WALLET LINKS ARE ON THE FIRST PAGE. PLEASE UPDATE

@Griffith -
First, EXTREMELY appreciative of all the work you've gone on this!!!!!!!!!!!   So great to see you working on this and the exchanges.

Any idea on the windows wallet?  We missed 1.8.3 and 1.8.4 is delayed now....I'm happy to help financially and labor-wise as long as we can avoid missed commitments.

I'm heavily committed financially and I have plenty of skill in that arena as an exec in corporate finance.  Feel free to reach out if I can help in any way.

My wish list would be:

1.  Identify a way to elminate the 'holdups' along the sync chain...whether it is "fixing" the block along the way or prescribing a blockchain download to today's block
2.  Shortening the splash screen upon wallet launch.  How is it possible that ECCoin splash screen is 5x-10x longer than bitcoin core or litecoin?

Please understand that I know these are not your problems, they are community problems.....and I want to help.  I just think the best way to help is to look at best-of-breed and to identify what we can change to get there Smiley

Re: Mintpal --- have we reached out to hostmaster to get him to tell Mintpal your are the new admin and they should talk with you?  If not, I can reach out to him.  Mintpal is key to our success, like it or not.

1. the hold ups on the chain are caused by people with coins not leaving there wallets open. PoS works that instead of mining, the idea is that people will leave there wallets open and a small script runs in the wallets and thats how blocks are generated (the script causes staking) and you are rewarded a % for doing this. aka staking. if people close the wallets, it will try to stake a coin. find that it is in a wallet that is offline, the coin wont be staked and it will have to find a new coin and the block time is delayed. the 1.8.4 wallet i can almost guarentee has all chain fixes that will help the chain speed as much as possible assuming people are keeping there wallets open to even help generate blocks

2. yeah, i noticed it is long too. i know the lenth of time it takes depends on cpu speed. but ECC is pretty long. idk what is causing that and it isnt really that high on my priority list to fix right now mostly because it is never longer than 30 seconds and is just a slight inconvenience rather than a problem. i do know the longer the chain the longer the wait time is (noticed this with older coins like FTC compared to newer coins like DOGE)

3. i am not quire sure what you are saying with that mintpal message. did they send you that message? or are you telling me? or? clarify that please for me.

Just pulled source from git and compiled on ubuntu and the qt wallet says its version 1.8.3?

i have uploaded the QT's to the github as well as updated the source. it didnt sync last time i tried to update it. the source is definitely 1.8.4 now. i recommend redownloading the source sheepman. my bad on that one.

Someone drew a conclusion from mintpal, three days already in a pending?

i believe mintpal closed there ecc wallet already? at least i thought they had.

PLEASE NOTE. IF YOU UPGRADED TO THE 1.8.3 MAC WALLET, THERE IS AN ERROR. this error will cause you not to sync and label the healthy nodes as misbehaving. please revert back to the older version of the wallet (if you still have it) or upgrade to the 1.8.4 when i receive that compiled wallet from MdtSpain. if you dont still have it, it can be found in the github. i hadnt updated that one yet.

THE source for 1.8.4 is up. and the windows wallet will be as well momentarily. mac will come soon. sorry about this

HOWEVER i am 100% certain that with the 1.8.4 fixes and changes the sync problem is now 100% fixed. (some chain resetting pending)

The Mac-Wallet 1.8.4 is online.

yes mintpal closed their wallet a while ago, bloody lightweights , rinsed and dropped.
however.
swisscex is trading for ltc . spread from 22litoshi to 34litoshi.
i think its time it got back over 1 satoshi. dont you?
i've had a bunch of ecc from there and they didn't vanish in my wallet.

swisscex is on the old source. as far as i know they responded to us that they wouldnt update there wallet unless they herd from hostmaster. i would advise against trading there. ComKort and Allcoin both have updated wallets. i would reccomend the BTC/ECC pairing on comkort

well i hope the ecc i got there don't turn out to be lemons.
thanks for the heads up.

hows the windows update coming;
i haven't mined since last weeks.
plus no block for 3 hrs which was exactly when i put coins in my wallet from swisscex ? related ?

ALLcoin has now upgraded to the correct chain. they are synced with the block explorer (incase u wanted to see it) and you may now deposit and withdraw from that exchange without problems. lets get this trading moving!!!

Nope, stuck again at block 77049  - Restart wallet, nothing changed
My next unconfirmed transaction is my first mining transaction, is this the reason?

someone provide that poor man with a synced blockchain upload please
dev team should always have a official uploaded blockchain backup not older than a month

at least at DMD Diamond we do it that way

most people have a download bandwith thats faster to download blockchain file than sync via wallet

We can do that, but that doesn't resolve the real problem. We prefer to keep looking and resolve the problem instead of a temperary solution.

According to the above node, whether they should eccoin.conf file modification for the following ?

listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
maxconnections=100
rpcuser=
rpcpassword=

rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

i suggest use this:

ECCoin.conf
------------
noirc=1
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
maxconnections=30
rpcuser=yourusername
rpcpassword=yourpassword
addnode=192.99.141.216
addnode=38.93.234.100
rpcport=19119
------------
its good to start only with a few nodes where i know they are maintained and on right chain
its good avoid getting peers from irc because there all old wallets spam themself too as peer (if ecc havent disables irc per default but noirc=1 make sure its not used)
100 maxconnections is a lot if u run multipole coin wallets its better use less active connections i go with values between 20 and 40 deepending how important that coin is to me
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

i had already disabled IRC perminantly in the next version. but i hadnt pushed out that update yet because i was waiting for some other code to add to it. however i may need to just put that out because you are right about the IRC thing. i am testing it now though.

I tried the following config file:

noirc=1
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
maxconnections=2
rpcuser=my own user
rpcpassword=my own pw
addnode=192.99.141.216:19118
addnode=38.93.234.100:19118
rpcport=19119
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

Deleted all files in the appdata again and startet the client, now synchronizing with network only using the two nodes from config file.
Going very fast, nearly 30000 blocks downloaded at the moment, hope i can go over block 77049 this time.
