I occasionally sell enough to cover power, depends on how much I need to or not. My 290X card runs stone cold - doesn't even touch 60C - and measured with a power meter (a while ago, it melted later, so I need a new one) it used around 100W, not counting the system power use. So, plug in 13.3MH/s into WhatToMine with a power cost of $0.11 USD and power use of 100W, and you get a positive result. My other cards are slightly more energy efficient, I believe, when I last looked.
My electronic bill says $0.11 USD but I looked deeper into this and its true cost is $0.18. Try multipling your TOTAL cost for electricity and see what you get. I used 1000 kilowatt last month so 1000 x $0.18  = my electricity bill. It surprised me.
I have - I kind of expected them to lie on the bill, it makes sense if you want your customers to use more power.

Stop complaining and start buying more dgb Cool

+1 already i have a few Digibytes on the moment in this coin for 60% the other 40% in a Dutch coin the reason i put more in this one is i have more faith in the plans of Jarred he want a world wide adoption for Digibyte and is traveling around the world to complete the plans so in my opinion it fits perfectly in the promesses Smiley The other coin was made up to implement for all the dutch citizens but i miss the spirit to complete thad plans Cool

My 2 Digi cents Wink

I like DGB (and will keep buying from sha mining proceeds) - but too much fluffy lovey dovey bullshit positive posts here - time to make it a serious coin and get to the real business

Ow yes this makes it way more real business.

That fluffy lovey dovey bullshit positive posts here have respect to others and brought allot of others inhere aswell.
Dont need to come in here and say BS things like that.

You dont have to mine SHA,ITS A OPTION. A option that not allot of other coins have.
If DGB price in BTC was anywhere near where it should be, my SHA miners would be switched on mining it. If BTC price was anywhere near where it should be, my miners would be switched on mining that and I'd use the proceeds to buy DGB. In the mean time I buy BTC with $, because I can't currently buy DGB with $, and convert them to DGB. Simple really!

no

Hi this is my first post, i've been watchin this forum for a while and started trading alts, mainly digibyte. I have a question i cant find an answer anywhere just hope someone can clear it up. Is the price of an altcoin affected by the price of bitcoin? Or is it like pegged to bitcoin?
yes
What do you mean no? If BTC price doubles in $ then DGB price doubles in $. If BTC price half's then so does DGB price.

so why is everyone not mining at the "official pool" digihash? Tried it (sha) and price needs to x10 (x5-6 today) approx before its worthwhile or equiv to mining BTC?  Why anybody mine DGB? - just mine BTC an buy DGB? Buying still supports DGB - perhaps even more than just mining to support network? Please correct my mistakes?

That's not even close to being correct.

And if Coinwarz would ever get its website updated, DGB would be at the top with Diamond and Groestl just like it is on WhatToMine (which has been updated ever since the multi-algo fork, and is THE reliable profitability calculator that I recommend).

Noticed that what to mine doesn't have Qubit algo, that is way up in profit. For ccminer.

a question,is the officer pool digihash.co fee not 3%?
i check the blockchain,the fee is 4%.

Some people mine just to support the network, but last I checked, DGB-Qubit is profitable for me.

I don't sell any of the DGB I mine.  I mine script so, technically, I suppose DGB would be profitable if I decided to sell coins to pay the electrical expense.  But, why would I sell at today's exchange rates to cover electrical costs?  Expenses are tax deductible.  I believe the price of DGB will continue to go up.  I've used my equipment to heat my house this winter (literally haven't turned on my furnace this year).  So, I'm taking a deduction on what would be heating expenses and keeping the coins for the long-term.

I don't mine SHA so I've never looked into the profitability.  Everyone's circumstance is different.

Now, if you want to call WhatToMine and Coinwarz frauds,
please do so in so many words,
and if not, please take your BS somewhere else.

try it........... with a sha miner

@ HR - your comments detract from DGB

we are most likely on the same side - so consider that before the BS stuff

the real life mining numbers dont lie

if you got sha hash power - mine BTC and buy DGB

appreciate anyone who may prove me wrong

do the test...........

Cheers usukan

I've done the real life numbers as well, and they are exactly the same.

I didn't realize DigiByte had an iOS wallet. Looks like it's been out a month now. Very cool.  May end up doing some lessons on it at some point.

I really like the IOS wallet. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to get it up and running, but it's a nice little app.  A great second wallet.

Obviously, I don't use GPU mining to heat my house ... but, GPUs serve multiple purposes, so they have multiple use values.  My equipment doesn't serve any purpose except to make heat, noise, and DGB.  2 of the 3 are good right now.  Only DGB is good year 'round.

Why try to prove you wrong?  It's not about being right or wrong.  Your logic assumes that people immediately sell the coins they mine (or trade them).  Mining calculators, and even current mining stats, are instantaneous measures.  They can't predict the future.  Everyone will make their own decisions about the right choices for their mining.  There can be multiple right answers.  I believe in the long-term value of DGB.  That's reason enough for me to mine it.

so why is everyone not mining at the "official pool" digihash? Tried it (sha) and price needs to x10 (x5-6 today) approx before its worthwhile or equiv to mining BTC?  Why anybody mine DGB? - just mine BTC an buy DGB? Buying still supports DGB - perhaps even more than just mining to support network? Please correct my mistakes?

That's not even close to being correct.

And if Coinwarz would ever get its website updated, DGB would be at the top with Diamond and Groestl just like it is on WhatToMine (which has been updated ever since the multi-algo fork, and is THE reliable profitability calculator that I recommend).

a question,is the officer pool digihash.co fee not 3%?
i check the blockchain,the fee is 4%.

Some people mine just to support the network, but last I checked, DGB-Qubit is profitable for me.

As I said, it's profitable for me, as in, I am making money over my power cost of $0.11 USD per kWh - why would I need another reason to mine?
