I didn't know much about the bitcoin price when it was at $1,200 so i consider my self as lucky that i didn't buy at a higher price.

Lol even I am lucky because I got it for very less and now it's value has almost doubled and I feel rich now btw I don't think more people would have bought when Bitcoin was at $1200
The price at that time was on top and many people bought with a hope that it will be better so not everyone became richer, good to know your similar story with me Smiley

If someone didn't buy it then price wouldn't go up that higher. Yes I've bought some @1100$ Wink

Hehe true. Tell me did you sold them to prevent a larger loss. or did you keep them.
Hoping for a day to sell them back at 1100 or higher?
I kept some of them to sell at 2000$ (still HODL'ing some of them Smiley )
But I'm not in loss at all, I invested later & made more BTC.

I wish I started in 2012 to know about bitcoin so that I have earn a lot of money in 2013.
But nope I didn't buy id, because I was late it to the party.

I bought a lot of bitcoin but not for that price. And yes if I was participating back then i propably would have bought some expensive coins.
When i started with bitcoin, it was already 550 and going down. So yes I bought quite high... ;(

Totally the opposite thing. Bought 2 when it was 200 because I wanted to buy something online, that never happened so I just hodl them.
When It went to 1200 I felt like I was touching a beautiful girl, I tought it would go higher so I sold those 2 by 1100. Great times Cool

You're extremely lucky to have done this, you already made some nice profits off those 2 coins. Really nice!
I have not bought any bitcoins when it was around $1200, it was just too high for me to buy at the time.

I don't think I would ever buy bticoin if it would reach that amount again. Unless $1200 is the new bottom then I would have to reconsider if I would want to buy or not.

Congrats! Very few people were lucky enough to use the bubble to their advantage. And I wasn't among them either. Though I didn't buy at $1k+ I still regret that I didn't buy at $200 like you did. Good job, mate!

I have heard that people buy when bitcoin is high and when the price is low they sell it. Why is that?
Is that a good thing to do? Because is not profitable to me.
LOL you're wrong it's upside down. traders buy bitcoin or altcoins. when prices are down because it's a great opportunity. they sell when prices rise and profit. but sometimes the They buy when the price is high. they have a plan

No, he's actually right u know, because he was probably referring to new users, who only hear about bitcoin for the first time when it
hits news stories. So naturally the price gets higher, and smart old investors sell at high to those new people, and buy when price correct's itself.

The difficult part was not selling at $1200.

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry in my life was telling me I was insane to not sell.

Turns out I could have cashed everything in, and bought it all back for $900 less a few months later.

If only I had a delorean...

Well, it is hard to tell when the peak is or if it is a longer bubble or actual value increase.  Besides, if you have a delorean, you should just mine for a few weeks back in 2009 when the difficulty was at 1.

NO; It was at that time i first did hear about bitcoin and become interested.
I had the intention to buy, because i didn't want to miss the train, as people say.
Now i'm happy i didn't do it.
However i hope one day we will reach that price again. But i have patience.

What is past is past, never regret about your decision that you make in the past.
In my opinion, you should sell it when the price of Bitcoin is at its peak. Well, it's too late for that. Tongue

Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/

So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?
No, I don't buy nor sell my Bitcoin. But I did buy a few virtual stuff when Bitcoin price is at its peak ($1.2k). Grin
