I don't think so too. Buying some alts is like upgrading bitcoins. That is the branches of bitcoins the alternative coins so that people will buy bitcoin and other cryptos to balance each value of it. Buying some alts can also lead to success because some of them right now have a big potential in future.
well, every body have their own strategy. there are a lot of people that sell alts buy btc, but there are a lot of people too that sell btc buy alts. so i think it depends on the person own strategy.
You're right about personal abilities, if you want to listen somebody else you will not getting a profit from the transaction or buying or selling something. Only own knowledge except in this area.
I sold all my altas and bought bitcoins, because I believe that it will grow and bring me a lot of profit.
At the point of time where you consider selling the altcoins and buying the bitcoin, if that point is when there is a dip in the entire market than keeping your bets on any coin could result in an indefinite loss of investment, at that time the best more is to extract your money from the market and wait because market situation will change in near future and the situation will change.
Why not, if the market promises more profit for btc. A good choice is when you choose something to make a profit. btc or other coins have the same opportunity and not just focus on btc. Your analysis is the best, do not follow the trend or you will get stuck
It all depends on the research of people who will sell alt and buy Bitcoin. And if it is a profitable thing, why not ?! all there must be a good reason, because our goal here is all because of money. if you sell Alt and buy Btc, sure will get a lot of money, then it is good to do.
Bitcoin is one of the greatest sources of investments recently, so I usually do this way with coins from the project I dont fully trust in, if I believe, that the project will rise soon, then I dont sell its tokens.
I really have more faith in btc than in the alts, but I also take into account that the market is still young and there still is some place for altcoins which can potentially give me bigger multiplier than the bitcoin's growth. For that reason I invest part of my funds into alts, but eventually if bitcoin keeps dominating I may convert them into btc on the peak.
I follow your way because I think it is a good thing to make a profit. i get altcoin from bounty and sell to bitcoin.
It all depends on what state the market is. If the market too volatile than keeping your money in the altcoins is a big risk cause at that time it could even reach the value of zero however when it comes to these conditions the strategy of investing in BTC is better since it is more stable.
Every strategy is right or wrong depending on the time and the investor is the one who decides what to invest in the project to receive the highest profit. Currently I will not sell altcoin to buy bitcoin because it is very bad, if the bitcoin increase then the altcoin will increase accordingly so you do not need to sell altcoin to buy into bitcoin now. If i were you why you don't wait for the right time to buy bitcoin? Wait until you can have profits to your altcoins not sell your altcoins for a very small price just to buy bitcoin. After you sell your altcoins with profits that is the time to buy bitcoin not sell for a small price.

I do not approve this kind of strategy, there are still valuable coins such as ethereum so you should not sell your coins and turn it to bitcoins because the market prices are dumping.
For me, it looks strange. I think that if you hold different altcoins you can make more profits than if you have Bitcoin. There is no need to make such a strange exchange. Just think it over, my friend.
It depends to the altcoins if that is potential altcoins like ethereum then I don't convert it into bitcoins, but if not a potential altcoin then I should convert it into bitcoin or convert it other potential altcoin. You know some altcoins can multiple increase in a short time.
I'm currently freezing my account. I will not buy or sell during this time. This only makes me lose more money.
Altcoin price is $18.54 which is a good price and inside the circle of all of us so its investment is mainly favorable for short term because there is not much gap between its low market and high market value. The price is not fluctuating with big gaps so if a person wants to invest then he can surely invest here. If savings are low and you desire for the Bitcoin then start from Altcoin and upgrade into the Bitcoin after making profit here.

Nowadays situation show us that BTC is safer than alts because it loose its price slower. Some alts fall far beyond ICO price.
I agree, if you look to the price of altcoin and bitcoin you will see that altcoin is much lower than bitcoin price, but selling altcoin just to buy btc is not ok to me, having bitcoin is great but always remember that don't put all your money in one basket.
it all depends on the current market value of bitcoin, since bitcoin is volatile, we cannot fairly say that btc is always the best out there, yes it is best to put your money in everything it can buy, not only btc, alt coins are dependent too on bitcoin price, if btc drops, alts drops too, we cannot sell alts to buy btc everytime the price drops, it depends on how rapid the price increase will be, may it be alts or bitcoin.
