Nice game today probably between Feyenoord and AZ. Important for the championship. If AZ wins this match, AZ will be the leader for the first time in this competition. A few matches ago, Feyenoord's lead was so large that the competition actually seemed to be decided. That could be completely different tonight because of 1 game. Of the top 5, Ajax and PSV are currently playing the worst football, and not much has changed since the arrival of Heitinga. Except that they won a few times, but that was against relatively weak opponents on paper. Winning 4 times in a row obviously helps in the battle for the championship. We will probably get the most exciting denouement between so many teams in the Eredivisie. AZ can also use another success.

Ajax are still in the race but the leaves of Ten Hag and some star players make them less competitive than previous seasons but with these rankings, they can win Eredivisie again.
With only 3 different points left, Ajax still has a chance to get the Eredivisie title. It's just a time to adapt after Ten Hag and other players leave last season. As we can see from the beginning how they overtake the position before. And, so far they just lose versus PSV in the last 13 matches which I think, Ajax is still worth considering.
Which shows how good they are in that league. I mean think of how many teams could have a bad first half, still be close and then won 3 in a row to get just within 3 points to the title tea? I think Ajax is just too good and they would definitely win something this year, they could be in the title chase very soon and if they keep winning a few more in a row, they will be at the top for sure.

You do not see a good team being good by their wins, you see a bad team being bad by their losses, and when it matters, if you lose that means you weren't a good team and the teams at the top does that, they end up losing points exactly when they need it.

There is only 6 points difference between Feyenoord in first place and Twente in fifth place.  This shows that Feyenoord will have to work very hard to keep his place.  Every team wants to be the champion in the Dutch league and at the moment the scoreboard is very mixed.  Still my favorite for the championship is Ajax.

I can't remember the last time it was this close in the Eredivisie, you have to admit that this year Ajax and PSV are not that strong either, think how many points Ajax and PSV had in this round last year, unbelievable. But this year Ajax and PSV are a bit weaker than the last years and the other teams a bit better, perfect for us. To become champions is also a declared goal of the teams, it's about the fixed Champions League place and a lot of money.

Ajax won the game with a strong finish, and it was deserved, Ajax had 74% possession but possession alone does not decide a game.

The TOP5 won all their games, Ajax got back on track after many draws and unlike the others won the last 3 games and are now back in the title race. Feyenoord has a very difficult match against AZ in the next round, the current table.

With these temporary rankings, all five clubs have same chances to win the Eredivisie title. They are not too different on the table and this league is like a most exciting league in Europe in 2022 - 2023 season. I am aware that Eredivisie does not belong to top five leagues in Europe that are Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 but about title race, it is a best at least in this season.

Ajax are still in the race but the leaves of Ten Hag and some star players make them less competitive than previous seasons but with these rankings, they can win Eredivisie again.

Win 3:1 against Waalwijk wasn't that easy as it looks in final score. They let opponents to score first and only took a lead in final 15 minutes game. I still wouldn't make conclusions about Heitinga, as they haven't faced strong opponents yet. Yeah, they won against Twente in cup, but cup games isn't best indicator. Let's see how they will look in Europa league playoffs against Union.

After 21 rounds now we have interesting change of momentum in Eredivisie as top four teams having just 4 points difference which is interesting now in 22nd round we will have good change at top with Feyenoord is going to AZ Alkmaar which is going to be helpful for the third and fourth spotted teams Ajax and PSV because in case of lost AZ Alkmaar will be at fourth and in case of draw still they will have chance for the having drop of their spot which is entertaining because we will have top teams at top spots and things could be interesting for the end of this season which will have three same quality teams at top with level in performance will fight for the title race, but AZ Alkmaar still have chance to stay in hunt behind them and take their chance for the title or higher rank as well.

There could also be some general turnaround in the Eredivisie for the years to come as Ajax Amsterdam had to sell their key players so often now. Not always will it work out to quickly replace them. At some point they might be suffering from giving away those players and the other teams can catch up. It seems to be the case for now. That is good news for everyone who is following the league and not so good for the Ajax Amsterdam fans. Wink

Maybe all of those games were against weak teams but these wins are very important for Ajax anyway. Because they needed to boost their morale somehow.

