The final match of the Road to Rio tournament was a thriller with an major upset to Cloud 9 who were heavy favorites to go onto the finals.
They were upended in the final map by Mouz who were down 5-0 on map 3 but then won 8 rounds in a row and didn't look back.
Had all my 5+ multibets with Cloud 9 whom were 1.34x going in prematch.

Legends stage is now finished. We are now in the Champions stage and here are the final 8 teams who qualified for the Champions Stage.

1. Cloud9 vs MOUZ

2. Outsiders vs Fnatic

3. Heroic vs Team Spirit

4. Furia Esports vs Na'vi

Because of this unexpected results coming from Rio Major, there is now a new #1 in world ranking. Faze and Vitality is now down to 3rd and 4th spot. THe new #1 in world ranking is Na'vi followed by Liquid. We will still expect so much changes in the ranking as the tournament progresses. We may see Furia go high in ranking as they are heavily favored by the crowd. The chants of the crowd while Furia is electrifying.

Do you have any favorite in the teams left for Rio Major?
Glimpsed at all the matches yesterday and they were thrilling ones to watch. Placed bets on over 2.5 maps and the later ones did go the distance.
I personally liked Team Liquid but they got beat by Team Spirit so are out of the champions stages as you had mentioned.
Didn't like Mouz going through as they made me lose when I bet on them. But those games were one offs and the ones yesterday only matter to put them through the bracket.
But for me it is Navi to continue on to the finals as they one of the best players of the tournament s1mple.
Boltz mentioned they will be facing off with Furia so the crowd will be on the home country favorites to win this group stage.

Cloud9 vs Mouz is like already watching the finals! Cloud9 ...they are in monster form and they should reach the finals but Mouz are on the exactly same page with Dexter having the lan of it's life so far!

Outsiders vs Fnatic ...I guess it's JAME TIME and VP should win this game.

Heroic vs Team Spirit ...this is where I get lost in my picks. Both teams are playing great with a slight advantage to Heroic and CaDian.

Furia vs NaVi ...what can we want more from this ? It's the best game from Champions Stage.

I think all the teams that I picked to win have all fell off the way side for my bets.
Mind you I had mostly the b01 matches selected from the beginning and only did place a bet on Mouz to win yesterday in their match with Outsiders.
Yup, a lot of good teams are on the rise this time compared to the previous major where you can see a few teams that stood out from the rest.

I've also been losing so much thanks to these upsets and skipped the remaining rounds since I think my chances of winning are much better once the legends stage is over.

Placed 4 bets , all them lost. If I pick favorites , they will insta lose and if I pick underdogs they will lose first map and win the next two...I think this Major is just for ruining bets tickets and make fans malding...
This is so accurate for most of the games, no favorite is safe and I hope it changes in the playoffs.

Nobody was expecting DRX to reach the finale. However as of the play-in stage, they have showed a very strong performance. Because of this I've bet on DRX win at high odds for like their every match. I've managed to make some profit. This time I decided to try my luck against T1 in the finale one last time despite being really difficult.
That is a massive win so a rather late congratulations to you on this victory for your bet in the realm of Esports @CLS63 !

@boltz @ralle14 This Road to Rio tournament has been the strangest one I have witnessed in a long time.

I'm on the same page! This RIO major is the strangest major I've watched as well. Like , let's start with the beginning:

We have a lot of GREAT teams that are not here ( G2 , Astralis per example )
Number 1 team in the world Faze got wrecked 0-3 and went home ...without really putting out a fight and it looked like a trow in my opinion.
Vitality , NIP already home with both of them being favorites to win it before the tournament began.
Crowd...cheating more than other crowds and from last night we have officially a delay during streams because of the crowd.
Furia ...everything in their favor to win this major it seems. Why ? Because first of all , all the important teams stepped away from this MAJOR so yea...Furia has bigger chances and all that + the casters are keep saying that Furia and Brasil needs a new generation that will make them love CS:GO again...

