Ajax have opened the new season before PSV and Feyenoord with Europa League qualification matches.  Smiley  They looked good in friendly matches first and they didn't have big issues with eliminating Vojvodina also. But until seeing them defeating tougher opponents I don't want to be confident of them. At least for now, it looks like they are well-prepared.

On the other hand in the Johan Cruyff Shield match, I see Feyenoord look readier than PSV.  Cool  They got 2-1 ahead with a comeback and the match is really entertaining. PSV have a 3-title streak in this tournament so do you think it will be broken by Feyenoord today?

Time to bump this topic - club football is returning back to action and on Sunday we have Dutch season opener - Johan Cruyff Shield or in other words Super Cup between PSV and Feyenoord. We don't really know what to expect from teams as we only can judge from friendly games, what isn't good indicator. I'm probably going to put money on BTTS and over 2.5 goals if wodds won't be too low.

The whole Barcelona tiki-taka was invented at Ajax by Cryuff and yet they are not playing with any system these days, because they keep firing managers before they build a system. I think if they really wanted to, they could have hired someone better, they just do not look at manager position as a vital part and just want to get young players they can sell for more later on.
If Ajax keep firing their managers then I think the future for Ajax will be quite bad. They are through to the European Cup qualifiers next season but it looks like they won't be able to go any further. I think they should be able to follow the example of other teams like City or Liverpool who give coaches the opportunity to build their squad. There are many examples of other clubs but sorry I don't think I can give an example from the Eredivise. But at least Ajax should start to stop firing coaches without letting them coach a season or two and monitoring the team's development.

Farioli isn't that great of a manager if you ask me, and considering Ajax has been firing managers quite frequently, I think it's quite clear that they have no idea what they are doing at all. We should consider how they could do better in the end, and we should consider how they could have a manager that would be a "system guy", which would mean that they would play better.

Without any doubt PSV done impressive work but now can they keep things at this level, or we are having some problems which is surely going to be another advantage for the Ajax but still things could be exciting in this next season, and we will have all matches full of entertainment and things could tough for the top five teams to keep themselves at their spots.
If you look at previous history, over the last 3 seasons the top five positions in the Eredivise have always been filled by Ajax, PSV, AZ Alkmaar, Twente and Feyenoord. This shows their consistency and an increasingly competitive league. I remember that the EPL used to have big four which referred to the top 4 clubs which always belonged to City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham. Maybe we can call this the big five in the Eredivise. Next season Ajax has the motivation to win the league championship. Az Alkmaar and Twente must be able to maintain the consistency of their game because they have slumped in the last few matches.

It can be fun to guess the next season which teams are gonna be in the top.

Do you think we are gonna see a super Ajax comeback? I think maybe, they cant have two abd seasons in a row and also they surely wants to wip out this bad image of them.

Can PSV make another super season like this one? I doubt about that.
Ajax achieved extraordinary progress, at the start of the season they were very difficult due to the absence of several very important players for Ajax and also the coach, but they managed to get back out of their bad zone and managed to finish in 3rd place, with this proving that Ajax will be ready to start next season even better to give the best to its supporters I think Ajax will be successful next season.

PSV has been extraordinary this season, but for next season I doubt they will keep the trophy, because this season many PSV players will be looked at by other European clubs, if they leave then PSV will lose its momentum like now.
In last six years, we are having three titles for the Ajax with as we have exit of Ten Hag things are looking not positive but in last two seasons they are trying to achieve their best and as they have fight back in this season from relegation zone to fifth spot we can expect better results because now Feyenoord is also having change of coach which is going to have some impact on their performance even PSV is looking at better, but things could be challenging for them as Ajax wants place in top spots and this could be created fierce competition at the top.

NAC Breda saw the importance of winning 6-2 at home.Excelsior failed to stay in the league despite beating their opponents 4-1 at home. When we look at the history of the matches between these 2 teams, we see that NAC breda has the advantage.Excelsior could have stayed in the league if they had not been reduced to 9 men in the first meeting, but they paid a heavy price for that. It's a sad result for Excelsior who couldn't stay in the league despite defeating their opponent 4-1.They didn't even give their opponent many scoring opportunities and despite that they couldn't score enough goals.Troy Parrot scored 3 goals in the match and it was difficult for them to score 1-2 more goals against their opponent.

Getting such defeat in the second leg by a team in the relegation zone is going to be a nice start of the next season for NAC Breda. No need to mention that they end in the 8th place in their league..
They need to sign some players to consolidate their squad and the defence line to start with, otherwise they are going to return from where they came very fast.

Right now, we are having 2nd leg match between NAC Breda vs Excelsior at the half-time we are having Excelsior leading by 3–0 which is impressive comeback by them after conceding 6–2 defeat in 1st leg as I was not expecting this performance from them after having humiliating defeat, but they are doing their best for staying into Eredivisie.

Parrott score two goals which helps home team to have their chance for having spot into Eredivisie now next 45 minutes are going to be interesting with NAC Breda needs to be had something improved otherwise things can go out of the way for them even they were able to win first leg game by big margin.

