It seems to be standard practice, and par for the course. I haven’t done many ICOs but I’ve kept a level head so far.
I've been working in the crypto market for more than 5 years, but still I can sometimes panic during the fall of the coin rates. I continue to look for ways to deal with this problem.
If you already 5 years in the crypto market than maybe you can give some tips here for new people to the crypto space? I'm also interested in some ideas which may help me in the future.

panic will never help so try to calm ylurself and to calm others so they woyld not make mistakes thwy are going to rebretIf this money is yours, I mean, you haven't borrowed them, you shouldn't panic. This is just the money that you've made yourself. You can earn some again unless you panic. Otherwise, you'll make more mistakes.

It depends how much you panic, if you are a day trader then it's very much natural and to be honest required that you do panic but that should not affect your rationality at this like these it's better not to make a decision than to make any failed decision
As I have noticed these days, when the ICO hasnt finished yet and the sale was still on going, the bounty tokens has already been distributed and also unlocked they sell it immediately on forkdelta or etherdelta for a much lower that ICO price, in which it could greatly disturb the sales in tokens. As for you the investor on that token, would you panic when you see that the tokens you own already selling at much lower price?
I think no, there are times when the price of tokens that we have it's price does not match our expectations. we have to be ready about it. what needs to be done is to stay calm and positive thoughts. lest the decision be taken ends with regret. if we can still hold it, why not. a true trader should always be optimistic. that the market price will rise again and according to what is expected.

that is why as a developer, should have plan B. get some parts of the money from ICO and get ready, if the bounty hunters and airdropers dump their coins i will buy all back , after which i will set the price with that i am sure to get the best value for my coins. No need of panicking.
