'Big money wants to buy bulk for under spot, not push up the price. Keeping to this idea really, I've been thinking quite a bit about how we need a "localUNO." Really need a better place to buy chunks of Unobtanium like this, like localbitcoins works.'

Morning, R.D.! Somewhere out there are the theoretical texts I wrote: 'LocalUno' ('national chapters') is an idea I've been advocating for ages (and our bullion trade remains in the offing).

Market Report: I suppose that Uno's price and volume will dwindle as the Cryptsy-coin dump gets closer. So here each day you'll find the combined total of Bitcoin in the buy-order books of Bittrex and Cryptopia: 3.0

This isn't a new thing, but the Winklevoss twins are trying to make it more professional. All the big whales buy their BTC off book through brokers. It's not like you can log into Bittrex and click to buy 10,000 BTC and you'd push the price massively trying to accumulate. Big money wants to buy bulk for under spot, not push up the price.
Keeping to this idea really, I've been thinking quite a bit about how we need a "localUNO." Really need a better place to buy chunks of Unobtanium like this, like localbitcoins works.

OTC markets are by far the best in my experience. The original #bitcoin-otc code is open-source: https://github.com/nanotube/supybot-bitcoin-marketmonitor

Not a far stretch to imagine you guys using something like this for your project.

Results of first gemini daily auction: 2,104 BTC traded @ $593.67
https://gemini.com/blog/introducing-the-first-ever-daily-bitcoin-auction/

... hmm ... sounds like 'D-L-Ex' except by the Harvrd twins Wink

Quote
Auction provides the following benefits to our customers:

Greater Price Discovery: Auction focuses market participants and economic information at a single moment in the day, resulting in better price discovery.
Mark-to-Market Benchmark Price: Auction provides an official 4:00 p.m. ET end-of-day price for marking assets to market (e.g., for accounting purposes or for calculating returns).
Lower Fees: Auction trades receive our liquidity-making fee discounts and are therefore eligible for up to a 15 bps (0.15%) rebate (unlike OTC trades that can cost upwards of 1–2% per trade).
Instant Settlement: Auction trades settle immediately and funds are ready for immediate transfer (unlike OTC trades that can require phone calls, emails, specialized paperwork, risk during funds transfer, etc.).

So, it looks as though we're gonna be in limbo 'til the Cryptsy coin hit the markets. So be it. I shall check in every day.

Think about e-nation stuff: what services etc. can we weave around D L Ex/Uno in the long run?

Guys, we're victims of our success. I am amazed at how fast this thread is gaining traction. If we can just puddle along 'til the Cryptsy thang gives us the necessary data, then we're truly in business.

@ RD: give me a couple of weeks, RD. I gotta buy a bunch of silver, and I'll pick up a one-ounce bar to trade with you.

Buying silver is an offer I put up as a physical alternative trade option. I PM'd you Mark, but I don't want to put you out for your shillings, just trying to buy pure silver and the person selling will make a few extra bucks.

@shinohai: I've got an UNO silver bar, but you can always let me know if you decide to sell yours. They obviously cost more because bigtimespaghetti custom made them so I understand we didn't pay spot for them.

Anyone can step up and negotiate one of the trades I offered or they can place new trade offers.

I understand that everyone is very nervous to trade anything in such a bearish UNO market and hopefully we can trade smaller trades as well. I personally still see UNO currently as a $1.50 a piece coin even when it's dipping to $1.25-1.30 USD range.
Takes VERY little to be at $1.50 again, but everyone is waiting out these 15k coins that Cryptsy had and so it's making it a bear. Literally.

Trade 012:
Will send UNO as collateral for a BTC loan of somewhere between .25-.4 BTC. Will then send back the BTC in agreed amount of time. At which time you will send me back the collateral UNO holdings.
CANCELED

These are all small trades to act as trust experiments. This last one is a way that you can lend money, make a fee, and not lose out anything or risk a trading loss of UNO while it's bearish.
For instance, UNO is currently worth 0.00216395, we could even say average that to a flat .0021, at .0021 per UNO, 150 UNO would be worth .315 BTC. Due to the risk, I would be willing to send 150 UNO for collateral on .3 BTC loan. That's currently collateral of ~$9.18 more UNO than the BTC loan, or, negotiate numbers. Trying to drum up trades. Each successful trade/loan/sale allows us to: Post our tx IDs and prove trusted trades, utilize p2p trading, and ultimately add more trust ratings. This is all off book so we don't effect bid/ask prices even if we trade larger amounts eventually.

Just found this thread, hai IMZ.

I still have one of the Unobtanium silver bars from first batch, but haven't decided to sell it for spot or anything yet. You guys would get first grabs at it if I do set a price, which will include gpg chain-of-custody documents.

Hope all is well in Australia @IMZ

Evening, Shinohai!

Hang on to that Uno bar, I reckon: I PM-ed RD to the effect that a coupla international bullion trades is groovy as 'proof of concept,' but beyond that bullion trading is cost effective only P2P.

Whatever, it's v. v. satisfying to see the D L Ex rollin' along like this. We gotta hang in til the Cryptsy coin hits the market, then I have no doubt there'll be a number of Uno folk waiting with their Bitcoin in hand.

[But although this is an Uno-friendly zone, it's not an Uno thread as such, which give us the right to keep out the riff raff.]
