Let's get this thing kickin'.

Trade 011
Will pay 1 UNO above current spot price for 1 ozt silver bar or round + 5 UNO for shipping & handling.

Depending on who takes the sale, IMZ, FallingKnife, or BitcoinNational can act as escrow/broker whom I'll pay one UNO for a broker/escrow fee.
We can also negotiate if you've got 2ozt or larger bars that you'd like to sell for Unobtanium. I'd also like to expand on the crypto for physical commodities idea here and use Unobtanium to buy things internationally. Some things I'm interested in are particularly located only in the UK, so if someone from the UK is willing to get me goods and ship to me, I'll pay shipping & handling, + markup on the items for going out of your way to go purchase them. Escrow will work the same way in that I'll pay the UNO to a community trusted member in escrow, you ship the goods once agreed upon final pricing, funds get released to you upon arrival. This should be very enjoyable provided we get some real world trades going on here. Likewise, if you want to pay in a currency, and preferably UNO, you can have me buy you specialty items from the US and I can ship them to you after terms are agreed upon. Happy trading.

Trade 009: Will trade 10 UNO for 1,500 FTC

Feathercoin Address: 6rzmT6AYurEqDckcBDeMaJkouxSc9FTweU

Debating on selling some UNO for BTC if folks are interested. I know it's small right now.

Also willing to double or triple the amount of trade for FTC if you wanna sell more FTC.

Trade 010: Will trade 100 UNO for .225 BTC

I'm watching with interest here, RD. Personally, I need to sit very still for a little while, to see how Uno's price/volume goes -- just $65 on CMC at present.

This doesn't make the D L Ex ridiculous: we all know we're treading water before the Cryptsy coin comes in.

[And dang! D L Ex is suddenly alive!]

Trade for Munti Complete. 83440b921ce9cbbd4fbd59bc7f7d88d577755b67402cf8158e480eea59b3602f

Welcome aboard, Munti!

Thx
Now please explain what we proved beside the fact that it is possible to do trades a lot more awkward than using an exchange  Cheesy

OTC "off exchange" trading is much larger in BTC than all the exchanges volume of BTC combined, and it's literally the entire point of Bitcoin. peer-to-peer trading with no middleman(exchanges/governments/banks).

I believe IMZ posted this in our other thread, (or maybe it was BitcoinNational)

https://vinnylingham.com/the-1-dont-use-bitcoin-exchanges-ff019774d886#.7vcpi44a6

Thx for the link. Never thought about that. Will have to check that blockchain confirms it when I get the time.

@BitcoinNational It's happening in my country too. The banks now want to abandon cash, and goverment doesn't object

It's nothing new at all. It's the point of Bitcoin.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-brokers-trade-millions-without-exchange/

The #BitcoinOTC channels broker million dollar Bitcoin sales nonstop. It's been this way really since 2012. I guess many of us that have been into BTC for at least 4 years are already in the OTC markets, whereas newer guys think that you should use exchanges. Well, you should not use exchanges. Use them for small change transactions.

"Many of the very wealthy individuals that I know who are looking to get into Bitcoin are not going to the exchanges. The limits are not significant enough for them. If a High Net-Worth Individual (HNI) has a net worth of $100m and wanted to place just $1m of that into Bitcoin as a hedge against market disruption, it would be imprudent of him to place that order on the open market. That is a single trade of over 1,000 BTC and it would push his price up (called slippage) significantly."

If you wanted to go and buy $500k of BTC, how would you do that on a shaky exchange, plus you can't get "verified" with that KYC crap without jumping through hoops. "Verifying," not the point of BITCOIN.

Morning, Munti!

Now is probably the time to delve into the stuff on 'the first round' of this experiment. We even had an in-community currency that served as a 'hedge' against Unobtanium's price. As I said, it may take years for these ideas to come to fruition, but there's a shit load of talented characters 'in orbit' around this project. (There are four IT professionals in my camp, 'IndiaMikeZulu,' one of whom was mining when there were only five cryptos.)

Make yourself at home here. Post articles if you like.

Morning, RD! Note first that I/we are sorta 'treading water' while we see how Uno's price fares mid-term/post-Cryptsy-coin dump. Secondly, well, you and I can do a couple of namby-pamby trades: that is, I don't recall how you came not to be a TT, but I sure do understand that you're an Uno-community member of fine standing.

It's both politics, Munti, and a perspective on how Unobtanium should 'work.'

We're libertarians. We want cryptos used as currencies, by ordinary people, as an alternative to banks. But we've watched automated exchanges become the pivot, which has kept cryptos in the 'immature speculative-trading phase.'

Now, I'll be back tomorrow morning -- gotta go do a thing with a neighbour -- and will continue explaining.

EDIT:

I guess that all the guys from Uno and elsewhere, who will be trading here later, also trade on a range of automated exchanges – I do.
But in the long-term, Munti, we are building a trust-alliance oriented to much much more: ‘coin-wholesaling’/merchant-network development, international P2P meetups, local meetups to trade bullion for cryptos, theoretical discussions, etc. If this sounds far-fetched, we’ve actually being doing stuff like this, here in Australia, for well over three years.

Mark

You're saying there are actually a few people left in crypto that are motivated by more than just profit? How refreshing.
So the trust based trading is just as much a tool in building a trust network as it is a way to trade?

Morning, Munti. In theory, we trade all cryptos*, though at present we are focussed on Unobtanium (and Doge?) -- D L Ex is a a descendant of https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unobtanium-in-house-exchange-757232

Now, as you are a newcomer (welcome!), we'll ask you to send first in a Trade. Later, it won't matter.

D L Ex is also the only site on Bitcointalk where you won't have to put up with loud-mouthed ninnies. We're all cool-headed long-timers, and I'd censor the thread if we had difficulties. (We did on Un-Ex -- a long story.)

Finally, we -- 'IndiaMikeZulu' and some Uno folk -- have big ideas involving bullion and P2P etc.

Mark

* So, how does it work? D L Ex is a trust-alliance, and we trade on that basis.

I'm really getting curious now. Why not use an exchange? What is the experiment here? What are you trying to do?
100 pages in the old thread is a little much to read. Especially when its old and possibly outdated.
