Well yes, for sure i dont expect to see Ajax another whole season like shit like the past one, but this start is ridiculous again for a team like them. Im 100% they are gonna turn the tide and climb positions very fast, but you know if PSV or Feyenoord are like the past seasons..... you are in big trouble because every point counts and they are not gonna drop so much points alongside the tournament.

Maybe we can use some high odds in favour of Ajax  Wink

Ajax look like they are improving slowly. I watched them against Jagiellonia and they were spectacular.  Smiley  Ajax were like back with their usual effectiveness in the attacking area. Scoring many goals and dominating.

I want this spirit more often. I don't even what the reason behind their playing much worse has been. Have they had that bad managers meanwhile for real?  Huh  It is like the first time I see them doing nice since Erik ten Hag times.

By the way PSV are just moving on the same. They are too strong for this league.  Grin  18 goals scored and only 3 conceded? I can already feel that back-to-back title. This performance deserves it.

Ajax has not found the rhythm of the game, its performance is not stable but we do not have to conclude that they will not be able to develop because they lost in the second match. The season is still young, there is still enough time to restore its best performance, especially Ajax has only played two matches and has a difference of two matches from other competing clubs including the current leader of the standings. that can be utilized. let's just enjoy the progress and see in the future, maybe Ajax will surprise.

In my opinion, what is happening is that the Ajax coach has been experimenting with the players and their positions. He does not have a fixed starting eleven or has made these changes to the starting eleven by looking at the Europa League games. When Ajax played against NAC, the coach rested players because he would have a Europa League game afterwards. Note that Ajax won both Europa League games with relative ease. I dare say that if Ajax had played seriously against NAC, they could have won. Now, Ajax has only played 2 games, while PSV has already played 4 games. So, Ajax's next games will be against Utrecht, who have already played 4 games and have not lost. I see this game:

~Snip~

It will be a game in which we will see if Ajax is really weak or not. Because Ajax will not have international games, so they will focus on playing seriously in this game. In my opinion Ajax can win

It is a thing of concern to see Ajax that was dominating the Netherlands Eredivisie to be so backwards for about a season or two now and it still looks like they haven't finally healed from their backwardness. Anyway seems they are being more concerned in the Europa league since they have a better performance there. PSV is gradually taking over from Ajax because their performance last season was superb and they have also started the season in same nature they did last season as they have now played 4 games and got all 12 points but as for Ajax we can't really judge them too quickly as they have only played 2 matches where they won a match and lost the other so they still have the time to prove if they have gotten back to form or not.
Utrecht is an average team in the Netherlands Eredivisie and looking at their performance currently they are really in good form but they have played 4 games, won 3 and draw in one of the games whereas Ajax just played 2 matches so Ajax will be more serious in winning Utrecht so I share same sentiment that Ajax can probably win.

Hahaha this is getting very strange, how is the huge and mighty Ajax touching this bottom? We all thing the nightmare ended the last season, but seems like they dont find the end of the hole.

Poor Ajax hardcore fans, when was the last time they were this bad?

Ajax's form has been poor for the last two seasons. Ajax finished fifth in the table last season. And in the 2022-23 season, the team was placed third in the table. And it is very unlikely that Ajax will be in the top 2 of the table this season as well.

Ajax started the season with a win but lost their second match. Ajax lost their second game against a team I was very surprised to see. Ajax lost against a team like NAC. We don't usually see this team in the eredivisie league. And this team last qualified for eredivisie probably in 2018-19 season. Ajax lost 2-1 against such a small and weak team. It's sad.

Ajax's biggest weakness last season was their defence. And I don't know if Ajax management tried to strengthen the defense this season. But I don't see any improvement in the defense. Ajax conceded 61 goals in 34 matches last season. If Ajax's defense continues to be weak this season, I don't expect this team to improve.

Yes but the main thing about this is Ajax is having very good teams with top players as always so i dont know how they are doing this bad, they canged the manager a few times and still no clue about a new begining.

Is super strange to see a huge team like this in a weak league like the Eredivisie strugle for this long.

