Germany sends more than 100 trucks to Ukraine

German Minister for Development Müller will assist Kyiv with an aid convoy valued at ten million euros (more than twelve million US Dollars), destined primarily for the war-ravaged territories of eastern Ukraine.

Given the approaching onset of winter in Ukraine, the federal government has formed an aid convoy of more than 100 trucks, destined primarily for the east of the country.

The Development Ministry announced on Saturday that the convoy is expected to arrive by mid-October in the troubled region.

Included in the shipment are mobile housing units and kitchens, heaters, generators, water and diesel tanks, winter clothing, blankets and cots.

The inventory was “closely coordinated with the Ukrainian government” and essentially intended for Eastern Ukrainian cities such as Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Sloviansk.

“Millions of refugees in the country”

“We want to send a message of solidarity,” said German Development Minister Gerd Müller (CSU). It is estimated that one million people in Ukraine had fled because of the violent clashes. Müller wants to hand over a part of the shipment in person on October 14 in Kharkov.

According to insiders, the Federal Government is considering a Bundeswehr mission to monitor the mediated ceasefire by the OSCE between rebels and the army in eastern Ukraine. If political decisions are made for an OSCE mission with the participation of German soldiers, the Bundeswehr would be willing to participate with personnel and equipment, it was reported in government circles on Saturday.

However, the possible number of troops is undecided. There is still no clear-cut concept of operations, since this depends both on the particular security situation in Ukraine as well as the conditions of the OSCE.

German-French talks

The Foreign Office announced that the federal government is currently engaged in talks with the French Government regarding support for the OSCE as it assumes its duties in Ukraine. “These are currently only exploratory discussions,” said a spokesman of the Foreign Office.

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has discussed the topic on Friday in Paris with the French government. “Nothing is decided yet. Prior to any possible decisions, difficult legal and policy issues need to be clarified,” the spokesman said.

The sanctions work. Head of the Russian Sberbank rebels against Putin

by Andrey Kolesnikov

At the Russia Calling Forum, the head of Sberbank violated the strange etiquette pertaining to the current (Russian) elite, which is liquidating the consciences of Putin’s economic policy, but shies away from speaking about the reasons for such policies.

The chairman of VTB Andrey Kostin looked like a bronze monument to himself and methodically played with his pen, Central Bank chairman Elvira Nabiullina smiled shyly, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov turned to stone. The soundtrack to this scene at the forum with the ironic name Russia Calling was provided by Sberbank chairman German Gref, who spoke the truth from the Crowne Plaza booth. For ten entire minutes.

He essentially said everything the esteemed leaders in economics knew without him, but were afraid of saying out loud. In some sense he violated the certain strange etiquette for the current elite, which is fighting with all its might to liquidate the consequences of the economic policies on part of the Russian President and his state-capital inner circle, but does not have the confidence to speak about the reasons for such policies, their contents, nor their consequences.

Gref unveiled the root problem of the regime: money. Money at all costs. To the extent of introducing new taxes on small businesses, which, as the former Minister for Economic Development noted, is near death.

And as soon as business started lifting up its head, they decided to take from it.

Just to buy security and mass loyalty for themselves, the government: to give money to the man with the gun and the ‘swamp.’ Not the one protesting in squares but the one that works on inertia, if it does at all, which the government does not allow to fall below the poverty line with their payments – otherwise the government will lose the skeleton of its electorate: the almost declassified individual which some researchers humorously call ‘the below the middle class.’ And also to give money to those who suffered from the sanctions and can only get surplus revenues instead of hyper-surplus revenues as usual from their position within the court. Like Alkhen, they have their own ‘orphans,’ the citizens of the Crimean peninsula. The rest of the Russian population are also ‘orphans,’ but second-rate ones, compared to the Crimeans. It looks like the Chinese should care for those living in Siberia and in the Far East.

Speaking of which, Gref also made an example of the Chinese. He praised their inclination towards innovation, their market openness. In this sense, our government thinks in vain that the dividing line lies between China and Russia on one side and the U.S. on the other. In the economic sense everything is totally different: China and the U.S. on one side and Russia on the other.

When criticizing Russia’s isolation, especially in regard to import and loans, the head of the bank which had been subject to sanctions, did not tear into the West, which void its bank of capital, but his government. Thus noting that source of all evil without naming it directly.

And said heartily: “You can’t violate the laws. The laws of economics.”

