no, I began to know the bitcoin when the price is back down to $ 600

Yeah, and thank god that we were lucky enough that we didn't buy bitcoin when the price was $1200 or else at a moment we would be messed up with bitcoins and surely go through huge losses, I joined bitcoins 8 months ago and that time the price was comparatively low, so even at this stage I am enjoying profits.

Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/

So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?

Off course yes, lot's of people jumped on the train on november 2013, yesterday i read the story of the guy who bought 311 bitcoin for 250k$ and then goxxed, a sad story

is there anyone still holding the btc that they bought when it was 1200?

I would hope many people are doing that - unless they went ALL in @ 1200 & needed to cash out with a loss to accommodate RL issues.

Let's say you had a bunch of btc before it rose to 1200, but used some profit from trading to buy in (with the hopes it'd continue to rise).  Then, BAM!  Pitfalls to abysmal levels.  Why WOULDN'T you hold?

There will be new peak maybe at the end of 2016 or in 2017.  Huh

for a certain point of view a stable price is better.
How you can trust something that today worth 10, after one month 100 and then back 50?
It's difficult new people decide to come "on board" ...

We need some market stablisation force to keep the price within certain range so the price do not go up and down too much.

It's not difficult at all. Every one that is looking realistically at Bitcoin and look at the current market cap, will know that volatility and Bitcoin are tied together for several more years. It's because there are too many early adopters. Their influence on the price is reaching very far. We have to deal with it.

who feel most profitable is when they buy 100 BTC at the price of $ 1 perbtc then sell at $ 1,200
I think, first of bitcoin users at the time, is now a rich man

Yes it is all about prediction and fortune teller thing Smiley

But I think in long term BTC is much higher than $450. People and companies are slowly getting used to this concept.

With patience in holding bitcoin, we will be rewarded. As time goes by, more and more people will use bitcoin.

not using dollar at $1200 but I did buy small amount (0.5BTC) using my easily earned MONA at $1000. spent the thing on cloud mining. and ended up losing a large portion of it.

edited. it was mona not monero.

Wow buying at bitcoin at 1200 face value means you lost over 60% of your investment.
This is the same reason why i am afraid to buy now, since it can come down pretty hard to 230 USD

I didn't buy at $1200 but a friend of a friend of mine did and he spent it right away so he didn't lose a thing then.

I wasn't into bitcoin at the time. For one it was just way too expensive for me to buy and second there are no guarantees that it would stay that up. I'm glad that I didn't buy at the time. I would've regretted it. It would take a very long time to make profits out of those bitcoins.

I didn't although I have a few friends of friends who did and then sold later at a loss as they didn't really understand Bitcoin.