Not in the last decade at least. They used to finish first or second until two seasons ago when they finished third and the previous disastrous season when they ended it fifth luckily..
When we look in the standings, we will see Ajax ranked 12th but in reality they still lacks two more games, one of them against Fortuna Sittard that will be played in two weeks. It was delayed because Ajax were playing in UEFA Europa League play-offs and they won and passed to the main competition. Well the game vs Fortuna will not be easy but Ajax used to win against it or at least gets a draw.
Winning the two lacking games will keep Ajax 3 points behind PSV Eindhoven which looks serious this season too.

In the first week of the Dutch league, there were no surprises. Last season's champions PSV started the league in a good way by defeating their rival Waalwijk with 5 goals in their first league match.
Another team that managed to get a different win was Groningen. It was also a good week for Groningen, who won 4-1 at home against NAC Breda.
There may not be much surprises in terms of the better teams winning their matches but by my pattern of playing this league, I was so disappointed at the outcome of some of the key matches. Normally, PSV is a high scoring side and being at home against a weak side Go Ahead Eagles, I expected them to produce at least 4 goals. Unfortunately, they were only able to produce 3 goals and that was how I lost this weekend. They won their first match with 5 goals just like you stated and I was thinking that trend would continue but they failed to deliver my expectations even though they did not concede any goal. Straight home win was not a great option for me because the odd was too small.

It is strange that Ajax in league games has had difficulty scoring more than 2 goals, in 2 games they only managed to score 2 goals, but in European competitions in 1 game they managed to score 4 goals. I do not know if this is because the opponent in European competitions is weaker than the opponents in the Eredivisie. But it is a clear fact that this season Ajax has little chance of becoming champion. When you look at the table

PSV have already scored 15 goals in just 2 games. This is something that shows how their attack is at a great level compared to Ajax and even if Ajax qualifies in the European Champions League, I highly doubt that Ajax will be able to go far in the European Champions League. That's why I don't have high expectations for Ajax this season. Before the season started I even had some hope that this season could be better than last season. But now I don't think so anymore. I only see disaster coming from Ajax.
Already at the top of the table with over nine points is PSV, they want to probably have the title in a row having had it in the most recent season, Ajax keeps baffling me with what looks like a serious decline in their side because I don't understand why they are at the far ninth position a d the season literally just begun, yet Ajax couldn't bost of a decent start already, I wouldn't want to believe they are going to continue this way this season after having all of their adjustments they made within the summer window, I had really wanted them contending so well that they be seen as to contenders at the level where they could appear like a threat to PSV, I will hope they get better before the season is far spent.

Well, Ajax has played 2 games in which they lost and won one, that's why they have 3 points. While PSV has played 4 games, won all 4 games and has 12 points, the other teams in the league have played 3 to 4 games. Ajax is the only team that has only played 2 games. Now we need to see what results Ajax will have when they play the next 2 games. If they lose then we can already conclude that Ajax has a greater chance of not winning the league and maybe not even finishing in 2nd or 3rd position because Feyenoord, who are not performing as well as they did last season, may finish in 2nd position.

AZ is starting this season very well, they have played 4 games, won 3 games and drew 1 game, but they have not conceded any goals. They are currently in second place with 10 points. I wonder if they will be able to maintain this position until the end of the season.

PSV has became so strong in the Netherlands Eredivisie since last season as they won the league with high point difference and goal difference and just immediately this season started they are already showing good signs of their continuing from their awesome performance last season so they are most likely to win the title again because I don't see any team in the Eredivisie that can challenge PSV now because Ajax that used to dominate the Eredivisie has not been in good form since last season and Feyenoord that was showing a bit of strength and energy lost focus along the line and this three teams are the most dominant in the Eredivisie so if Ajax and Feyenoord can't meet up the energy of PSV I wonder which other team can be able to do that. Imagine PSV scoring 15 goals in just 3 games played so far isn't it a kind of putting fear in their next opponents?
In last 14 years, we have 7 titles for the Ajax with all other teams having honor, but we have dominance for only Ajax which is now suffering due to having some bad decisions and PSV is having good dominance because 14 years back they were at the top and have few back to back titles as well now again they are bringing themselves to this level to have good results and stay at the top their start of this season is impressive with Ajax and Feyenoord both are struggling we will be having changes in coming rounds but with the current performance level I am not expecting any team to be created problems for the leaders PSV.

