It is actually possible to see an altcoin beat against Bitcoin in the future if ever someone would create a coin that has the same blockchain as Bitcoin, the future is unpredictable and we can't really tell what the world of cryptos bring us. But that is yet to be decided and created and for now the only coin that may have the potential to beat Bitcoin in the chain is its copycat BCC.

Some says ethereum has a big chance to race against bitcoin, but i think ethereum is too young to have that power to race against bitcoin. It will need a lot of developments that will took for so may years.

It's really hard to predict what will happen in the near future, especially I am not a fortune teller to answer your question sir. Maybe it could be my opinion only that I can share. So I think it will not harm bitcoin's dignity instead bitcoin help alts to become more progressives due to bitcoin dignity's.

Sounds like there is chance of happening that. Bitcoin is also very unstable in its price plus if the fees are killing its transaction, like in the send we can't name smaller transaction then it will loose the customer base. People might just try out altcoins with less fees and easy to transact. Moreover, after taking big fees also the transaction confirmation takes about hours to couple of hours which is ain't good thing for dignity of bitcoin. There has to be major changes in the way bitcoin is getting transacted otherwise in the near future it might just start the down fall. This we don't want to happen as many investments are being dependent on bitcoin rather than altcoins.

You got the point bitcoin still not improve and every year it will be more worst since the transaction fee is really high these days i think that bitcoin fees can be increase more in the future that pushing other bitcoin holders to use other altcoin just to save in paying higher fees..
For now there are still no altcoin actually can be accepted by many merchant so still bitcoin will remain that acceptable and support by many merchant..
That is why altcoin has no chance if they don't let other merchant accept ethereum as payment..

Altcoins have been trying to overtake Bitcoin for a long time now, with varying levels of success (if I am not wrong, Namecoin or NMC was the first altcoin, created on April 2011). Till now, Bitcoin has been able to withhold the challenge from altcoins, but I can't guarantee about the future.

Agreed with you. At the moment, nothing can replace the bitcoins as it has earned that reputation over the years. Going forward the price of the bitcoins will keep increasing and if any alt gives the competition just like eth, it will be really difficult for them to match up the popularity of bitcoins.

That's the hardest problem encountered by other crypto-currency developers, bitcoin has become a prima donna in the world of crypto currency although there are some crypto currencies can attract investors but it happens just a moment like eth that has slowly lost its devotees.

Yes off course altcoins have a great future I think the work is moving from paper currency to digital currency and if we move digital currency then in future demand of the digital currency will be high and then demand high the automatically go up.

As far as the exchanges go I believe alt coins give you the potential to earn more money quicker but with a bit more risk. Obviously you can just hold btc , buy low, hold repeat but alt coins tend to be a bit sporadic and you can make a bigger profit since they are cheaper and mostly directly correlate with the current price of BTC. As far as surpassing in the usefulness aspect, there are some promising alt coins out there with their own purpose but I don't really see anything replacing bitcoin in the near future.

Probably yes. All cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, depends on the market demand in terms of its value. If the demand is low for Bitcoin, it will make its price fall. It id just that, bitcoin remained and considered to be thr no. 1 crypto because it has a large community. And if its users will transfer to alts, because they find alts more benifitial to them, negative effect will go to Bitcoin.

By your definition of alternate coins, is it just alternate currency coin against BTC or plainly alternate coin?

If we are discussing about just currency coins then I think it will take a large amount of effort and new technology to surpass BTC which then lead to a price market spike (Nimiq might be disruptive in the future). If it's plainly alternate coin, then sure there's quite a few that can definitely rival BTC if they managed to achieve what they are set out to do, once again only if they do achieve their vision. A couple of these includes Golem and SIA.
