Think differently
Bitcoin's price and getting said Altcoins at said amounts
The more i think about it, i'm getting hit harder. When i started getting into the altcoin scene with all the buying and trading, i felt that it was really easy because buying 1 full BTC is easily affordable as long as it was <$500 and altcoins' prices were low too. And so, with 1 Bitcoin, just 1, i could easily buy 1000s, 100 000s or 1 000 000 of said altcoins after doing lots of research and tracking.

Now here is the thing. If say 1 BTC rises to more than $1000, $3000, $5000...it is also true that its harder to get said altcoins at said amounts, not forgetting that altcoin's have their own price too (even more ex if it goes up together with bitcoin's price).

so using DigiByte as an example:
$250 = 1 BTC. I buy 1 BTC and buy Digibyte at 20 SAT = 5 million DGB
$500 = 1 BTC. I buy 1 BTC and buy Digibyte at 50 SAT = 2 million DGB. BUT if i want 5 million DGB, i will need 2.5 BTC and it will cost me $1250.

See the big diff between $250 and $1250 with only 2 small changes in prices???

Even if i am able to convert FIAT > ALTCOIN directly and not FIAT > BITCOIN > ALTCOIN, it doesn't change the situation much as currently, all altcoins' prices are based on Bitcoin's price measured in Satoshi.

Thinking about the Year 2016
The year 2016 will be very happening and interesting if the world of cryptocurrency doesn't get obstructed, crushed and destroyed by whatever (including by itself). putting all that aside and thinking about 2016, be it start mid or end of 2016, just looking at the projects from said altcoins and various startups, we can expect more than half of them to enter Beta or Launch Phase.

I haven't factor in how bad events can help to boost Bitcoin/Altcoin. For e.g., global market crash. But just thinking from the developers point of view, about how they go about with their projects and scheduled datelines, and what will happen at certain stages like Beta and Launch Phase, also knowing that there are many other cryptocurrency projects that are in the works besides theirs, yea...that's the picture i am getting.

Conclusion
Everyone, be glad you are in this early into the altcoin scene...or rather...the Digibyte Scene. those who just got in, you better speed up your research and act decisively fast.
my advice is - before the end of 2015. You don't wanna get in when projects are done.

For those who were early...i advice doing some kind of "go-through-all-resources-and-notes" kind of thing. like tidy up here and there, what to backup, what to keep track of, change and record passwords, split up huge amounts in addresses into smaller amounts, etc. Just to reorganize and get more prepared. Whatever is obselete and gone or are no longer of any use, may want to just put it one side for future references. store them some where.

CHEERS EVERYONE!

Nice analysis and advice, newbies like me are trying to get as much info as possible so we can move forward with our decisions. What do you think DGB value would be for the next semester or upcoming months?

The value will be what the market decides. That's the most accurate answer anyone can give you.  Undecided

I know and I understand what you mean since not sure how productive it would be to speculate on that, I was just curious to check his opinion based on his research.

It seems like most of the mining pools supporting Scrypt on the OP are dead or non functioning. Can we get that list updated? It really doesn't look good when info on the OP is outdated or, incorrect. I'm sure there are more than 3 functioning Scrypt pools for DGB but, the list doesn't reflect that.

And, the link for the "Digihash Easy Miner" on the OP goes to a post where the download link brings back:

"Not Found  The requested URL "/sites/digibyte.co/files/DigiHashSetup.exe" was not found on this server."

If it doesn't exist, how about removing the link? It may seem trivial to some of you but, I assure you, it all goes to professionalism. These forums are where most people land first, lets look good shall we?

Yes you are totaly right. I will get again more active next week to clean up. Will start with Reddit and get updates in. Maybe we can get all informations in view clean overviewed Topics in the DGB forum.

Breakout coming imo: volume ready to move coupled with triangle/inverse H&S technically as head is lowest point though not perfect looking. Assuming we break up here but we'll see.

Thanks for the link. Is it working already?
I don't know what is the business plan behind it but I would suggest adding more brand products, there were some from Logitech, more would be better imho. Smiley Maybe some intangible products can be added too (gift cards, credits)?
Officially, I don't think this site has been launched but I signed up and ordered off it without any problems whatsoever. I believe there are a few things to do with warehouse back end that need to be sorted still but this should all come together very soon. So, if you are in any great hurry to receive your purchase, I'd at least wait for the Official go ahead and nod from Jared!

TokenHouse decentralized cryptocurrency exchange
I'm kind of surprised how well DGB has held it's value after the big pump. I was expecting it to drop much lower than it is currently trading at.

Color me surprised aswell. Fine for me though. Can't wait for DigiSpeed!

DigiSpeed will be huge, no other altcoin can match Visas transactions per second.  Smiley

The question is: Can we really match it. If we can DigiByte would explode me reckons.
Today, I asked Jared personally, are we in the ball park with matching Visa transaction capability with Digispeed and his answer was a resounding YES, he also said that testing was going extremely well so far, without issue were his exact words! The team are working hard to cover all the bases that need to be covered with the hard folk which will take place a couple of weeks after the release of the new wallet, in preparation for it. After this, further additional improvements are planned with soft folk upgrades spanning into next year before we will be able to fully appreciate the real capabilities. The future is indeed looking bright with DigiByte and I feel the word 'DigiByte' itself will become synonymous with what crypto ‘does’ because it looks very much like DigiByte is going do it all!    Cool

Thanks for the update. Things are looking good for DigiByte.

There are so many things going on with this coin, it is actually quite difficult to keep up. Some mining pools have come and gone and new ones do seem to be appearing. It is good when the community members can spot some of these issues and bring them here so that we have a chance of putting them right. Remember many of these issues may actually have nothing to do with DigiByte itself but as a community, we can all work together in keeping members informed.  Smiley

I can see one outstanding problem with DigiByte, that will stand in the way of its adoption and that is;

It looks too good to be true!  Roll Eyes

It might have been asked these last weeks already, but i was wondering how many dgb are mined daily right now?
I know about the reduction,

Thx

For all the information about the network and market data you can have a look at www.Digistats.info, We are now at ~2179 dgb

The rich list is wrong, there is address with close to 105 million on bittrex which doesn't show up on rich list.
it is because you can not see the address dgb bittrex in rich list

Yes that's right plus I highly doubt Bittrex has all that on one address by the exchange, remember its an exchange and the 105m DGB refers to a specific account, not a specific address. There might be some minor errors in the block explorer but that's definitely not an error. I appreciate the feedback though!

That 105 million is owned by one user but yes it could be split in multiple addresses. I can see my total in the top 50 (bittrex) and it's the exact amount.

"We've added a balance distribution chart that shows how large the top 50 wallets are."

      - That's from Bittrex's new features announcement: https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204790560-New-Features-on-Bittrex

I think those are real, individual, DGB addresses, not exactly wallets in the truest of senses since wallets can have more than one address, but real blockchain addresses nonetheless. I don't think the same user can have more than one active address per coin - correct me if I'm wrong.

No I'd say you are pretty bang on. I'm sure you can create and have more than one active address associated with your account. The rich list is not a rich list in the truest sense of the word but more the largest single chunks of dgb kept in one place and therefore must be in the control of a single entity. A person could control the top ten or even all of them in a single wallet.