In this light Gref mentioned Yegor Gaydar and his work The Death of an Empire, a detailed analysis of how the Soviet Union degraded and died economically. And, essentially, directly compared the current situation with the one in the late Soviet era… Kostin still played with his pen nervously, Nabilullina smiled, Siluaniov didn’t…

Speaking of which, Gaydar also wrote about laws of economics. In another work, which is very educational, Economic and Hierarchical Structures. It was written when the discussion of the design of reform slowly transformed into the search for the methods to execute life-support measures: in 1987-1989. The following words addressed to the government can be found within: “While it was impossible to put an end to economic autarchy immediately for objective reasons…, it is necessary to act in accordance with the laws of the market and not in spite of them.”

“I don’t want to stand in line at the old Soviet Sberbank,” said Gref. A figure of speech. Another smile is allowed. But it is also the conclusion that the current economic policy is turned to face the past instead of the future.

The person whose name is used for the unexecuted ambitious plan for second-wave reform, Gref’s program of 2000, also mentioned another thing: the fact that the system of government had reached the limit of its efficiency. There is no result whatever they do. The problems cannot be solved even if they are flooded with money. However, what is being solved are private issues of redistribution coalitions that are sucking from the state currents.

Gref’s words were permeated by tiredness and resentment.

He did not directly say the King was naked. But he hinted at this circumstance.

The rest pretended it was a comedic performance, not a satirical one, with borderline jokes about Vasiliy Illych. And Vladimir Putin spoke after Gref, for whom the same governmental suicidal logic once more became grounds for optimism, to ‘concentrate resources.’ The resources that don’t exist. And mobilization searches for which lead directly to the very same line to the Soviet Sberbank.

It is good to mention a quote from the Death of the Empire Gref noted. The book ends with the following words: “Russia has a market economy, which is incomparably more flexible than the socialist one. It is able to easier adapt to the changes in the global economic conjuncture. Its logic does assume that all the responsibility for changes in economic life lies on the existing government. But this does not mean that the risks tied to the loss of the ability to adapt, the growth of the country’s dependence on the parameters which are not under government control, have disappeared. This is the situation in which caution, a sober attitude towards the threats the country may face is an integral part of responsible policies.”

And Gref? What about Gref? He was too emotional. His nerves gave out – his business is subject to sanctions.

He made a funny speech. It’s okay. The audience laughed… It looks like there will be no conclusions.

Separatists using Russian T-72s supplied by Moscow via rail in the battle for Donetsk airport Ukraine H2200

LOL, a comedy of stupidity or plain desperation?

When the UKies were defeated in Donbass, through a hilarious barrage of disinformation (propaganda is their last weapon), they thought it was wise to accuse the Russians of helping the rebels defeat the CIA-directed, NATO-supported UKie genocide forces. All throughout this forum, you can read their propaganda "proving" the presence of Russin soldiers. That was supposed to lighten their humiliation.

That just confirms how their minds work. Poorly and desperately. What they did was actually proclaiming inadvertently to the world the Russians again defeated a CIA-directed, NATO-supported (there were POlish & Baltic mercenarries there, too).

Remember their first defeat last October 13, 2013, Russia already defeated the US in Syria when Russian missiles stopped two American missiles fired from Spain towsrds Damascus. The War That Was Won Even Before It Began.

Since 2013, Russia defeated the US/NATO in two encounters: Syria & Donbass.

That is a joke right? If there is anything that the Ukrainian government has proven, it's that they don't care about how many civilians they kill.

Meanwhile, a socialist party won the parliamentary elections in Latvia... It seems that is the reason for Pagan's butthurt and significant jump of his activity... Waiting for elections in Lithuania and Estonia. Cheesy

lol, Pyrrhic victory

Although the pro-Russian Harmony Centre came in first in the elections, its performance cannot be called victory,
It won the largest number of votes, as compared with others, but it definitely did not win. As compared with the elections a few years ago, the Harmony Centre, which mainly represents the Russian-speaking community and claims to be a social democratic and centre-left force, it rallied 5 percent less support this time.

A good Op-Edge by the British journalist Bryan MacDonald:

A journalist’s duty is to inform. Have western press forgotten this in Ukraine?
http://rt.com/op-edge/192544-media-coverage-ukraine-bias/

Quote
Whenever the public right to know comes under attack, a heavy responsibility falls on the journalist. When I was 17, my teacher told the class this salient information. Did the Western mainstream media learn it too or have they simply forgotten it?

“News is what someone wants to stop (you) from printing; all the rest is ads.”- William Randolph Hearst.

...

