Easy to quit for a while, easy to stop betting frequently or limit hours spent on gambling.

Very hard to stop completely.

Most gamblers find it easy to limit their activity and go from daily gambling to doing it on weekends. Staying away from betting for a month or two is usually hard. I'd probably be able to limit myself to doing it once a month, but I'll probably never stop because it's a social activity for me. I'd have to change all my friends and stop going out Cheesy

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

This depends mainly on the level of previous addiction. For someone who is heavily hooked, it would not be uncommon for them to end up gambling all their winnings and more. For a person like me, who uses gambling rationally, in a controlled way and with money to spare, if I win a good jackpot I'd better go on a trip and not bet again for a while, as I know the odds are against me.

With good control and limitations, you can achieve not to play for a while to enjoy the amount of your winnings, though it's already
depends on how much you earn.

If you win huge or something like winning the jackpot that can be life changing opportunity, with such controls, you will be able to stop and
find other alternative to kill your time or keep yourself busy with investing your money whatever form you choose to bring those earnings.

Yes, I can quit gambling easy if I achieve life change money from it, I will use the money to set up a good business that will be bringing income to my account and also keep me busy from morning till night so that I will not be thinking of gambling for the rest of my life.  I know it will be hard for some people to quit gambling even though they win life change money from it, their mind will still be there because that is where he or she got the money from and such person has addicted to it and it will take a long years before such person can quit gambling.

Winning the lottery is the dream of many people so that's what makes them continue to gamble and have that dream. But for people who know that gambling cannot always win, they will control their gambling.

And lucky people can celebrate with a holiday somewhere and not gamble because they have already hit the jackpot. But those who fail and are unlucky may try until they get lucky.

And if you fail, it's better not to try it too often because it also doesn't guarantee you can win some money. And we must remember that our goal in gambling is only to have fun. And never borrow money for gambling because the risk of losing is big.
But for the majority of people who I know and who are playing the lottery, most of them are very cautious and modest about it. It is very controlled when they spend their 15 or 20 bucks on lottery tickets per week (or some of them only per month) and then they let it run and they are either lucky or not. They don't increase the number of tickets when they lose, they usually stick to their numbers and just let it run. I think that is a controlled way to go about gambling, to participate in a lottery with this feeling that they could be lucky and not missing out, but at the same time no fortunes are spent on gambling.
Not everyone have that much control over themselves, and that is the reason why most gamblers lose a lot money. And I believe lottery is not a category of gambling that can make you addicted, it is something that someone might try every now and then and even if you participate in every lottery that is conducted once per week, you will still only buy a limited amount of tickets because you know that the chances of winning will still be low if you spend too much.

But it's right that someone that has a control over their minds can do this and those who can't control their minds will simply spend everything they have on lottery or even in gambling only with the hope that they might get something extra on top of it which barely happens since it is all about luck.

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I remember the famous life story of garbage disposal worker who won millions and he spent all the money in few years then he came back to the same work but it doesn't mean everyone have to be like that.

If I made a life changing money from gambling then I will invest the 90% and spend the remaining 10% in gambling or whatever things I like to enjoy which seems more responsible so it depends on everyone. And if I have to quit it completely then I can or just be used to how I am like managing the wagering amount to my limit not until I exhaust it.

People have made bets, won big, and have quit on gambling. It all boils down on whether you know what you're signing up for and you're cunning enough to not fall for death traps laid by the game. Most people who are none the wiser in the industry falls victim on the gambling cycle, where they win big, bet big, lose big, and then repeat the cycle over and over again. At which point they're at a massive loss with a deteriorated life and a financial situation more screwed than you'd ever think.

Some people on the other hand, armed with financial literacy and rid of their heuristics and biases end up gaining massive wins and keeping them for a very long time, sometimes even passing them off to relatives when they die like some legendary gamblers that we know of. It's definitely possible and it's something that I personally advocate for, but if you're gambling for entertainment and winnings aren't really your concern since you know yourself and your limits then by all means!

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?
Do you mean people make money regularly at gambling or do you mean casino owners? I've seen people completely quit gambling the last time they had a big win in the lottery and have so far never touched gambling again.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
The nature of gambling can never end even though we make a lot of money in the past luck and if gambling to make profit regularly then it is totally wrong and no one can afford to keep the gambling money if they don't stop. It's back to the person themselves and if they are not an addicted gambler anyone can stop when they have the intention to stop.

Gambling will take everything if people fall into the category of addiction, because they always hallucinate to get big wins when they get into gambling and without realizing it one day they will lose everything they have.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I have never gambled with big bets, so until now I have never made much money from gambling. But from the several wins that I got, because of greed and thinking to multiply my wins by increasing the bet, in the end I had to lose all the money I had won. Currently I only gamble for fun and consciously never get involved in an irresponsible out of control, gamble only when I want to spend my free time with friends and co-workers.

To be honest, it's not easy for me to quit gambling. But I gamble only for fun. So I gamble for some adrenaline and some dopamine. I am sure that one day I will definitely not lose control if I win a lot of money while gambling. Because I know why I gamble. If a person manages to control himself, it is okay for him to go back to gambling, even if he wins or loses money from gambling. I don't think it's about luck. I think it's a matter of willpower. We cannot control our luck. But we can control our willpower.

