im not an investor of an ico but i like to particpate on ico bounties and airdrops on the past  . to be honest im not a fan of doing a research before i join . i only join them instantly . i would be happy if i recieve some coins but if not , i still accept it  . theres nothing to blame because joining them are free but lets say if im going to invest on ico or on other investment out there that involves real cash/cryptos  , i guess ill have to take the time to do a deep research before deciding if i continue or not  because i dont want to donate my money from a scammer  .

I think it's better to invest on established coins instead investing on icos, you can always check the progress of the project later, and most of the icos now are lazy about developing their coin, they could do so much things in a single quarter instead they just put a single update in the roadmap where as the established coins already done most of the things in their roadmap.

ICOs, or Initial Coin Offerings, have become a popular way for cryptocurrencies to raise funds from the public. However, they have also become an easy way to prey on the vulnerable, and the financial regulator recently warned customers about what it calls “these very high risk, speculative investments”. It warns that there’s little consumer protection and high potential for fraud, as well as high volatility. Some ICOs are regulated by the FCA, but this is on a case-by-case basis, depending on how they are structured.

As the FCA says, you should fully research any ICO before handing over your money. “You should only invest in an ICO project if you are an experienced investor, confident in the quality of the ICO project itself,” a spokesman says. Alternatively, consider investing or trading with a regulated provider.

All right they say. Do not trust anyone in this market. I was convinced once again yesterday. That not all people and experts value their reputation. ICO is business today. sales ratings, fraudulent projects. Are you investing to make a profit? Well, this is a casino. So, put your money on zero with success. I think about as many projects for one good.

Yes obviously, i always do some research before investing my money in ICOs. You know right ICOs nowdays are not good anymore, mostly are scam too. So you need to becareful and don't blindly invest your money to random ICOs. Check it first before join, join their telegram, ask anything to the team.

In fact, most ICO scams are blunt, obvious scams... people only feed these scammers if they are really blind... and they often are...
On the other hand there is no assurance that, even doing your research, and even having done it several times with success, you still won't be scammed...
It is just a wrong principle if someone you don't know is asking you money for something that most times is still only a sketch... no warranties, no attachments... most people probably hear: "just give me the cash and I'll make you rich"
Search for POW with no ICO and no premine... If the project has real value, there will be no need of an ICO

Yes of course, it is a very basic tool to become a successful investor. Do not do anything without any knowledge for you to never failed. Because little knowledge and of course no knowledge at all is very dangerous especially here in crypto world. Knowledge is power.

I guess no need to reiterate here about doing some research for ICOs cause this is mandatory for those who want to invest cause  if they aint do that there's a big chance for them to lose a lot of money. Also, not only after on the legality also check the quality of the project and its use case if the project has something to contribute in the blockchain world cause if not. Then its no worth it. Regarding projects on IEO, those projects are indeed legit but the question here is do they have a good project?

I agree, the first thing that any investor should do is to study in detail the object of investing! Big money attracts many crooks. And in the field of ICO there are a lot of them because the market is not regulated and it is almost impossible to bring accountability to liability! Therefore, we must be vigilant and very careful.IEO is the next stage of development of ICO. There, investments are safer as the exchange assesses the project, risks and puts its reputation on the line

I prefer to buy through the IEO, because it is really real, after the IEO finished the token can be traded immediately, some time ago I bought OATH on lbank and only took 5 seconds to run out

I think the question should be,  is this research done by many investors enough to prevent people from investing into bad or scam ico project? Because i have seen some of the project people place in high esteem later ended up misleading and turning into a cheap scam, so in the scale of 1-10, how often has this research help in making right decision and prevent people from investing in bad project? Is research really enough to give guarantee on investing on ico's?

Of course, I try to study the project well before investing money in it.It's my money and I don't want to give it to crooks. But still it is very difficult to recognize the scammers, they come up with new schemes and no guarantee that my money is safe, no one will give me.

Of course we have to be vigilant in every way bad things must be around us, and scammers always have their ways.

Initial coin offering has really gone the negative way this used to be one major and important sector of cryptocurrency but the rate of scams has declined that.
This year we have fewer project going on ico.
And as an investors if you must invest in a ico do a very calculated survey, study everything you can lay your hands about the project

Before investing in any ICO I often learn about it before making a decision to invest in it. Usually, I will verify the identity of the development team, read whitelist, verify the project's availability. In particular, the FOMO calculation of the project must be verified because this is the most important thing to help the project to be profitable for investors.

Basically I never invest in ICO. But, if I wish to invest then properly evaluate the ICO with details and check their website. ICOs investment will be good if there was a bull market running at the time of investment. Till now I have invested only 2 ICOs from these only one is successful I think but a little bit of loss. Another one that is Bunny Token has given me heavy loos of all money.

This is so important and matters at all, to do further research about where to invest ico is a must. Because if you dont do research, the tendency is that you might enter into a fraud and scam ico's. And there are a lot of scam ico's now, so we must be smart in joining.

Thus, two groups of investors are formed. Experienced investors and novice investors.
The first will carefully select the assets to invest.
The second, hearing how much they can do Xs, will buy everything. And no risk warnings will stop them.

Don't invest like an idiot who is investing in the hype, gone are the days that a simple hype can make an ICO millions of dollars, hype had become a playground of scammers, check ten times who are creating the hype and check 100 times if the project is really legit, but if you are a newbie don't invest on ICO it's to risk, not a right time to have a bad experience.

It's true that most of the ICOs existing today are full of frauds and scams that's why it is important for the investors to do a full research about the project itself and the team... the investor should also consider the future development and possible users of the project.

There are new investors didn't know the risk they're doing before they invest to a certain ICOs they didn't know that most of the ICO projects failed at some point and some of them are dumps the price of their coins so investing to an ICO is not just for short term but a hold term investment.

If you're looking for a short time investment then you should go for a cryptocurrency trading.