In recent days, Russian TV channels been “reporting (in Ukraine) mass graves, numerous cases of civilians pulled out of their cars and summarily shot, mass graves of people shot with their hands tied in their back and tortures, tortures and more tortures: systematic beatings, branding with swastikas, knife wounds, broken bones, heard trauma (and) damaged kidneys”, according to Russia Insider. Some of these reports may be exaggerated but, on the assumption of no smoke without fire, there must be some truth. Western media haven’t bothered to assess the issues.
BBC did run a report which, loosely, touched on the story but instead focused on an error by Russia’s independent REN TV. They, correctly, pointed out that REN had used a photo of MH17 body bags to illustrate a report about the alleged East Ukrainian atrocities. BBC then went to state: “The second image used by REN TV appears intended to support the reports of ‘mass graves.’ The reality is rather different.”

“An OSCE report on 24 September about the graves mentioned by the Russian media said that two of them contained two bodies apiece. It said that at another site there was a mound resembling a grave marked by a plaque bearing the names or initials of five individuals and suggesting they had been killed on 27 August. There was another inscription saying they had died for ‘Putin's lies’, the OSCE noted,” the writer, Stephen Ennis, continued.

So by BBC logic, a potential five-person grave is not a “mass grave?” Certainly, the British usually murdered far more than five people on their killing sprees, indeed there’s a mass grave in my hometown in Ireland containing more than 600 victims of British barbarity. Nevertheless, five does count as a “mass grave” in the civilized world, even if the Brits once aimed for higher numbers. The BBC then goes on to complete the article by referring to Alina Kabayeva, whom it describes as “the former gymnast and MP who has been romantically linked to Putin.” This is the kind of stuff one would expect to read in Hello! magazine, not a serious news organization as the BBC purports to be. That said a number of recent Western media features, including an infamous Newsweek front-page piece have been straight out of Hello!’s stylebook.

European countries chose 'destruction tactics for Ukraine' from outset - Duma speaker
http://rt.com/politics/192924-osce-europe-security-ukraine-naryshkin/

Quote
At the Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), Russian official Sergey Naryshkin made the Ukrainian crisis a top European security issue, while speaking at a conference on new security challenges in the region.

At a meeting on "New Security Challenges: The Role of Parliaments" on Friday, Naryshkin, the Head of the Lower House of Russian Parliament, who leads the Moscow delegation, delivered a speech in the debate on such topics as the threat of extremism, and the protection of human rights.

Naryshkin said he was under an impression that some European countries had chosen "tactics of destruction for Ukraine" from the very beginning of the conflict. He also pointed out that Kiev authorities make it clear that certain recent agreements, including the peace plan reached in Minsk on September 5, "are non-essential and can be easily disrupted."

I think Russia is too patient with Latvia. There are about 300,000 ethnic Russians in Latvia who are “non-citizens” of the country, holding special passports that bar them from voting. In order to become citizens, they have to take an exam on Latvian culture and history... Wow, this is insane, to think, ethnic Russians have been living in Latvia for centuries. The Hispanics were never forbidden to vote in the US just because they can't speak English. Protection of the Latvian language is not an excuse to oppress people. Let all the languages bloom & let the people choose, isn't that what democracy is about?

Taken from UK's Independent:

They (the ethnic Russian non-citizens in Latvia) include approximately 300,000 people living in Latvia who are still listed as “non-citizens”, deprived of the right to carry a Latvian passport or vote. Most of them are ethnic Russians whose ancestors were some of the 800,000 people shipped in from the Soviet Union during the occupation.  After independence, only descendants of people living in Latvia before 1940 gained automatic citizenship. The naturalisation process has since been opened to everyone who takes a test, but Ms Krivcova says the Latvian language exam remains too difficult for older people.

Many others refuse to take the exam on principle, arguing that they are being held responsible for crimes of the Soviet army. Activists say the government also suppresses the language, banning the distribution of state literature in Russian.

I think that is blatant discrimination & hypocrisy which is tantamount to a summary oppression of people. If the EU has been allowing this, that only means the EU is Hypocrisy central headquarters. For a country doing that, it ceased being considered a country that is taken seriously.

I can pretty much understand only a special intervension can remedy the situation. It has been two decades of this oppression right under the nose of the world. I can understand if Russia brings some justice to this. THis is the type of injustice that the world would readily understand. Now that the bankrupt WEst has pretty much displayed what it can do in situations such as this,it's time to take them on frontally on their hypocritical democracy pretensions.

