Just curious where Edward50 is currently.

Is he still pretending himself as an dirty savior in other coins?

You know what screw it.  My whole 2.850 Mhash/sec dedicated towards RPC until fork.

Because it's the right thing to do.

Let's get the p2pool hashrate up.

Come on people!   I'm expecting to wake up tomorrow morning and see this number many times multiplied.  Please don't disappoint!     :-)

excellent.  I will take your word for it.   thanks onaboat.

I can confirm that coinedup has already upgraded to the new client. If you care to confirm personally Pete from coinedup is very active on reddit

anyone mining on the old client will be wasting time.

For anyone trying to mine locally with p2pool:

You can start p2pool like so:

./run_p2pool.py --net rpcoin

Then point your mining software (eg cminer) at it.

pool url is: stratum+tcp://localhost:9127
worker user should be your ronpaulcoin address.
worker password is ignored.

Hope that helps!

$ git clone https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/tree/rpcoin
Cloning into 'rpcoin'...
fatal: https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/tree/rpcoin/info/refs?service=git-upload-pack not found: did you run git update-server-info on the server?

FAIL!

But this worked.

$ git clone https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav
$ cd p2pool-rav
$ git checkout rpcoin

Figured that might help somebody out.

So I can still safely keep my RPC in coinedup - IF/WHEN they switch to the new client, since the new client handles all the new blockchain info? I'm certain it's the case, just posing the question here for anyone confused.

Well done rav3n.   I encourage everyone to use a locally running p2pool instance, and to tip rav3n and the p2pool author.

Why p2pool?

  * totally decentralized.  no central point of failure.  as per Satoshi's vision.
  * you never have to trust an exchange operator to payout correctly.
  * you get your address directly in the coinbase transaction.
  * you don't have to pay any fee, ever.  but you can donate.
  * you always get your share of the transaction fees also.
  * you will be one of the cool kids.   ;-)

Why run p2pool locally?
  * If you do not, most of the above points disappear, and you are essentially just using another central pool.
  * If few or no people run locally, then we no longer have a decentralized pool.

I'm going to try this out now.   If you're a miner reading this, then you should too!

Network time per block decreasing - now at 41 minutes and change.  T-Minus 232 blocks until fork.

So just for giggles I typed setgenerate true 1 in the console of the wallet and it appears to be mining. Is it mining RPC or is that some left over lightcoin code. Would this help with hashing us to the block fork or is it a bad idea?

update:

looks like im getting 2 kh?