Besides willpower, I think it can also be very situational whether we need also deal with the willpower or other people who may want us to completely quit such a hobby. I am talking about girlfriends and wives, marriage.

You can have all the willpower you want, to control your budget and do not lose money you and your family actually needs, but what happens when you share your life with someone who insists you are not supposed to wager a single penny from now on? In that scenario then, I think it is irrelevant how a responsible gambler one can be.

It can also happen because religious reasons and even ethics among those in your workplace. There are situations we certainly cannot control, even being able to control ourselves.

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

Personal for me, I think this question should be directed to either gambling addicts or most gamblers that are earning a living out of gambling. Some months ago, I think it was talked about here about the different types of gamblers that exist, which are people that gamble for fun and also those that gamble in particular for the money they win. So, this question should mostly concern those that gamble for the money, because for me, if I am doing something with good enthusiasm and I am having fun doing it, I don't think I can get convinced to stop it.

I know I have not really made a very heavy win from gambling like I have seen few gamblers win a life changing money, but even if I become so lucky any day and win a huge amount of money from gambling, it cannot make me shun gambling. There is only one thing that has kept me off gambling, which is chance. Apart from that, I gamble with my friends when I am free, and we always enjoy that moment and cannot stop having it even after winning big.
It is simplistic to assume that a large gain would deter a person from continuing to gamble. It fails to take into account that monetary gain is only one of many reasons that people gamble.

Of course, some people gamble for the financial gain, and a significant win can change their lives. However, the thrill of battle and the company of one's peers are powerful motivators as well.

Arguments against gambling based on a lack of 'luck' alone and in favour of gambling with friends because the fun wouldn't end if one of them won highlight the several ways in which gambling may be rewarding. This demonstrates that there is more going on in the gaming world than meets the eye financially.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

Same here, have seen people who win big amounts in gambling that i thought would be life-changing and yet see them gamble again and lose all that money, and go back to zero. I think that's the instinct of a gambler or let me say "once a gambler, always a gambler" and the only thing that  will keep us from gambling is the state of our over-all physical health.
It happens because they don't execute properly money management. They just spend the money impulsively without any long term goals and sustainability in mind. When they don't gamble the whole prize, they make sure to spend it with surplefluous items such as branded clothes, expensive trips, parties, vehicles or give it away to people who get close to them pretending to be friends.

Personally, i have a target amount in my mind that once i accumulate it, i would seriously consider to stop gambling or stay with gambling but fun only, i know this is easier said than done but once i have that money, truly i would keep that promise  Cool.
There isn't any issues if you continue gambling after you win a jackpot. You just have to continue setting a fixed budget for your gambling sessions, without spending further. The rule of always play with money you can afford to lose is valid for every individuals, doesn't matter how wealthy they are.

I don't think so. Because not everyone comes to gambling only for earning money. Many gamblers who lose money but do not get discouraged and return to gambling. They consider it as entertainment. It's not that they get too excited if they win money at that point. They try to enjoy real pleasure from gambling. People who love gambling can never stay away from gambling even if they win big. But if there is someone who chooses gambling only for income and gets a big jackpot then the matter is completely different.
but if we count as a whole some gamblers think gambling is a place to double money, as a source of income or daily income so they really depend on winning and always trying to win and behavior like this it will be difficult to gamble because they are constantly chasing losses for profit but the casino always wins .
In contrast to gamblers who consider gambling only for entertainment, they prefer to gamble with money they can afford to lose, and of course with small amounts without expecting anything big. so that gamblers are very easy to stop gambling whenever they want because they have better control.

but unfortunately there are more gamblers who consider gambling as income compared to gamblers who consider gambling as a place of entertainment.

When you begin to find out some bugs and abnormalities with your personal gambling life, then try to give it a new dimension way of approach to make it more suitable that you are not found below average enjoying the benefit of gambling, I don't think on a normal circumstances any gambler may wish to quit gambling except he's that depressed and frustrated from enjoying gambling either through his own acts or what other people sent to pressurized him with gambling.

People who have generated huge amounts of profit and had their lives changed because of gambling are the ones who are having a hard time quitting and leaving gambling simply because they have the desire and hope of winning the same amount again. They believe that they could gain profit and win again by applying what they did before which I think is a wrong mindset. That is also the reason why people who became rich because of gambling usually turn back to the rug after losing everything in gambling.
Those who gamble occasionally and see it as a source of entertainment could quit easily since it isn't part of their important routine so they can quit easily and totally avoid it. They can set a proper mindset to leave gambling with willingness.

Why do they return to gambling after making life-changing money because it's not easy to forget and give up activities that can bring us a lot of money even though we are aware of the risk of losing it all again but the feeling of continuing to make money and also the curiosity to be able to win more is always there in the minds of gamblers, so stopping gambling is not easy not only when you have earned big money even when you lose a large amount it will be difficult to stop because the feeling of taking what you have lost is always there, even though gambling doesn't work like that, there is no revenge grudges in gambling and if you do so it is impossible for players to succeed because gambling because they want to take what they have lost is often done not with a clear mind so that they will make many mistakes in applying strategy.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I have made a lot of money but not in a life-changing amount, I can stop but only temporarily and if it continues to be related to gambling it is very difficult to really stop.
