Of course Ajax takes advantage of that PSV lose yesterday, Ajax beat Heerenven 0-2 away from home, it was a win Ajax needed, to keep their hopes in the title very much alive. Ajax eventually went on to score 3 goals but got one ruled out due to offside. It was never in doubt, Ajax were favorites in winning this one. They are now just 1 points behind PSV. Goals from Josip Sutalo and Chuba Akpom got the job very much done, the big defender was injured for a couple of weeks and he got back with a goal to his name, he have been missed and this makes it 2 goals in the league so far for him.

The title race is now very interesting, all points will vitally count, for both teams now you can’t afford to drop points, PSV looks like they were going to run away with it, but since the Christmas break that are still yet to get a win in the league. I have a feeling it will takes us to the last day to see who is winning this league.

Yep. I even said yesterday that this is going to happen and it did. Now , out of nowhere we have a championship battle between PSV and Ajax but I would also count it Utrecht with actually having a real chance to win. Personally , I don't think PSV will lose the title as the different between players is kinda big and the goals scored by PSV proves just that but like you said , the title will be very entertaining to watch.  Smiley

It's seems like PSV Eindhoven is trying to gift Ajax Amsterdam the Eredevisie trophy at the end of this season, because their flopps seem to be giving Ajax the chance to keep closing in on them based on points difference, right now it's just 4 points which means any more flop from the league leaders  then Ajax would over take them at the top of the table, maybe it's going to be a close race after all because PSV lost the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table after losing all 3 points to Zwolle in this weekend 's fixtures. Now it is left for Ajax to take  advantage of this situation and ensure that they secure all three points to keep the pressure on PSV Eindhoven so as to keep their title hopes alive this season.

A very disappointing result from PSV, a win today just like you said will but Ajax just one point behind them. If eventually they lose out on this title then it will be a very big blow to them. You can’t be losing match to Zwolle in times like this. May be if De Jong had scored from the penalty spot the result would have been different, they took total dominance but barely converted their chances. PSV haven’t win a single league match since the Christmas break, the break is affecting the team performance, it was a long break and they have lost that spark, the rhythm of their play. I’m not sure if they are in sole position in winning this title anymore.
If it were the first half of the season then it wouldn't have been a big deal because there would still be enough time to recover but in a situation like this it could be very detrimental to loose points especially to small team, if PSV can't contain a struggling team like PEC Zwolle then how can they withstand the likes of Ajax, Feyenoord, AZ Alkmaar etc. On the other hand it is some how interesting that this is happening now so that they can sit up and concentrate on prosecuting all their matches with due diligence.

AZ was leading twic eagainst PSV, but it wasn'tenough to win game against PSV. Luuk de Jong scored twice and saved his team from loss. Want to give some credit to De Jong - how great he is performing since return to PSV. Don't forget that he is already 34 years old.
PSV dropping points let Ajax to get closer to them, difference between them is just 4 points. Things is getting interesting.
De jong have been great since joining PSV, of course that penalty he missed cost them the game today, and now they are blowing their chances in winning the league. Ajax have been waiting for this kind of opportunity all season, it’s now there’s to grab, a win today will put them in that position they want to be. I think that long break have affected PSV performance so bad. They really need to get themselves together and bounce back as soon as possible.

Well we can see above a prediction of PSV scoring 3 goals...... we know now how that aged, incredible game, PEC ZWOLLE somehow scores 3 goals and win 3-1 against the leader and more powerfull team of the league. Nobody was expecting this shock.

Huge surprise in my opinion because scoring 3 goals against current team of PSV is really an achievement. Also with this defeat of PSV , the championship has been relaunched because both Ajax and Utrecht are looking for more opportunities to catch PSV and that also makes the games between them very important for title fight but I still think that PSV will be champions at the end of the season.  Cool

Currently losing by three goals to one against Zwolle, PSV have really messed up today, I mean with kind of odd given to Zwolle the home team, I would have expected them to win the game and secure the game but it's the total opposite as the home team continues to hit them on dangerous counter attack which have resulted to their three shots on target and all three have resulted to goals.

Of course this is quite a surprising result, Zwolle who in their last 4 matches have not been able to win, and overall have experienced more defeats than victories. Surprisingly, Johnny Jansen's team managed to get 3 full points from the top of the standings PSV Eindhoven.

whether this is a miracle or luck, but this is quite an impressive victory for Zwolle. in the match, it was seen that only a little ball possession and opportunities were obtained by Zwolle, but amazingly they were able to take advantage of and maximize these opportunities as best they could. Something that PSV could not do, because at least from a total of 18 kicks launched by PSV players, only 4 kicks were on target.

PSV's attackers must be able to return to their sharpness when on the field, especially in the upcoming match they will again undergo a fairly tight schedule, and return to fighting in the Champions League qualifying round.