They scored 12 goals and conceded 2 in their last 3 games in the league. These are amazing statistics for Ajax indeed. It's like the version of them we are familiar with is back again now. This is really important for them as well right before the beginning of the Europa League. Maybe their priority is the Eredivisie but I think they would do their best in the Europa League as well.
Relatively in round 21 we have mostly matches of top teams against weaker sides which give them good confidence but now in round 22 we have few exciting matches as Feyenoord is going to host AZ Alkmaar and then PSV is going to visit Utrecht which is playing good soccer at home and PSV is struggling in away matches Ajax is going to host Sparta Rotterdam which is also improving their performance and now having not lost in last five games even Ajax can ruin them at home but still better games which will surely bring some changes at the top, and we will have interesting phase of this season with UEFA competitions are also going to start from today and all top Dutch teams are also involved in them.

Let's see how they will look in Europa league playoffs against Union.

Union is rolling pretty seriously at the moment, winning all matches after WC, and having Ajax win @1.9 for this match is a joke IMO
not saying that Ajax is not going to win this, but I expected in range 2.3-2.5, below 2 has no value at all

but DC on Union, not to lose, can be a good option for betting

with all said, match can go on any side, but Union should pass through in the end

Ajax has improved recently, after the international break ajax played several matches without winning they even struggle for a draw but their consecutive winning lately has proven that they have really improved drastically, we all know that ajax is been known for their tactical and aggressive attacking football that what happened today in a between them and waalwijk, an encounter that ended 3:1 in favour of Ajax, but a lot has to be done by ajax in the area of defensive mildfield.

Since the arrival of the Heitinga, Ajax has indeed won all 3 matches, but what does that say in this competition? A winning coach is always right, and in the end it's all about the points in football. Then we must conclude that he did a very good job. Still, they could have easily lost the match against Excelsior (that wouldn't even have been strange). But it also shows resilience that they still managed to win today's game despite an earlier deficit. I think that is also part of the quality of a player / team. For many players, the focus will be on the European matches that will be played in the coming days.

 Grin

i'm laughing because in this game ajax conceded a goal in the 18 minutes, so i wonder if someone managed to bet on ajax's victory even though they were losing after 18 minutes, if someone bet on ajax when they were losing then that person must have gotten a decent odd on this game, I didn't particularly bet on this game or any Dutch league game, but I confess that if I had seen ajax's game after the 18 minutes they lost, I would have bet on them, it would be an easy profit

about the position of each team in the table, with this return of ajax we can already predict that in a few games we will see ajax at the top of the table and being champion, I do not see any other scenario at the end of the season, ajax will be champion once again

In this round status quo remains, as all teams from leading group won their games. Feyenoord had most diffiuclt win 1:2 against Heerenveen. While PSV had one of the most dominating performances this season, destroying Groningen 6:0. Their stats looks amazing, 34 shots, 13 on target.

So Jhon Heitinga its now the manager of Ajax, really nice to see him. I remember him a lot in the netherland national team, he was a regular one.

Later im gonna check some odds....

Yes that's right. Heitinga has been in charge of Ajax's 2nd team for the past few years and Ajax has decided to temporarily make him head coach. Little experience, but a child of the club and knows all the players. He may even have played together with some at Ajax. Schreuder made a very immature and childish impression in his press conferences. Peter Bosz was also free as a coach, but seems not to have been approached. But you can't call Ajax's last 3 matches because they were significantly lesser opponents. In the EL next week we will see where Ajax really stands against Union Berlin.

Ajax is currently at a 1-1 score in the home match against RKC. Still quite a loss if you think about it. Structurally, a lot still needs to change. It is a matter of time before Ajax will no longer compete for the title. Twente was already leading 3-0 in the first half and we still see that score on the board now. Vitesse has been almost at the bottom for a while, but has too much quality. They have climbed out of the valley, but I don't think there is more than enforcement for this team. Still curious if a coach like Peter Bosz could bring Ajax back to the old level.