It was a game with a shocking result, in my opinion, I expected it to be a more balanced game since NAC did very well in the first leg game, managing to score 6 goals, but it's strange that in this second leg game they didn't they seemed to be the same NAC from the first leg game, in this second leg game, NAC had difficulties in attack, they only scored 1 goal and they also had problems in defense, they conceded 4 goals, something that could have harmed them, but NAC managed to score 1 goal, something that was like a salvation for them,

With this result, NAC had an advantage even though they lost in that game, NAC's luck was that they managed to score 6 goals in the first leg game and only conceded 2 goals, even though Excelsior tried hard in today's game and managed to scoring 4 goals was not enough to reverse the disaster of the first leg

Eredivisie can be one of the really unbalanced leagues in Europe by the way.  Grin  Because a big goal difference situation in a match happens quite often while the odds of 2 sides are pretty close in fact.

There is an example like the first leg of NAC Breda - Excelsior which was played recently. The odds were both between 2.00-2.50 as far as I remember but it ended 6-2.  Smiley  This league is really full of unexpected events but mostly we watch a serious amount of goals in matches which makes it really enjoyable. Maybe Eredivisie isn't one of top 5 leagues  for now but Netherlands is maintaining the 6th place in country coefficients list for 2 seasons at least.

In the Conference League Play-off final match, Utrecht lost the match in extra time.I expected Utrecht to defeat their opponent, but Go Ahead really pushed their opponent.Nick Viergever scored 1 goal each for his own goal and the opponent's goal and took the match to extra time.In extra time, Utrecht could not prevent Kramer's goal in the 117th minute and unfortunately lost this match.Perhaps this was the biggest share of the loss of Utrecht, who played the extra minutes with 10 men.It was a sad result for them.

Changing managers in a short time will never produce good results, it's no wonder Ajax Amsterdam is not in the top 2 this season. Francesco Farioli managed to make Nice have better results than last season, maybe that was the team's expectation as to why they recruited him, contrary to your opinion buddy, i think Farioli can stay a little longer at Ajax because he will start from the start of the season.

Ajax staff should be happy with the actual results of their team since at the beginning, Ajax Amsterdam was basically in the relegation zone and doing miserable. We could understand changing the first coach (second in the table) by October due to the failure and the second change is just a temporarily coach. By that time, Ajax improved and was able to pick a Europa League qualifiers spot which was something the most optimistic one did not see it coming with the team being awkwardly at the bottom of the table..

We have another change of manager for Ajax by the end of June... Farioli has been signed for next season. He is starting his job at Ajax by July 1.

This is literally 5th manager Ajax have had in the last year. It is really crazy you know.  Sad  This isn't a healthy way to recover. I always say that because you need to give your manager a proper time to improve the team. If you give them only one season or even a shorter time then it is harder for you to rise in the standings.

I won't be surprised if they act unfair to Farioli also.  Tongue

I feel like Ajax going down is mainly because they are running a sustainable club. Sure that means they are not going to be insanely well in a second just because they got money, but look at the last 5 years or so and how much money they made from transfers.

I am not sure how correct the data is, but I can tell you from transfermarkt that it is about 200 million euros. Do you think that they spent all of that money on something else? This isn't the revenue, I am talking about 200 million euros after all the players they bought too, because they made so much by selling. The point is that they are not rushing to get the new star and spend 50 on many players, they are sustainable, and that means sometimes they take a stepback and rebuild and get that money again.

Things like these are not new in European leagues with we have many teams which were fighting for the top spots and then suddenly ended in relegation zone even many are still trying to survive for the spot in their respective leagues in last 2 decades I personally watch many ups and downs for the many clubs with now we are having Vitesse which is punished rightly as things like these are also impotent if you want to keep play with the rule of Fair Play most chances now they will be not able to have themselves back into league in next few years which could be huge setback for them.

Dutch League is now improving their quality which is good thing, and they need to be at this level with having consistency has never been easy but still important as they could be increase their numbers in UEFA.
Vitesse have not had a very good run of form and you can say so from the way they still remain in the relegation zone as they haven’t been able to get enough points to help them off that zone. Now they have been hit with points deduction and you can only begin to imagine what their hope will now look like in the run to come off relegation. Well as it stands, they’re real hopeless and it’s evidently clear they won’t be remaining in the main leagues next season.

Now you begin to wonder what all happened in this run that led to this poor form because this wasn’t the team we knew some season back that was challenging for the top half of the league. Well most clubs especially across Europe are in this kind of situation, challenge the big boys for a while and after that you see them folding up and returning to relegation. So this situation of Vitesse is more like familiar in the football space and we aren’t surprised though.

The punishment yes could have been severe but I feel it better serves as a reminder that it’s safer to stick to FFP rule. I think with this move we can tell how much the league body wants to improve the face of the league and now I wish the clubs too also improve their style of play. This will help them majorly when they get to UEFA competition to challenge the other clubs across Europe.

Vitesse and Ajax could not meet in the last week of the league.Vitesse had no chance to stay in the league as they had already been penalized points in the league. They managed to get points from this match with the goal of Steven Berghuis in Ajax in the last minutes.
Feyenoord, on the other hand, won in the last match.Feyenoord managed to score 4 goals in the second half of the match, which ended scoreless in the first half, and managed to win the match comfortably.
AZ Alkmaar drew with 3 goals in the second half of the match, which closed the first half 3-0 ahead. They had a chance to get 3 points from this match in the last match of the league, but they could not even manage that. In the 60th minute, De Wit's red card disrupted the whole game plan.
