I bought more Litecoin at $61 a few weeks ago, then watched its price rise to the low 80s.

Then everyone started shitting themselves over this Corona Virus bullshit, so the price retreated to $60 again.  If I'd been able to predict the future I'd have sold at $80 and bought back in at $60, but I didn't.

So I lost some profits.  Farq.

Shit happens bro. I guess every people in this thread faced this situation. It's a part of trading life. In that case you can use Stop-Limit Order. May be this theory can help you to not happen this kinda situation again. In my opinion this year is good for trading and investors so don't blame your self and try to make some right move. Hope halving bring crypto market some good move.
indeed cryptocurrency price conditions are difficult to predict sometimes when there is an outbreak of a virus like that does not cause panic traders but some cryptocurrency prices fall because too many traders are panicking and if you do ordinary trading then you should not cut to lose because it will make you lose, hold it until the price recovers.

You didn't lose any profit or make any kind of loss. As long as you are holding your coins and haven't sold any, you haven't made any profit or loss. The price of the coins are falling or rising, not the amount of coins you are holding. Instead of regretting that you couldn't sell the coins when the price was at $80, start buying more coins as the price of the coins crashes. You will be making more profit than before when the price reaches back at $80.

Please do not mind but this post lacks the maturity and mindfulness, i mean there are dozens of profiting opportunities every week and month and i do not think that anyone can catch them all, secondly you talked about seeing through future, i think no one has that power and if someone had this he would have been the richest person on earth in a day.

Lol! You should have sold immediately you saw it up to that price, by now you need to understand market movement, price don't stay up for too long without any correction,  I believe it will go up soon so don't worry or feel bad, most times people get carried away and ended up losing out on opportunities.

That's why you need to set points to take profit at intervals as long as you buy very low. That's the secret to making profit. It won't keep going up , so book your profit when it's time to do so.

Don't be mad, you and the rest of the world, 99% missed the opportunity too
It's impossible to predict the future

If I know BTC is falling again I would sell every coin to buy again after, but there's a chance to rise again and you'll buy less coins

Be prepared next time and look for indicators, it will take a lot of time, and it's not 100% guaranteed, but you can maximize your chances to earn some money

no one can predict the market trend or the events that influence it, maybe you had to put your litecoins to trade with leverage and set the sale let's say when the value dropped below $ 70?...

I certainly sympathize with you. But the course of cryptocurrencies has always been and is unpredictable.
In the near future, I think that cryptocurrency will increase in value. Do not worry about this.

Yeah I know the feeling, it is always like this, you thinking the price will keep going up but not knowing correction time is already setting in,
It really sucks to know you could have sold at that price and re-buy below, increasing your holdings at the same time,
Well Can't do nothing about it now, this is market, sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don't, maybe next time you will get it right.

If you bought on that amount few weeks ago I am sure it will the same quantity of Litecoin you have but the value has been decreased and that is not a problem if you are not selling it under the price from the date you have been purchased. I did not have doubts about Litecoin because that was a potential coin. If you are patiently willing to wait for the right time and gain profit when the market pump up that is a great achievement of yours. Buying and selling potential coin needs a perfect time, that's why we have technical analysis to predict the possible next move of price.

I know the feels man and you arent alone on experiencing such thing where missing out profits on a particular time due to some reason
either you are still aiming for more or  just missed out because you have forgotten or simply do held up for long term.
Ive experienced lots of situations like this but better to move on and dont stress out yourself into those potential profits
because it will just mess up your further trading analysis.Just continue on what you are doing and do learn into those mistakes but
i do say that this one is unavoidable because of speculative characteristic of this market.

Just stay calm dude, there will be another pump. This is the advantage when you invest in cryptocurrency, you will have another chance to get profit as you wanted. If I compare with stock market or like forex it can't do that. If I am late to sell then I will lose it and I never have any chance to get peofit again. But in cryptocurrency maybe you only need more patient. There is many thing will be happened in the future, and if I talk we are in same situation. I was late to sell XRP at $0.3 a few days ago because now its price has back to original price when I bought around $0.27.

So they say better luck next time. You know the chart will always tell the truth even in Feb10-Feb13 the LTC market had been that high so you should expect the price to also dip after that. But you shouldn't just join drag the price down when you are not watching the market closely.

You can wait for another opportunity. There's plenty more if you hold til it bubbles up to ATH again.

That's fine, don't think hard about it,

I am also in the same situation as you, I am currently holding ethereum and I wasn't able to sell while it is at $270 last month. So, instead of having a profit, I disregard it and keep on holding.

But think of the positive side, you didn't lose money but you just lose the opportunity to make some profit. You can still have another chance, cheer up.

IMO,corona virus is the main reason for prices increased. So don't think this speculation is the reason why price fell but remember still gold price is increasing so chances of cryptos as well so don't lose your hope and keep on holding.

If you sold at $80 and the price hit $100, you would still regret here that you could have gain more. It prooves that you are very new in this field.
Having said that, "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush." So, it's better to have some cash than the potential huge cash.

you worried about not making a profit, but the main thing is that you have not lost your money. you could not guess that the coronavirus will affect financial markets, so do not worry. you will make your money a little bit later.
