I'm sure that altcoins have big potential even comparing with BTC. Altcoins is like shares of startups and every investor is like a shareholder
Not every altcoins can last next 5 years because people will start to decide useless altcoins soon. Lots of altcoins trying or not even try to build some product to help people in real life, and the crowd will decide to use or not. Hope these decision can help crypto currency grow more.

We do not lose hope that not all altcoin will be last long because some are in a good project and some are not.What we are trying to do if I am in your situation is that sell the coin are in profitable and hold the coin if not a profitable.Hold it until you gain profit on that coins. 
It seems to me that this is a very possible outcome of the events because despite the fact that the market is now unstable, we are developing and will soon solve the regulatory problem.
This is not an easy question. and honestly, anyone who tells you it will last for that period of time could be wrong. Actually crypto felt like it is manipulated by many players. I do think that Crypto will last longer, more than 5 years later. Now, we can see the progress of the crypto that is very awesome. Many new ideas are offered in ICO; therefore, the crypto can last longer. That is why I think about the future of the crypto. I also have more altcoins to hold, I also believe that many people also feel the same.
altcoin prices are now down but I keep holding them and not selling them because altcoin is predicted to rise again in the next 2-3 years and I hope it happens sooner

yes, with the next 5 years there is a very good possibility and some are getting worse in value and team, therefore in the selection do not have to rush not to keep the coins that are ultimately free to buy, choose the best altcoin from the best according to your own willingness to follow others often leads to anxiety / uncertainty or just plumbing themselves, everyone is encouraged to be smart in analyzing fraud everywhere, lest you be hers. I strongly believe that storing altcoin as much as possible for the long term in the next few years would be very unusual for you if you want to be patient, do not make the wrong decision to buy altcoin for determining a good future.
Depends on what type of altcoins. Shitcoins could not even survive for a year and I know that some of them still exist but they are considered dead. You need to find the qualities of an ethereum to make sure the altcoins you are holding are going to last for 5 years or even 10 years.

There are already thousands of altcoins includjng tokens in the market but only few of them might survive the competition. Altcoins that are solidly developed like ethereum and neo will continue to grow and will also last for many years like bitcoin. Others coins that fails to grow may face delisting from the exchanges and might go extinct after a few years.
Dont lose your faith on altcoins. I think we can see good prices in the future. Dont think dark things. Lets see.Good luck
We should be positive that this will long last. We all invest for not earn negative but to have a positive results. We will hope that thus will last long for us to earn more.
The next 5 years, there will be many coins that fall and many new coins that will come to the surface but only the strong projects will survive that addressed time frame
Choose your coins wisely, look for tokens with good developers, the ones that are constantly being improved upon and a vibrant community, then you can HODL indefinitely. There are coins that will survive that long and grow in value

It is depending on what altcoin that you are holding right now because many altcoins in the market that are existed for a couple of year and some are 5 year existing in the market. Yes, potential altcoins can survive but there are some alts that will be gone and dead in the next 5 years i.e coins that have nothing to offer to the market. You must check your holdings if you hold the potentials coins in your wallet.

while cryptocurrencies technology still has value then all altcoin will stay and grow. only a good and popular altcoin that can last up to five years. so keep altcoin good and most popular from now on.
I think most of Altcoin will die within five years. The retained will be similar to ETH, NEO, ACT, etc. The market can't accommodate so many things to do pseudo-blockchain projects for profit, and the market will come The more normalized and opportunistic things will be difficult to do, the credibility of the blockchain industry is very important
i would say just think about Altcoin as same as normal projects, some of them will last for years and some will die even be that stipulated time.

depending, if the altcoin has a large volume and a clear concept will last long. plus many of the investors joining the altcoin are making it grow and becoming one of the favorite altcoins.
I think altcoin for the next five years seems to be surviving is ethereum and some altcoin which have projects and platforms that are very useful for the people.
There are SO many altcoins. Probably, there will be more coins emerging in 5 year time but definitely for sure, there will be coins that may not able to survive for that timeline. I think the safest way of put in for an investment in alternative coins is that you should consider coins that belong to the top 30 rank in the crypto market.