PEC Zwolle - PSV Eindhoven (I see PSV winning this game easily and they will score at least 3 goals, the last time PSV played against PEC they managed to score 6 goals and I hope that in today's game PSV will also be able to score a lot of goals)

FC Utrecht - AZ Alkmaar (I see this game ending in a draw)

Willem II - Feyenoord (I see Feyenoord winning this game, they will manage to score 2 goals and both teams will score)

Go Ahead Eagles - Groningen (I see Go Ahead Eagles winning this game)
Look like second half of this season is having not good time for few teams which were dominating in first half of this season things are looking challenging for PSV which held by AZ Alkmaar in first game of this year at home with the score of 2–2.

In second game which is currently had half-time we have them trailing by 2–1 against Zwolle which is looking for their first win after having 4 poor results. Krastev score two goals for home team while we have missed penalty by de Jong for the PSV which is now going to start second half with more aggressive approach as they are looking for equalizer.

It's a result that left me very shocked, I know that PSV this season has already had 3 defeats, but I didn't expect them to concede 3 goals and lose against an opponent that in the last game they won comfortably to the point of having scored 6 goals, PSV this season are not doing well compared to last season, their luck is that the other teams are not doing well either and thanks to that they may have a good chance of becoming champions again.

Today's results in the Eredivisie League are surprising.
PEC Zwolle beat PSV Eindhoven 3-1. I did not expect this result.

Utrecht, AZ Alkmaar match ended 0-0, neither team scored, normally Dutch league matches are full of goals.

Willem II drew 1-1 with Feyenoord, Feyenoord were the favorites in this match but they had trouble scoring goals.

That's huge upset, many of us expected that result will be 3:1, just from other side Smiley
There is another upset as Feyenoord failed to beat Willem II and game ended 1:1. Disappointedabout Utrecht - AZ game which ednded 0:0 as I had BTTS bet.
So, now Ajax great chance to reduce gap to PSV. If they will win tomorrow, difference between them will be just 1 point.

totally beyond prediction and the result made me have to accept the loss of the bet.
The match that should have been an absolute advantage for PSV had to end in defeat for them. PSV had many chances but it seemed that it did not save them from defeat. The drama of failed penalties and disallowed goals made the match very interesting.
PSV must do better in the next match.

Ajax are not 4 points behind them, I think PSV will go on and win the league, their next couple of fixtures are very easy one and they could get maximum points. Ajax on the other hand have a couple of tough fixtures and maybe they could drop points, they play feyenoord in a couple of week and for sure it going be a very tough one too.

After PSV lost against Heerenveen last month, I started to believe that it is possible for PSV to lose in the remaining games even if they play against weak teams, but for PSV not to be champion, Jax would need to be very consistent to the point of not losing points in all the remaining games, something that I honestly don't believe will happen, that's why I see PSV being champion again this season.

Today's games:

PEC Zwolle - PSV Eindhoven (I see PSV winning this game easily and they will score at least 3 goals, the last time PSV played against PEC they managed to score 6 goals and I hope that in today's game PSV will also be able to score a lot of goals)

I expected PSV to win this match, yeah it a derby and it suppose to be tough but I think if the match was played before the Christmas and new year break PSV would have beaten AZ Alkmaar. They are very lucky they even got a draw because honestly I thought they lost the match already. They scored very late in the second half from a penalty spot to get a draw.

Luuk de jong is a vital player in this PSV squad, his experience have really help them so much this season. He is scoring with ease and always turn up when needed. He has now scored 9 goals and 4 assist in 15 league matches so far. To win the highest goal scorer this season will probably be hard for him due to his age but honestly he is doing well.

I see the las stage of the game.... AZ went so much down the pitch and give so much space to PSV to make the plays, anyways PSV didn t find any proper way to score, and was saved by a lucky penalty because the AZ player was retiring his hand and the ball was direct to his hand, very bad luck for them.

Right now Utrech wins in Roterdam, majestic win.

Well like all of us expected Ajax is winning easily against Waalwijk by 2-0 when im writing this, is ok to win but thinking about the match, you are playing against the most weak team in the whole league i think they need to score more goals to left a better sensation in this comeback of the league.

PSV has really improved more than what we saw last season and this is evident in their performance in the champions league where they got some surprising wins, though they aren't on the best positions on the table log of the champions league League but statistically they have really impressed this season more than Ajax, whereas Ajax Amsterdam who has had to struggle with lots of issue with players are now recuperating very well and trying to put their team in order so as to enhance their performance and it has been a very wonderful season for them I must say because their level of consistency is what has helped them to be behind psv on the table but I don't see them overtaking the Eindhoven club to the title.
[/quote

Talking about PSV's performance in the Champions League qualifying round, it seems that Feyenoord's results are better than PSV's, where Feyenoord managed to collect 10 points, while PSV was only able to collect 8 points, PSV's position is not really safe to qualify for the play-off round. and this can happen because most of the opponents faced by PSV are stronger compared to some of the opponents faced by Feyenoord.

PSV's match in the Champions League qualifying round, there are only two more matches left, and PSV still needs a win to advance to the next round. However, it is very unfortunate that the opponents they will face in the remaining two matches are not easy opponents, where PSV will face Liverpool and Brest, teams that are currently in the top 8 competition in the standings.