Congrats on the win, when it got to the deciding game I thought DRX was about to lose because in all four games whoever picks Varus wins the game but DRX showed they don't need Varus to win.

NaVi just lost another game  Angry and this time they had 12-7 before Liquid got a comeback and won the game. Yesterday I was ok , NaVi lost to Cloud9 ...happens but today it happened again and NaVi looks shaky in this major and they need to find a way to turn their engine on and start winning some Bo1 important games because if they don't , some teams will realize that NaVi is not in great shape and they will bite them for sure. Remember that ,they didn't even play with Faze, Vitality or Furia yet... Undecided
Team Liquid has been performing well lately though. The good thing for Navi is they don't have to go through another bo1 in the next round and it'll be interesting to see which team they'll be matched against(I'm guessing Vitality).

Yep. Unfortunately Imperial Sportsbet are already out of contenders games but overall they are a progressive team that should slowly get in their mojo and start winning games. 00Nation are out as well unfortunately but Taco and Coldzera put out a show out there with some insane kills and highlights. Overall , the hype for RIO Major was real as the crowd is insane and main stage will most likely be absolute madness and I hope Nip will do well haha. Grin
Had my sights on watching a few matches today but there was nothing showing for the future markets.
I think they will resume this weekend with the brackets of whom will qualify.
Yes, sad the Sportsbet sponsored team is out of this tournament as they had the home crowd on their side.
Furia looks like they would go far but it just wasn't meant to be either.
NIP are the strong contenders with Team Vitality in this year's IEM Road to Rio.

Don't know if anyone else noticed Imperial Esports playing in the Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio yesterday but they faced the hardest challenge in Team Vitality. They didn't fair to well but there are a few Brazilian teams still in the hunt. Such as 00Nation which seem to be contender this season.

What just happened to the match with Tundra vs Team Secret?
Tied at 17-17 of the second map of the match was paused for about 2 minutes due from a player doing that.
Does that not show info to the other team?

I also do not know what happened. I do not think the casters said the reason it was paused but it actually does not matter. Team Secret still lost that game and the game after that. They were beaten by Tundra, 3-0. It was a sweep and Tundra has no chill. They did not even give Team Secret a win, like a gentleman's sweep. They were very strong this TI and Team Secret has no answer to them.

Congratulations to Tundra for winning The International 2022.

Aster vs Liquid is the first game and someone will have to retire after this game , even if it's Matu or Monet but I would like to see both of them to hang up near Dota or keep playing but Matu was very serious when he said this TI will be his last run:(. For this game , I will have to trust Matu and Liquid to take the series maybe 2-1.  Cool
Just managed to get up to see the second map of the Tundra match and they are leading in that series
Looks like a series of the underdogs going on to the finals to me.

Team Secret and Tundra are the most consistent teams in this TI. They have finished on top of their group and never lost a game in Upper Bracket. They are going strong in this TI. It is possible that whoever loses in this match will come back from the lower bracket and get their revenge in the Finals. The advantage of coming from the Lower Bracket is they will have more games going to the Finals. They will be warmed up before entering the Finals. We've seen a lot of this comeback before.
I remember some of the region qualifier teams that got first place tends to come from the lower brackets so it could work in their favor but it can still backfire since potentially playing 5-8 games in a row can be mentally draining for the team that's coming from the lower bracket while the other team has more preparation time heading into the grand finals.

You are right, it is mentally and physically draining, especially if it is done on the biggest stage in the DOTA tournament. But, Team Liquid and Team Spirit have done it before so it is possible to win TI from the lower bracket. Team Spirit actually played the whole 8 games in Lower Bracket Finals and the Grand Finals. It is tough for normal players like us but I think professional players can endure it since they have trained for this tournament.

JDG and T1 both are performing extremely well who do you think will win and with which score,

I think it will end with 3-2 JDG being the winner.

Coincidentally, the Worlds semi-finals will be starting several hours after TI so we'll be having more top-tier matches to watch.  Smiley
