Every project has its own whitepaper and if they don't have one then it is suspicious. When you're going to invest in a certain project you have to learn or study their background before investing to them. Whitepaper has all the information and it discuss about their plans, vision, mission and goals of their project. If you want to become successful and to prevent your hard-earned investment to a scam you should read.

Besides that I read white paper, I look at the site, the road map, I read the forum and reviews, I do a temporary excerpt in a few days. This is done to make decisions not on the wave of emotions. I weigh the factors affecting the future success of the coin and make a decision.

in every whitepaper the important thing is the prospect they offer and I think we can focus on reading that part alone as well as the team that supports it and others I think the common things are
Project outlook and team description are undoubtedly important parts of white paper, but I advise reading the white paper completely. This is important if you want to participate in the ICO. And even better to look for additional information about the project.  Wink

Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

A very strange question. I always thought that you need to study the project before investing in it. Completely explore all the pros and cons. And only then make a decision about investing. It turns out that not everyone does this? Very surprised at this point). I read the white paper of all the projects in which I take part.

Well if you want to invest in an ico or an existing coin it would be a good idea to read it and i always do. I know people can just buy a whitepaper or take i from another project but it is a pretty good guideline. But i think most people who are investing wouldn't understand half that is in it.

Do you ever need to read whitepaper for existing project? Example etherium? I dont think so.
As i know, read whitepaper is important but only for new ico project but not for existing project.

Most of the time i don't read whitepaper but if a project catches my attention and i've got interested on joining their bounties or even investing on the ICO itself of course i tend to read the whitepaper carefully because this motivates me to do so if all the facts and information i needed is written there.

I think there is a huge wave of investors that dont read the whitepaper before they are going to invest into projects. But it is really needed before investing in a project for your own security.

It's about my money and my time, I don't want to lose them because of laziness. The whitepaper is the only tool we have to understand something of the business, and even it's not perfect, with a little attention we can detect at least the most obvious scam.

I rarely do it but I should do it more often. Especially, if you are going to invest a decent amount of funds.
If you don't have enough time, read their presentation or at least onepager. Check ICO's social channels and google them, read some reviews about them on reddit and twitter.

I agree with you that it may be a waste of time for some. However, if you really want to exert due diligence in checking the legitimacy of a project, then it is one of the boring things that you should endure. At leastby reading in, you could get to learn something about the project you are joinig, especially if the information is a make or breatk type of information.

Yes ofcourse i can read whitepaper if you want to know everything about this campaign good or not just read all the details one ICO because this are very important to know everything  about whitepaper
Yes, I also always read the white paper of the project, in which I am going to invest my money and time. In my opinion, it is very important to fully understand all the details of the project that interests you. I think that it's even silly to invest without studying the project.

I can't even be sure about the whitepaper to be real or fake or just copied and posted from somewhere else.
So generally, I try to get info from those who have much more experience.

The whitepaper has all of the ICOs idea, it mentions things like the problems and the solutions. It's all theory but they want to put it into practise.

you have no choice but to read the whitepaper. if you plan on investing and don't want to be a victim of scam, you really have to read it real hard to distinguish which is legit from scam.
yep, if you really want to know everything about that particulat campaign then you have no choice but to read about their platform. If you're not going to read it then its like, you're just wasting your money for them.
