Most likely after the bitcoin will die and the rest of the coins. Or, if some of the altcoins will significantly exceed bitcoin and technology, and cost, the market will be able to function without it. But the probability of this event is very small.

Bitcoin can disappear only because of some very serious event that will affect not just one specific coin (bitcoin), but the entire cryptocurrency as a whole. Therefore, I think that without bitcoin there is no crypto-currency market.

If it happens that bitcoin will lose its relevance or disappear due to a global technology error, then the rest of the crypto-currencies will die with it. I can not imagine the functioning of the cryptocurrency market without bitcoin, as it is the source of all coins.

Cryptomania? Haha! Anyways, I do not believe that Bitcoin, though dominating the market in terms of marketcap, totally dictates the fate of the entire crypto space. Even if Bitcoin does come to an end, I strongly believe that cryptocurrency will still survive.

Of course, the death of bitcoin will be the death of cryptocurrency, which in turn will lose public trust in crypto currency, and certainly has a negative impact on cryptomania. For that I am sure that bitcoin will never die, because the crypto market is very clearly seen to be dominated or influenced by bitcoin, besides that the price of crupto is highly dependent on the movement of the price of bitcoin.

Bitcoin will not die. It means that the cryptocurrencies will stay alive as well. Unfortunately, many investors that have already bought shitcoins will lose their money - and this is the truth.

nope, it's just the beginning. Bitcoin can not be killed but can be replaced with something better. but if you even think of death of Bitcoin, crypto will be the new economy for the future world.

Yes, BTC is the king of cryptocurrency. If BTC does not exist, other cryptocurrencies have no more people and funds to support!
BTC is a belief that BTC will have a new future!

If Bitcoin were to completely bottom out, what would happen to the altcoins?

Follow the crypto superstar to a fiery death?  or  Skyrocket passed their predecessor?

I don't think Bitcoin would ever die completely. It's just set up to not be able to perish completely, no matter how much stress or opposition to it's existence it'll get. The value may go down significantly; yet that isn't the measuring stick by which it's existence can be judged. Alt coins may rise to relevance or fall each by their merits. One of them may eventually get a large share of the market or even surpass Bitcoin down the road. The ones that come later may barely resemble neither bitcoin nor even any of our known currencies. They may be crypto only by measure of being decentralized. Yet even so most altcoins will in some way benefit to keep bitcoin relevant too as it's the first and most well known. Will Bitcoin ever be a full currency? No one knows; but it will always be the first and with continued innovation it'll grow even more.

It depends how it dies.I always speculated some other coin will take over eventually. If it is a slow process like over a few years I can't see any harm.If it a sudden crash shock to the system it could take 10 years for the system to recover.Cryptos will be around as long as the internet is around

for now its pretty much all altcoin pegged to bitcoin. if bitcoin dies, the rest will die too. different story if future when crypto is better developed. but those are unlikely to happen.

I think most of us would quit since most of us are only here because of Bitcoin.
And some of us thinks that if Bitcoin drops down that means the crypto is doomed.

In the very first place bitcoin is not dead. Bitcoin still exist and there are so many investors are waiting for it to rise again.

Assume that bitcoin is dead. What are the reasons for the death of altcoins? The only thing that can happen if bitcoin dies, the price of altcoins will be much more than the previous prices.

If bitcoin dies, then I think everyone else will leave. There will be only a few projects that provide some kind of product.

If bitcoin will be dead then cryptos might be dead too because every crypto move depends on bitcoin price as you always on the market and all cryptocurrencies are being traded with bitcoin and it is the major need of cryptos.
Not sure, why don't you think that if bitcoin die, altcoin will dominate crypto world. It will coninue running without bitcoin. that's my opinion.

It may be correct as we can see how bitcoin has influenced other cryptos in the cryptoworld. With regards to cryptos market price, its progress depends on how bitcoin's market price status too. So i think it is just logical to think that without bitcoin, cryptoworld will not survive too.

I don't think Bitcoin will die just yet unless it were superseded by another ground breaking technology to replace the blockchain. I think only after mass adoption of Blockchain technology which may take another ten years to implement, will we see another craze hit the streets and people talking about it and cashing in on that. I do not think the Bitcoin craze is over just yet. All these early birds need to sell to somebody, so only once it is institutionalized and then mass adopted, will we see a new technology appear to get new consumers in the market to buy.

As the king of cryptocurrency and the benchmark of all other cryptocurrencies, it gives an extraordinary potential and worthy image that makes it very influential. Its death can have a huge unfavorable impact and cryptomania will totally be affected. However, I don't think Bitcoin is going to die that easy. It has been in the market for a decade and it will certainly continue its excellency. It will even soar higher and its demand will keep on increasing.
