Almost all airdrop videos on YouTube are all scams, do not try hunting for airdrops using YouTube videos, those airdrops links in Youtube videos are all fake links and once you connect your wallet your tokens will be wiped out.

Find the project team or the o projects official telegram group and ask them if they are doing any airdrops or giveaways, this is the perfect way to expose or know the truth about any airdrop campaign.

Let's be careful what we connect our crypto wallets to.
In my opinion it is better to skip airdrops completely, now it is completely true there was a time there was some money to be made out of them, but the competition for it grew exponentially with the use of bots and the quality of airdrops dropped considerably as the majority of them do not pay their bounty hunters, and when you out those factors together it becomes very clear the time to collect airdrops has passed and it is never coming back.

Not sure if you just saw a airdrop video from hacked channel where some kind of crypto conference is showing and also has a title of huge bucks giveaway/airdrop. If so, then don't fall for those. Also joining airdrop using telegram bot is totally scam or fake because 99% won't pay you until it's a good project who are doing that airdrop officially. Wink

Find the project team or the o projects official telegram group and ask them if they are doing any airdrops or giveaways, this is the perfect way to expose or know the truth about any airdrop campaign.

Well, there is few types of airdrop like incentive testnet with airdrops or retroactive airdrop. For retroactive airdrop, there won't be any official statement from team. For example, early users got UNI or 1INCH or PARA airdrop for using the dex platform. So better look into twitter threads where any defi researchers post details if there will be airdrop for it or not.

You can follow BitByte Crypto for such contents and here's a thread for you to look into if you're interested into incentive testnet for airdrop or retroactive airdrop: https://twitter.com/officialbitbyte/status/1628727899942690816

Let's be careful what we connect our crypto wallets to.

That's why always use burner wallet where you won't store any kind of crypto and will be used for airdrops to interact with any platforms.

...When UNI airdropped 400 tokens to each wallet that used them, people tend to try out other DEX thinking those dexes will also airdrop tokens. Unfortunately, no real airdrops with real value anymore that I know since.

You missed the most generous airdrop from DYDX, the size of which ranged from 5 to 130 thousand dollars, depending on the daily volume of the participant. After that, there was an airdrop from Optimism and a lot more not so generous giveaways. But all of them, unlike what the OP writes about, were retro airdrop, which was paid to early participants of the project.
The airdrop must have a large capital to swap on the dex including bridging other networks or more interactions on the dex, so the chances are higher, so this requires quite a large amount of capital and some are brave, some are not.

A friend even got 7k from their Optimism since the beginning of joining this project and in the end the result of this airdrop was up to thousands of dollars that he got.

Then there is from the Aptos testnet? that's quite a big prize that is generated.

Airdrops are easy money before when the time of ICOs were soaring but then it has come to lie low when the bear market has came. And also, when the market has been back again for 2021 which the bull run came.

There were some few airdrops that have became profitable for those eligible which has been given away. I don't join most airdrops that I see even if I think they're profitable, I just don't feel that I should join any of it.

The airdrop is one that gives me an advantage when I become one of the people on the winner list, and what I get from participating in this airdrop has a large nominal value. I still follow it to this day, but not the way it used to when I first got into the cryptocurrency space. The first pass I barely missed a single airdrop (because I took a lot of airdrops in one day). But now I only take part in a few airdrops, in the sense that I choose which airdrop has the potential even though the win rate is very small because there are many people participating there.

They still come even if you don't seek airdrops. They are however not worth it anymore unlike back in 2017 when tokens you get from airdrop are listed on exchanges. You rarely see them listed these days and if they were to some unknown exchange, they only are worth $0.002 while you only get 100 tokens.

Even though it is not all like that for affiliates through video, but on average they are like that even though it is actually for a hunting airdrop in the current condition only wasting time.
I have done something like this but it has been a long time since I stopped my activities as part of the airdrop hunter because it is not too worth it in terms of profit in terms of the time I was throwing to look for airdrop.

I'm not hunting for airdrops anymore after reading that to get prizes from the airdrop program, users have to do a complete KYC even though the prizes are not much. It's not worth the risk of stealing customer data already in the airdrop project, which can happen anytime. Not to mention the stories about connecting our wallets to get the airdrop which will cause our funds or assets to be stolen by scammers, but if you still want to hunt for the airdrop, you have to be really careful and read all the terms. If you doubt, you should not register and look for another airdrop.

Airdrops and ICOs are dead. They do not make sense anymore! The crypto community now understands that there is no need for thousand different coins for thousand different tasks. All can be done using one cryptos only. That's why new coins are not seeing much success unless it is bringing in some drastically refreshing ideas.

So I have stopped taking part into any airdrops or bounties long back. It doesn't give any value for my time and effort.

It is true that the vast majority of airdrops do not bring any profit, which is why they are usually a waste of time, and you can lose other cryptos through carelessness. If someone absolutely wants to take part in airdrops, I suggest creating separate wallets only for this purpose and never use the main wallet in such situations. I haven't participated in typical airdrops for a long time, but I think that sometimes it's worth working on the testnets of promising projects. In such situations, there can sometimes be a good reward.

Sometimes but unfortunately, most of the airdrops are not paying nowadays, and you will be lucky already if they will reward you after the release of the project, even if it is just small.
Airdrop promoters via YouTube cannot be generalized as scammers, they can be affiliate hunters, sponsorships, marketing service providers, or others.
But I can confidently say that airdrop hunting is mostly a waste, the rest are scams including the ones you describe.

If you ask me about the title, then not really, maybe once a year or not any.
Unless they are paid from doing so and are aware of the possibility that those who would participate won't be paid afterwards; will be a different thing. But sometimes, promoters are also victims especially if they won't earn from what they did to spread the populairty of a certain project. This unfortunate outcome has been existing for ywars in this industry but I think before is still better than the present because there are more non paying projects than the ones whoch does.

Never connect your main wallet, you can always use a new wallet for airdrops only, finding a good airdrop is like looking at a needle in a haystack, I have a friend who's so active in airdrops, who had over 100 airdrops and only 5% of them have values, and sometimes you have to wait for months before it lands on exchanges and there's no value because the whales and the team dump their shares first, airdrop participants are the last one to receive their shares and also the last one to sell it.

Not only on YouTube videos, scammers and hackers know that people like what is free, they also try their luck to use fake airdrops to scam people, some people can be scammed. There are many fake and scam airdrops on many telegram channels because it was there I wanted to be scammed.

Find the project team or the o projects official telegram group and ask them if they are doing any airdrops or giveaways, this is the perfect way to expose or know the truth about any airdrop campaign.
I can not because of airdrop be looking for a good project, but if a good project comes my way and I see it legit, if airdrop is part of their plans, I can join and receive some freely.

Let's be careful what we connect our crypto wallets to.
You means those decentralized exchanges, many are fake and some are fakes of the original sites, it he been an easy way hackers are using to transfer all the coins on the wallet.

You can still be scammed through project's official channels, as the actual project could be a scam in the end.

There is the additional risk of identity theft. Those who apply for airdrops do that at a high frequency, meaning they reveal personal information about themselves on various platforms and that could be sold or hacked and find its way to the dark web, this in turn could be used to make purchases in the person's name and result in huge debt.

Airdrops in my opinion are not worth the stress it takes to apply for them, and when you factor in the risk involved, I would advice to avoid.

Best is to avoid altcoins all together and just stick to bitcoin that you store in open source wallet like Electrum or even better hardware wallet.  That way you dont have to worry about these types of airdrop scams
