The amount of scrutiny that went into adding users to the DT network years ago was something many of us didn't take lightly.  The complaints were often that users felt they should be in DT, regardless of how much real world interaction they had with others or how deserving they were, etc.  Others felt that they were wrongly rated as non-trustworthy because of their actions towards individuals in DT.  It wasn't something any of us took lightly.  Friendships were strained, people had hurt feelings, organizations were attacked, lies were spread, even to this day there are users who have trusted me with thousands of dollars of their money and would do so again, but won't leave me a positive rating out of spite that I took my job seriously and didn't add whoever they demanded to my network.  It was foolish to think that doling out merit, largely to users with little to no real world interaction with users here, could possibly result in somehow establishing a more accurate trust network.  It was a cop out to skirt responsibility and leave us original DT members who had been safeguarding the network to face the backlash by suddenly empowered nefarious users who were held out of the system because they didn't deserve to be in it in the first place.  All I can say is it's still early and the trust system is going to get a lot worse.  The only option at this point is to remove all negatives from the system and let people be judged by how many positives they have, not who kissed the most ass while playing politics.  I won't hold my breath...

It used to be "Profile.aspx", then we updated the routing a little bit and it's now just "Profile", but there is a redirect so "Profile.aspx" still works too. We never had "Profile.p" as far as I know. You used ".aspx" links in August 2020 and then for some reason it became ".p" in September.

It surprised me that bill gator made it onto the list this time around--not because I distrust him or have anything against him, but because apparently a lot of other members do.  Plus I don't think he's been all that active as of late. 

Carlton Banks is another head scratcher, as he doesn't have a lot of positive feedback and has a DT negative as well.  I can't say I fully understand how the DT list is picked each cycle, but it's damn clear to me that it ain't what it used to be.  I think the forum should seriously consider going back to the way it used to be, where it took a lot of time to establish community trust before you could even get on DT2.  True, that depended on how DT1 was selected, but back then it was a major deal to add even one new member to DT2 because of the power it gives an individual.  Now it's more or less no big deal.

Not that it bothers me much, but I want to raise a rhetorical question about the monthly DT elections .. I see a tendency in mutual inclusion and exclusion on the basis of solidarity or revenge. So, users who, for one reason or another, were excluded from DT show solidarity, thereby pushing each other up the stairs, (0, +1).

There are more and more such users, and this becomes a problem, since out of a sense of revenge they exclude those who used the tilde against them. While it may seem like the right move for the average user to exclude people who abuse the trust system, this does not mean that the user will do so, since this step will lead to massive mutual exclusions (we can see how this looks like in mindrust's example).

I just want to say that the problem is that due to the lack of a counterweight, the most common user on DT1 will think twice about using the tilde or not. It seems to me that the simplest and most reasonable solution may be the coordinated actions of 3-5 volunteers that will maintain the balance according to the principle: until another DT1 member makes an exception/inclusion, or the user personally requests an exception from the DT1 network. Although, it all depends on the point of view, since I am sure that from a different angle it may also seem like interference (in the sense that, by and large, such actions will not differ in any way from those discussed)

I haven't looked in on this post for quite a while due to other things needing my attention, but your links in other threads which I've used have all worked.  I'll check some of the other threads out to see if there are any others with broken links.

I believe a lot of these scammers predated trust exclusions, and CITM would eventually remove most of the people who were actively scamming.

The problem was more so that CITM added many people to his trust list who were not invested in the forum. The people on his trust list were more likely to leave the forum, sell their account, or get their account hacked due to long term inactivity.

And how many of those scammers were then voted down once they had been exposed?  If they are suddenly reemerging as DT2 now it can only mean that no one back then took any action against the scammers, or by contacting CITM to advise them they had scammers in their DT list.

CITM was one of the original people on DT1 on the legacy DT system. IIRC, there were many DT2 accounts that were traded or involved in scams that were on DT solely because of CITM. I believe that multiple additional people were added to DT1 when CITM was removed because of how small DT would have been otherwise.

I have not seen a similar incident for a long time ... for this reason I decided to make an exception until an exception appears from another DT1 participant, or until CanaryInTheMine himself requests an exception from the DT1 network, (although I'm sure it's unlikely).
Edited: I removed the tilde temporarily since CanaryInTheMine was also excluded by minerjones.

I noticed this:
Most of this increase is caused by CanaryInTheMine. He used to have more DT1 exclusions than inclusions when he made it to DT1, but now he has DT1 strength 0 (which means he can add users to DT2).
He has 239 users on his Trust list, including almost everyone who left him positive feedback. With that, his Trust score increased from +26 / =0 / -0 to +202 / =0 / -0, which is a new record for Trust Selfscratching.
I don't consider this correct use of the Trust system.
To be fair: CanaryInTheMine has had more or less the same Trust list for years and it probably predates the current Trust system. So I can't blame him, it's up to the users who added him to DT1.

@LoyceV, just wanted to let you know that I have seen the latest DT change and some name added and removed. Meanwhile, I still see that the list is showing wrong result because some of the removed name are still on the DT1 list and the ones added this week are still on DT2 in the thread you just updated. Do you need to update it again?

So little do I pay attention to who's on DT these days that I thought I was already off DT, but apparently I just got shuffled off the list.  Easy come, easy go. 

Oh how much simpler the system used to be and how much more of an honor it was to be on the DT list before this rotation system started.  Sure, there was a lot of bitching about centralization and whatnot, but at least you could be more certain that some jamoke wouldn't end up on DT2 and start throwing his weight around or some other nonsense.  I'm not thinking of anyone in particular, though I believe that's happened since this new system started.

I have never left DT (1 and 2) since it was introduced.  TECSHARE was the first exclusion and I will be the last. 

I think every other member has been removed from DT at one point or another due to the lottery.
