You would be pretty unlucky if you did. I personally didn't and I don't know anyone that did.

Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/

So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?
Bitcoin also can become idle coins,if they buy when price really high, and if they buy bitcoin when $1200 they have difficult situation,if they sold, they lose some value. If they not sold, they will wait until bitcoin reach $1200 again, and thats impossible for this month.

i'm not buy bitcoin during $1200 because on that time i still don't know about bitcoin. i even don't bitcoin price once ever touch $1200 price. wow it's huge one.

why not? if I continue to see a positive environment behind the development of this e-currencies why not buy more (even if I have the "$" possibility?)
If you look with the eyes of the "investor" you will lost your money (and patience), but if you look as a new technology with strong potential, the price is not a matter Wink

when some one decide to invest for "easy money" well in vast majority of case will lost all funds or a big portion...
like people that buy stock only for "the name" of some company...well marketing could be good to attract people to buy a product but not have the same mean of "company profit"... this sort of feeling it's the same that hit people when using HYIP... they got attracted by the marketing and identifies this expense as a proof of what a company do!
by the way... every time I did to some friends/parents "buy btc price will increase" price go down... I have to stop to make prediction Wink

I know a friend did, ended up selling during the peak in 2015, didn't really understand the currency though, went for some "easy money" and got destroyed.

With simple trading logic, number of selling transaction in $1200 there must be equivalent amount of buying transaction also. So, there are many buyers who bought $1200 here.

No, I didn't buy at that time, but learned more about btc from all that attention. Used faucets for the longest time, before getting higher membership

here then getting into signature campaigns. I have since bought a miner and had  miner from before and sold coins that I have mined since. Better

profits since then. Still planning to buy a bigger miner and mine more altcoins and sell them off. I could write money making ebooks and sell cheap, but

good ones for the supplemental income.

A friend of mine sold at that price but no one know ever decided to buy at that price.  Everyone I know rode the wave up to the marks above the $1200 and when it was coming back down, they dove out of the way.  Who could blame them.

Please tell me when it hit 1200. That would be so cool and interesting.

I think the price will hit $1200 in 2016. Probably just before the halving, or some time in June.

I know some people that bought right at the top, the guys were so pissed off and solt at a loss, bunch of idiots if you ask me, since to win with Bitcoin you only have to wait, and this year we will go higher than ATH, but the weak hands will not reap the benefits.

Thats the thing. If you have bitcoins, you need this thing called patience. You should seen how angry some of my friends were they sold the coins acquired for $10-20 for ~$550, as the price continued to rise to $1,000+. They lost 50%+ profit.  Shocked

Saddly, My first bitcoin purchase was at the 1100s.  I did try to average down and buy more when price continued to go down.  My average cost today is still around $600 per.   Hopefully, I'll break even sometime next year.

what will you do when you break even, sell? i would just wait with selling untill we reached the block halving. by that time we might see the price come closer to $1000. then you make yourself a nice profit too.

I didn't but there was allot of market activity at the time so definitely some people were buying, that's the thing with BTC volatility is the fact the price can shift very rapidly.

I didn't know much about the bitcoin price when it was at $1,200 so i consider my self as lucky that i didn't buy at a higher price.

Lol even I am lucky because I got it for very less and now it's value has almost doubled and I feel rich now btw I don't think more people would have bought when Bitcoin was at $1200
The price at that time was on top and many people bought with a hope that it will be better so not everyone became richer, good to know your similar story with me Smiley

Even if you bought at 1200 it is good. Bitcoin price will increase. Just need to be patience.
