Interesting what everyday people think about a digital currency in general: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbFgol7d2Q4

It's literally going to be years before the average man in the street gets involved in Cryptographic Digital Currencies (and until we start getting serious about our naming conventions, descriptions and definitions, we won't be helping them out at all).

That's why I say over and over again that the #1 priority right now is determining a short to medium term target audience, and that audience, in my opinion, is computer literate people, starting with gamers (and I know that DGB is working in that direction - this is not a criticism, it's just another reiteration of what I think is fundamental to DGB short to medium term strategic outreach).

Great video BTW!

We need to be realistic. Even if people know about it, it's just not easy for anyone to enter crypto. There are so many hurdles to pass through. At the moment the only real benefit is speculation because the infrastructure is not in place for anything else. Crypto at the moment is just like the early computer adopters, they were hobbyists and special interests. It wasn't accessible to normal people until you could just click a button to operate it, rather than enter a string of code.

I really need to say that here in The Netherlands the people really are curious about it... In my store i already have 15+ payments in 3 months. DGB NLG and BTC.
The Guldencoin guys are doing a awesome job introducing crypto into Holland and they use some great apps etc to promote this.
The project i'm working on will involve Digibyte & Guldencoin and i'm sure they will strengthen eachother.

Can you explain this a bit more on this moment i don't share your thoughts.
I would rather like to know your thoughts on why not?
2 months ago Jared visited me in Holland and we have also been meeting with the Guldencoin team and community..Just sharing thoughts and they are implementing Multi-algo so they had some questions for Jared.
I really like Guldencoin and everything around it and so do allot of Guldencoin members the other way around,They really like Digibyte.
The plans,Community and the way they/we move forward,I really see something happening over there and see the similar things in Digibyte and community.
Guldencoin is moving forward in a rapid speed and spreading over The Netherlands really fast,As some of you know the Gulden is the currency we used before the euro and people really like this idea.
And me as a Digibyte enthousiast would love to combine these 2 coins.
Soon there will be more info and i hope we can change your thoughts.

Agreed. It's not easy, and there are many hurdles to get past. However, the big stumbling block as I see it is basic understanding. The one thing that 95% of the people interviewed in the video have in common is their complete lack of knowledge regarding the subject - so much so that they freely and uninhibitedly admit it humorously and almost without regret, as though it doesn't matter anyway. Until that changes, the hurdles and hoops won't even come into play.

I know people, lots of people, who work in IT that still don't know much about Cryptographic Digital Currencies. That's another place where we need to begin to educate. It's a logical place since Cryptographic Digital Currencies are so closely linked to information technology. As we see in that video, to a non-tech person, Cryptographic Digital Currencies are extremely intangible, almost imaginary, while to the computer literate person that changes fast and radically. If US bankers are looking at the cryptographic blockchain as a viable model, you can bet computer literate folks will see the "tangibility" of Cryptographic Digital Currencies just as fast. Gamers represent a huge segment of computer literate people, but they're not alone by any means. How many hundreds of thousands of network administrators are there in the world who still haven't heard of DigiByte? . . . there are many highly developed and prestigious forums that those people use. Hint, hint, hint.  Wink
