If you are invested in this coin it is likely due to the trust you have in Jared and his team as they have continued to deliver. I trust his judgment and will continue to buy DGB every week regardless of price. We don't want the price to rely on announcements / "news" or pump and dumps. Crypto is entering the survival of the fittest phase and Digibyte is proving it belongs amongst those that remain. Invest in the vision and be prepared for bumps in the road. All you have to do is hold. If crypto survives Digibyte will be one of a select few that will flourish. Paper money will eventually be replaced and take it's place in history books. Crypto may be the gold rush of our time making this a once in a lifetime investment opportunity. Do your research and invest wisely!!

Depends if overclocked! Without you doing about 5-7 MH/s less!

I am also a bit disappointed too this Digispeed thing was meant to be the next big announcement...looks like its nothing to get excited about Huh

This is just the testing, Do you know what Digispeed will do for Digibyte?

Yes, but to me the hardfork was overhyped way too much, and was advertised as "matching VISA's speed." It's probably better for the team to keep stuff behind closed doors as long as results are not yet confirmed.
After the fork and we all have the new wallets. If on the next day there is a need to match visa in TPS, DigiByte will do it!

I'm a bit disappointed that it won't fetch my slippers or make me a cup of tea though!

Yes I do but the big build up was sort of crushed today its not exactly what we were all expecting TBH with you...I can only see DGB slowly dropping in price over the next few weeks to around 50 sats or lower its been a constant sell sell sell for the last week now.....BUT i guess i will have to remove my buy orders & place them down lower for the dumps that may be pending.

All i am saying is this...Devs if you have some big idea, Announcement or something in the works its best to keep it under wraps until you are in the position to release what ever it may be..I say this because I have been in the very same position with another Altcoin that used the hype factor....it worked for a short space of time & usually by the end of the pump the price of the coin ended up being lower (after the traders ripped it apart) than it was before the hype started.....

It might not be what you were expecting as in matching Visa now but then it does not need to because we don't have that many transactions. It's capable of handling way more transactions than we have and is now set up for the future to grow with demand while minimizing blockchain bloat and capable of surpassing Visa capability. What was it that you were expecting?

That said. If price does take a dive, anyone who knows what they are looking at is going to be very happy with that!

Think differently
Lol at the "its nothing to get excited about"
It may not be exciting for you, but for me it is exciting!
Why the dissapointment? Are there coins out there that have these TPS?
Just wait and see, there will be many more releases in the upcoming years that will be even more exciting than The Digispeed Hardfork

Also on the Arbitage problem i mentioned last evening it is a problem but you do not yet see it, As Cryptsy no longer charge fees for trading & 1 sat difference in price for DGB between any exchange will make the trader profit on all buy/sell

Buy it on @ 78 on Bittrex or any other exchange & sell it on Cryptsy for 79...you will make BTC all day long this way & the price will just continue down & down just because one person feels the need to trade it out...so your beloved DGB is being crushed to death for a few sats per trade...& in all honestly there isnt much we can do about it but pray something happens to the price pretty soon
Rant over see you all in a few months

★ Help us Test The DigiSpeed Hardfork ★

The idea is we stick at 1 MB blocks with 15 second blocks until 2017. Then the block size doubles to 2 mb and then doubles every year through 2035. This allows continued DigiByte growth as bandwidth, hardware and more naturally grows. For instance in the year 2025 it is predicted we will see 100 TB harddrives.100 TB Harddrives

Your spreadsheet claims a 1024MB blocksize by 2035 based on doubling every two years, so either your quote about doubling every year is wrong, or your spreadsheet is wrong...

Blocksize doubling every year is the following. 524288 MB block size by 2035?

2017   2
2018   4
2019   8
2020   16
2021   32
2022   64
2023   128
2024   256
2025   512
2026   1024
2027   2048
2028   4096
2029   8192
2030   16384
2031   32768
2032   65536
2033   131072
2034   262144
2035   524288

You clearly see in spreadsheet, that it's doubling every 2 years, not every year. It's so obvious.

uh...no. bogglor is just confirming if it is indeed doubling every 2 years or every 1 year. DigiByte's excelsheet showed every 2 years but DigiByte had typed "doubles every year". no harm clarifying. but i presume its every 2 years. hard to believe they wouldn't be able to notice the mistake if it was a mistake.

then again, no harm clarifying. so DigiByte, its doubling every 2 years right?
i mean....524288MB! THAT'S 524GB per block! Hashing power required will be over 90000000000000000000000000.....

I don't know. Mine is a 6990, and the two cayman gpu-s on intensity 14 pushed 12Mhs 18Mhs at 60degrees. But I did not forced them much, and I'm not an expert in finding the peak performance.

just one question: do you know how much mh/s a r9 290 usualy should bring in groestl? im bit confused if i configuered everything correctly...

DigiByte w/ DigiSpeed pushed through 25,130 tx's in about 9 minutes without a problem. How many can BTC handle in that amount of time?

https://i.imgur.com/gDWQGAX.png

This is really cool to see. With the bussiness like approach digibyte seems to have and the fact that 25,000 transactions were pushed through in the time bitcoin finds a single block I'm really glad I recently invested into digibyte.

DigiHash Test Pool
DigiExplorer Test Explorer
DigiByte Block Size Projection through 2035

Everyone, we are very close to rolling out the Hard Fork and could use your help with extra miners on the network for one final large test. We could use help specifically on Skein and Groestl but hash on all algos is welcome.

Behind the scenes we have been exploring some of the consequences of raising the block size to 8 MB right away. Through our tests, and there have been several we have decided that raising to 8 MB blocks opens the network to unnecessary attack vectors right away.

With this in mind we have decided on a "Disciplined & Planned" approach to scaling the DigiByte Blockchain through 2035. This can be seen in this spreadsheet here: DigiByte Block Size Projection through 2035

The reward amount will stay the same. We have a lot of room to grow with out current setup, but we want to make sure we have no issues in the future. The safemode warning as well as an issues some users were having with private keys will be fixed in this release as well.

Awesome job Jared and team!
Looking forward to the release and get Digibyte on the top 10!