Now as we will be having start of the UEFA events we will be having some busy schedule for the top teams which can bring some changes but mostly here in Eredivisie is having good rotation system which helps these top teams to stay at the top level and having good results in all competitions as well.

-snip-Chances are high for them to have spot into UEFA Europa Cup but here in Dutch League they need to be had better results because now gape is widening between them at the top specially champions PSV is having amazing time as they are doing rain of goals 15 from 3 games.
PSV became the first team in the Eredivise to score double digits in goals. That is truly a superior record because no other team has managed to score 10+ goals in the first 3 league games. This is a very strong indication that they will be champions again this season. And for Ajax I think they started the season very badly. Getting 1 win and 1 loss, scoring 2 goals and conceding 2 goals is a bad result for a team like Ajax. At this time I think we can't determine which team will be PSV's competitor because it is still very early. But honestly I am not sure about Ajax's chances to improve their ranking from last season.

PSV is playing to win the title this season as well. And their squad is also very strong. PSV dominated the Eredivise last season. The players of the team were in excellent form from the beginning of the season. The team lost only one match in the entire season. PSV has got off to a great start this season. PSV won the first three matches. And the important thing is PSV scored a total of 15 goals in 3 matches and conceded only 3, this shows that PSV's attack is very strong this season too.

The Ajax team did not play well in the previous season. This team was at the fourth place in the table. I was waiting to see Ajax's comeback this season. But the Ajax team is not in good form this season either. The team lost their last match against NAC. Even Feyenoord lost two of their three matches. It probably won't be difficult for PSV to dominate the Eredivise this season.
There is no doubt PSV having start of their new season like champions because we have no other team in Eredivisie who have perfect start like them with Feyenoord is already struggling and having 2 draws Ajax having defeat in their second game all top ranked teams are having troubling start with this PSV is creating early gape which will help them after few rounds to keep them at the top without any pressure their attack is aggressive with having 15 goals in just 3 games clearly indicating how things will be in coming days.

Before start of the season there were few hopes about Ajax, but they are having not ideal start, so things are looking not positive for their chance at the top hopefully they will give their best for having rank into top four teams because this is also looking not easy with the current performance level of them and other teams at the top.

PSV started in very powerful way and it shows that they have serious intentions to defend title. This round they got huge 7:1 win against Almere City.
Feyenoord again dropped points, this time they ended 1:1 with Sparta. Welll, derby usually is different kind of game.

It's long time we have no activity from the OP @casperBGD, so I don't think so we can change the title of this thread as users are having no intention of title as well, and they are using this without any problem.
casperBGD said that he is leaving forum. So, we shouldn't expect that thread will be updated, unless he will return. Anyway, don't see any problem to continue using this topic.

Is there a new topic dedicated for Eredivisie 24/25? otherwise it would be better to update the title of this topic in my opinion.

Ajax started the season with a victory against Heerenveen by only one goal then lost 2 - 1 vs NAC, a team that just promoted to Eredivisie.. In Europa League, Ajax had to go through 13 penalties to win against Panathinaikos after a victory and a defeat in the main time of both legs. I don't see them fully ready to take the first place from PSV Eindhoven which seems to be fine until now!
Ajax is still having troubles, so things are not going as they are needed their next game is against Feyenoord at the De Kuip Rotterdam where they are having troubling time in last few games as they lost with huge margins in this season they are having 4 games from these two won and two loses, but their defense is having not good time because they are conceding goals in every game.

Chances are high for them to have spot into UEFA Europa Cup but here in Dutch League they need to be had better results because now gape is widening between them at the top specially champions PSV is having amazing time as they are doing rain of goals 15 from 3 games.
