 3+ years and if you had only 2 or 3 assets/ coins/ tokens there. If you had more or make a bunch of transactions each week, then you can forget about this option too. In other words, the method/ way that they choose to verify users are based on memory which is near to absurd for such a matter. More than a lot of users that had their funds there will be stuck and not able to verify themselves with this "system" and that means that those funds will be claimed from Grant Thornton.

Does anyone know the last date of filling up the form ?

No, at least until now. Nothing mentioned for any deadline.

Scammers still doing shit and wasting time.

I am %100 sure that I have given 2 requested info which is my registration date and latest withdrawal tx.
Now I am feeling 100% they are not going to give us any penny just trying to give some lolly pope and liquideters are going to have some more good amound in fees nothing else good happening for peoples scammed by cryptophia its all just wast of time nothing else.

BYE BYE to all for this shit.

If they have given a chance and if you have funds on that exchange, you should fill the form. Whos know they may really return the funds.

So you can start thanking me, I will answer you how to register a claim correctly and without errors.

1.You must follow the link from the letter
2. The first common problem is a non-working captcha where you enter the address, in order for it to work, you just need to choose the address that Google offers you. If you enter your name and your address and do not click from the list, Google will not let you through.
3.At the end of the registration, you will have an email password from him and an autifier. Enter everything and that heavy page appears with a choice of account confirmation.
4.I chose the registration date first, as this is the easiest confirmation. We are looking for 1 letter from the cryptopia in the mail using the built-in search. 5.Secondly, I chose the output date that I had last. Also, I started searching for letters in the email and found that I displayed ltc and the address to which I displayed. Everything is also simple. We open coinmarketcap and the coin you are interested in. Under the rank there will be Explorer. Open all Explorer and look for the address you are looking for. By finding the address you can easily find that transaction with the hash and time (the time, as in the previous paragraph, should be summed up under New Zealand (you can see the local time in your letter) ).

Ask your questions, since I am also lost and I would like to help all caring people.

Did you login at https://portal.cryptopia.co.nz/ with your cryptopia password ?
I am trying to do the same but getting a error message.

You need to register/ sign up and not with your Cryptopia credentials. New registration from scratch.

I have heard some saying a bank account was asked for, is that true ? I mean cryptopia wasn't a fiat exchange/gateway so why ask for that ?

Nothing about a bank account or depositing any money. "Cryptopia Rescue" on the other hand wants money to "proceed".

Does anyone know when the trial for that guy (who has name suppression) (who is a former employee of Cryptopia) who was arrested for stealing crypto from Cryptopia more than a year ago is going?

I'm surprised no one in this thread has picked up on it as yet.

I agree with Indymoney on this. All of us want our funds back, so our priority is to do whatever we can in order to get them. Searching about that "dude" won't help us regarding our funds. Besides, we will know (eventually) from crypto media channels.

Because right now biggest issue is return of funds for all just because of this we all missing things like this just thinking is this possible we have funds back but right now after reading this all now I am feeling I have no chance just 0% because missing some documents due to harddisk problem now just watching and keeping eye on these things.

If they wanted to scam (they have already scammed by the way), why would they ask for this information from old clients and give them a false hope that they are serious in returning the amount.
I understand they won't return our money, but why they are playing this drama when most of us have no good hopes from them.
