In my opinion, altcoins for buying bitcoin's selling strategy is not good, if bitcoin is too strong, then there can be no competition, so that users get bored and leave bitcoin immediately, so it will kill bitcoin.

No probably my strategy regarding on that matter is that sell those altcoins that are not so good when it comes to volatility or its coin utility and trade it with bitcoin. We should remember that bitcoin is the only dominant crypto in the market and all others are just altcoins even the establish one altcoin which is ether. My faith is with bitcoin and i believe also in altcoins.

I read this article, but I want to see opinions, would you sell all your alts to have only bitcoin now ? I don't think this is recommended

Altcoin is part of cryptocurrency though not as good as Bitcoin but Altcoin can also give people more advantages than if only trade Bitcoin. There are so many Altcoins  potentially growing and there is no need to worry about when investing in Altcoin but be more careful on coins that can harm you.

Yes, you can invest in many cryptocurrencies but I do not see any sense in exchanging your altcoins for Bitcoins. Some alts will bring you more money than BTC.

on my opinion dont sell your alt coins because there is some altcoins  that has a good potential, just hold all of your coins until the price is going higher. But if you really want to sell your alt coins to have a bitcoin just sell half of your altcoins. Dont focus in one coin we need to explore another coin to earn more profit.

Depends on how much you trust bitcoin and other coins. For example if you believe that bitcoin is a more sure thing safer investment than yeah you can invest on bitcoin, maybe put a bit of ethereum near it as well since it became a huge coin with bitcoin as well. However if you believe that there is a coin out there that will rival bitcoin and ethereum and if not just be the third to them and go huge than you can invest on that as well. It all depends on which altcoin you are talking about and how much you trust that coin.

The article was written last May of this year and what maybe a good trading strategy that month may not be as effective to apply today, just like what works for you as a day trader does not work for me as a long term holder. Usually when Bitcoin is starting to recover, alts are being dumped and its the other way around if Bitcoin is down, Alts will be up.

We have different opinions about this strategy but for me it's a no because you can also earn huge profit in altcoins if you do it correctly. I can say that you need to have at least two or three altcoins in your wallet so that you have more ways to earn money and not just only focusing on Bitcoin. You need to explore here in crypto currency if you want to fully maximize yourself about this industry.

Yes, i agree, we need to explore more in cryptocurrencies so that we can be able to learn more and find good opportunies to gain more knowledge and at the same time more profit too.

I'm currently freezing my account. I will not buy or sell during this time. This only makes me lose more money.
Altcoin price is $18.54 which is a good price and inside the circle of all of us so its investment is mainly favorable for short term because there is not much gap between its low market and high market value. The price is not fluctuating with big gaps so if a person wants to invest then he can surely invest here. If savings are low and you desire for the Bitcoin then start from Altcoin and upgrade into the Bitcoin after making profit here.
You can only decide like that if the future return in altcoin is not good and you can maximize your profit at some point in future if you sell altcoin and buy Bitcoin. Usually altcoin gives good short term profits. ETH is also good for long term investment so better do the comparative analysis before selling altcoin for Bitcoin. Better would be if you keep both in your portfolio.

I honestly think many of these Alt coins are pump n dump schemes. You can make some good profits on Alt coins, if you time your exit before they collapse. The most stable and reliable Crypto currency, since 2009 is Bitcoin and that is not even disputable.

So my strategy is to play with Alt coins and to move my profits to Bitcoin in the end. Bitcoin is my store of value, like Gold is for many other investors.  Wink

We have personal strategy applied for every situation in the market, some may have same strategy like you just posted, and have different exit plan. Market is Volatile, anything can happen at any given time, the price value of Bitcoin may goes up and goes down, Yes, i am more inclined to Bitcoin as my main coin in investment. Traders often time use the same strategy for short term transaction on the market.

Many people actually do that because of the idea that Bitcoin still is  the best coin around that could give a person the best profit possible come the time it gains back what it lost after several dumps. However, I will not totally dispose all of my altcoins to buy Bitcoin because there are still some altcoins, like Ethereum, that is worth holding. And also, in this market, diversity is key, so it's better to have a couple of coins rather than just one. Everyone has their objective to buy bitcoin or altcoin, there is different reason each other, thats why every coin have a fans, some of them fanatik.

It will be depending on the users and the holders of the said currency, selling alts to buy some bitcoins is like giving yourself an opportunity to gain more profits, because I still believe to the potential of bitcoin by returning its price in its original state.

I can say that Bitcoin is sometimes worthy to buy, but also there are some great alternatives to it, that are also worthy of our global investings.

Right now my strategy is to always focus on altcoin. Because I am very sure if bitcoin rises, altcoin will also rise. Because bitcoin prices do not tend to increase sharply. In contrast to altcoin which always shows improvement at all times. And my main target is how to get as much ETH as possible.

In 2017, this strategy was very relevant, but now it is not working in a declining market. Do not sell your altcoins now, wait until they grow again.

Each to their own but i don't think that is a great idea.  To start with, selling of your alts at this time will almost certainly result in some losses due to the red markets at play which isn't only affecting alts but also affecting bitcoin. IMO, depend on the alts that you hold, if market conditions are right, you make more from trading your alts than you do simply selling them off and keeping sats.  I get the sentiment that bitcoin is more of store of value for most now, but unless you hold a few bitcoins at least, personally its not worth me sitting on less than 1 bitcoin.  Its hardly gonna jump from 4K to 20 overnight.

I actually plan to sell all of my altcoins and convert them to bitcoins and just hold them until the end time I can say this is the amount I'm targeting.
It really depends if you are thorough and want to make sure your money is in the right coin.

That's not a good idea I think. Selling alts will give you loss in this current market situation because all alts are in very cheap price now, even Bitcoin is very low now. I suggest you to hold your alts and sell that for big profit or at least for a decent price. Never sell alts and invest in Bitcoin, you can invest in Bitcoin with the spare money you have or sell your alts when they are in good price and then reinvest in bitcoin.

I don't totally approve this. This is because there are some altcoins that grow faster within a period of time than Bitcoin. As such, I wouldn't sell all my altcoins for BTC. Most alts have a more room for growth and expansion than Bitcoin. If at all you want to sell, you can sell the ones that are not too promising.
