The info given from Antilly is very detailed, and far more than I expected to see from them. It does two things for me personally:
1) Makes it a lot easier to gauge what they are looking for and what DVC needs to help come back on the map/dominate
2) Builds trust in them since they are clearly doing their research
Now, one part that I found a little backwards is the shop info. One of their negatives is that there aren't many/any stores accepting DVC right now, but part of that reason could just as easily be that it's not as liquid right now and shops of most types have their own expenses (i.e., if I'm selling phones at a 5% markup, I still need to get that 95% from somewhere to pay for the phone and restock. If I can't sell any of the coins on an exchange, I can't viably run a business).
Yes Ranlo that was my take from the feedback from altilly, great to see what dvc needs to do and good sign altilly is good exchange and doing due research into each coin.
Regarding the stores accepting DVC, I think this is specifically related to the first post on this thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dvcdevcoin-official-thread-moderated-233997 with the places listed accepting dvc as payment.. they are all out of date and dead thus that looks bad so this should be cleaned up if possible or lets start new official thread?
Also there has been no work to get dvc integrated into a multi crypto payment gateway provider. Don't forget they are reviewing all cryptocurrencies like this and payment gateways are a huge step in opening up the coin to non crypto businesses etc. For example
https://b2binpay.com/en/cryptocurrencies/coins/Agreed though one reason could be there are no stores accepting dvc because there is no exchange to buy and sell dvc. But they are taking a risk with each coin listing that it could be a scam or worse and damage the exchange itself. I have seen it in the past where a coins foundation offer an online shop with token items (coffee mugs, hats, stickers etc all with the crypto logo on it and purchase can be done in btc and the crypto thus offering a place to spend. Is there anything stopping dvc setting up and offering such a shop? It was done in the past as an incentive to mine the coins and give you something physical for the electricity bill and speculation for the miner but has more value now as a sign of the community and support behind the coin in the eyes of exchanges and the public.
A long time ago I looked into getting logos printed on tshirts, hat, mugs, stickers, keychains etc and would not take much cash investment to produce the actual products and stockpile goods for store once you have designs all sorted and ready. (Note this was done in the PPC community and they spent far too long and much money redesigning the logo and rebranding and would not recommend) just take the current dvc logo and drop on a sticker and get 100 printed up in various sizes etc. This also opens the question of does anyone have the dvc official logo in a high res image and various formats (white background, transparent background, one with text devcoin, one with just logo) and these should be in one place available on devtome or devcoin.org for marketing use and such. Would anyone here want to buy something with their dvc? if so what?