In keeping with the spirit of the emerging world ...  Wink

Meanwhile, a socialist party won the parliamentary elections in Latvia... It seems that is the reason for Pagan's butthurt and significant jump of his activity... Waiting for elections in Lithuania and Estonia. Cheesy

As far as I follow the news from the Baltics, this party represents the 25% of the Russian-speaking population and those Latvians who would rather not go the way of cheap nationalism, but would like to see Latvia restored to its former prosperity.

I think it is as good time as any to point to a little time-capsule from the Soviet period. It is a detective film "Check to the Queen of Diamonds", filmed at Riga Film Studio (which produced a lot of films, where is it now?) in Latvian (so much for oppression of Latvians). It was then dubbed to Russian.
http://qucha.ru/13650-shax-koroleve-brilliantov.html
Apart from a great plot, this film is a revealing time capsule of life in Latvia and, to some part, Estonia of that time (1973). Here are some of the things that are worth mentioning: a private doctor practice, a yacht marina, people's clothing, the way one character say that if you want to sell your car, you should do it in Estonia as prices are higher there.
This rhymes well what my mother told me of trips to Riga from Moscow (the allegedly best-supplied place in USSR!), when it felt like you travelled abroad, as well as with my own impressions when I first visited Riga and Vilnius in the 80s.

Things have entered a boring but at times, really hilarious phase (with a somewhat hint of disgust though)... BTW, just to spice up the day, I will start calling UKraine as Littlerussia or Malorussia, its original historical name. That's better than "Funnyrussia" because that's the way it has become. But I will still call the people Ukies. I will call Russia "Great Russia", its imperial name. Belarus is Whiterussia. The 3 Russia: Great, White & Little.

Actually, I think, the status quo now is just perfect for Putin, he already has made his point, he can bide his time. He hasn't actually given any sign of what is really in his mind, only that the WEst has no business messing with it. The bankrupt WEst have just about played out all their cards (that includes the hyped "fearsome" QE carnage  which like their powerful military hype is just that- HYPE in capital letters), their war bluff is becoming more hilarious by the day as they realize they have pussified their societies irretrievably.

Ukies are jokers, even with the help of the CIA director and the other WEstern mercenaries, they could be licked by farmers & miners (the propaganda of the ukies that Great Russians helped the Donbass superheroes actually makes the story more hilarious- they are accepting and shouting to the world that the Great Russians defeated the CIA-directed, NATO-reinforced Ukie genocidal clowns pretending to be fighters!).

Anyway, Novorussia will come sooner than we think. The Ukie nationalists are itching to overthrow Porky (and with the crazy Timoshenko becoming more insane that she got out of prison for nothing will surely help them just to regain power).

 I can see the outcome.

So are the Chinese. 92% of them approve of what Putin's doing.

Here's the biggest joke: the Post-Soviet small states thought the world would sympathize with them if they became slaves to the bankrupt US, and that the world will therefore hate the Great Russians just because of their cheap antics. LOL, what a cheap bunch of provincial clowns!   What, the world would risk a nuclear war for them so they can continue deluding themselves they became powerful just by being slaves of bankrupt masters? Little did they know the world hated them for their delusions because they became aggravations which could plunge the world into nuclear war.I actually am encouraging

Russia to get them again so they remain where they belong and they stop pestering the world with their cheap noises. Not worth being disturbed by pretentious slaves.

I quote from the article below, the Chinese are really genius:

Russia's pushback against Western-leaning governments in Georgia in 2008 and more recently Ukraine  has been popular in China.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-03/why-chinese-admire-putin-great

I wrote this because I suddenly realized one thing: one of the propaganda in the last weeks geared towards the supposed undermining of Great Russia-China bond so you heared the former Ukie President Kuchma saying China will help develop Littlerussia (or Ukraine to the ignorant). More like his delusion, but a sign that that funny country already realized the US & EU are bankrupt to help it economically), then the little midgets in the Baltics were full of stories China will replace lost trade with the Great Russian food ban because they are getting closer in their relationships, etc. You can feel they really think they have become so popular that they have been favored by China over Great Russia. Actually, even the trolls have been following this line. What a bunch of cheap clowns!  Cheesy

This fiasco in LIttlerussia is becoming a small-town, backwater comedy... and in a vague way, I can feel somewhat dirty having stooped down reading about these little people...  Yuck!

She has pure Moscow accent and even unable to read Ukrainian, what the hell she's doing in Dniepropetrovsk?

"We see the same in Russia" - who and where sees the same?
"Putin have to withdraw troops from sovereign state" - troops? O_o
"We'll continue to get victims if Putin's imperial ambitions will be tolerated" - is this some kind of schizophrenia?

Another example of white ribbon faggotry. I hope she'll try to visit DPRK without visa.
