PGL Wallachia Season 2: Southeast Asia Open Qualifier #1 is about to start today. There are no matches that I can see so far but this is just the first round until the closed qualifier starts. And after this #1 open qualifier, there will be two winners that shall proceed to the closed qualifier and then the #2 or round 2 starts for this open qualifiers.

The total prize pool for this PGL Wallachia Season 2 is $1M and it is going to happen in Bucharest, Romania. Lucky are those teams that are already invited. Here's the list of them while we wait for each region's matches;

So the remaining slots will come from the closed qualifiers and it's only going to be 1 slot per region.

-snip

They all look like tough matches to predict as you got the ones which seem to be easiest! Smiley

Dang, totally not the easiest. I had my hopes though after BIG won the 1st map, the 1st map score was 13-7 so thats pretty dominating 1st map imo but oh well I lost my bet. Should have gone for the classic over 2.5 maps to get some profit from this but yeah I was just trying to hit that big odds before the playoffs

Alternate vs Falcons ...oh , I can't trust Falcons at all but I do like what are they cooking because they are playing a completely different CS2 than the rest of the teams.  Cool

Turned out Falcons won 2-0 against Alternate. Next one against BIG, I think Im going to bet on BIG to win and over 2.5maps on this one. Kinda wanna take a shot on -1.5 again but we'll see if I can get decent odds tomorrow

Yes I will be later on today and from the looks of it I just missed betting on the MongolZ & BiG as those two are leading their games. I am interested in the following matches:
FURIA Vs Liquid
3DMAX Vs Heroic
Complexity Vs Eternal Fire
ALTERNATE aTTaX Vs Falcons

They all look like tough matches to predict as you got the ones which seem to be easiest! Smiley

Awesome day for watching CS2 indeed. We just had Saw who managed to make a huge comeback and win the series 2-1 against BIG ( after BIG was leading 1-0 after 1st map ) and with this victory Saw are qualified for Groups of Cologne.

Furia vs Liquid  = Furia took 1st map and I'm smelling a comeback possibility here as well.

Complexity vs EF it's the game of the day for sure and I think EF will actually win this series.

Alternate vs Falcons ...oh , I can't trust Falcons at all but I do like what are they cooking because they are playing a completely different CS2 than the rest of the teams.  Cool

Anyone betting on IEM Cologne?

Trying to take advantage on early games where there isnt any clear favourites yet so the odds on -1.5 would be pretty decent like this. Seems pretty risky but the odds makes it worth it if it hits.

Well actually the odds for BIG to win is around 1.8 or something as well, so thats also decent if any of you wanna lower the risk

No Dota 2 games for a while but 2024 is still full of tournaments and I will enlist some of them here.
Actually, there are some tournaments but these are minor tournaments and tier 2 and 3 teams are participating. One is EPL World Series America Season 13 and LATAMAX Cup Royal for both North and South America. RES Series but currently in SEA region as of the moment and there's also the EURO PRO League. Well, can scout some of the good teams here but they're mostly boring matches IMO. Maybe the tournament is SEA is likely the one that I'd avoid although I know that competition there is tougher but due to these kinds of tournaments can be sold unnoticingly, I might just get onto some of them but not so serious as the past that we've got.

FISSURE Universe: Episode 3 , Krasnoyarsk Mayor Cup 2024 , The International 2024 ,  PGL Wallachia Season 2 , DreamLeague Season 24.

So plenty of Dota 2 to see until 2024 ends  Cool
These are what are interesting to wait, top teams and some aspiring new teams that might qualify.

Congratulations also to the top 4, I mean these 2nd-4th places we don't typically see them end this great or it's just because there's a split of good teams that the others were in China to compete for the Clavision? Still, great achievements!
I'd say the latter together with a hint of luck, still, it's always good to see tier two teams secure a good portion of a big prize pool because most Dota tournaments always have a bunch of tier-one teams invited except for this season's Elite League as a few teams got their visas denied.
I agree, IMO, these kind of tournaments should also have some counterpart sponsored tournaments somewhere else. It's good to see that there's another one on going with a huge prize pool as well so that those teams that didn't qualify for the major one, will have to go to the other tournament that they've been invited.

it's just too bad that my bets have been always opposite with you guys but you did great!
I also didn't have the greatest time betting on the Elite League since Team Liquid can't have a clean win in most of their series and kind of gave up halfway through the playoffs.  Tongue
I was disappointed on them when I've bet for few with them. Whilst for Execration despite that they have ended 4th place, they've given me more Ws.  Tongue

Just to have an update about this tournament and it has ended already. Team Liquid has won against 1win and they're proclaimed as the Elite League Season 2 champions! Congratulations to Team Liquid, it's just too bad that my bets have been always opposite with you guys but you did great!

Heard some rumblings about League of Legends so is anyone placing bets on this esport lately?
Or it is all about DOTA2 now during this time of the summer?
I'd probably stick to dota 2 and some CS2 games I guess.

So will Nigma with their progression be in time for The Internationals coming up in a months time?
It would be very sad if a team puts in so much effort into improving their game-play and not making it into a major tournament just because they hadn't made enough points during the season to make it in.
Sadly, no TI for Nigma Galaxy, they already failed in the WEU regional qualifiers last June and only reached the second round of the lower bracket before getting eliminated.

Even if they're not in one of the biggest tournaments, we could still see them compete again in a minor tournament like the upcomingFissure Universe 3(Play-In), if they get invited.

I've placed a few bets recently, but my record is a disaster thanks to a few dominant teams that suddenly underperformed this Summer Split like T1 and JDG.

Why not wait until these rather large tournaments are over then decide to apply them?
They are affecting those team's strategic game-play they had been practicing prior to the patches.

Some would argue that this is the beauty of dota2 esport because teams have to adapt as soon as the patches are dropped but for me I guess the reason is because Valve is not really affiliated on those tournaments. In some sense, those are 3rd party tournaments though so Valve probably wouldnt even bother to drop it according to their schedule. I bet they most likely wouldnt do so in their own affiliated tournament like TI, DreamLeague and ESL

Im just dropping this here

This was the last notable Nigma's achievement which was two years ago. Ever since that day, everything just went south and I have never recalled that they ever get decent amount of prizes from tournament but they are currently top 3 in Clavision Snow Ruyi for atleast $62k even if they lose against Team Spirit tomorrow

This is quite a huge achievement for the last two years

If I have bet for Execration again versus OG, I've won but then I've skipped and instead bet for these two matches. I've lost these two bets. Team Liquid lost against 1win. Nouns lost against Boom Esports. Now, there's three teams left, this is now a semi finals and 1win is waiting for the finals. 1 hour before semi finals starts, Team Liquid versus Boom Esports.

It only took one unfortunate turn of events and a few stand-ins to unleash their potential. Cheesy

The momentum is on their side heading to their series against Team Spirit, and I agree it's already impressive when the other teams they fought to make it here are no slouches either.

Exactly, when DPC was still around, they used to drop it after the major tournaments, but now that the tournament's out of their hands there's no need to wait.

True! I can't remember the last time I saw Nigma having fun while playing Dota 2 and it was a great run from them at Snow Ruyi and hopefully Kuroky will stay out for a while and let this Nigma grow with him as a general manager or just an assistant.

Currently , we have the final between Spirit vs Xtreme with 2-1 being in favor of Xtreme but 4th map is very one sided and normally Xtreme should become the fresh champions of Snow Ruyi and conquer the trophy. For Spirit , what can we say ? this meta really doesn't suit them and I'm a bit surprised they managed to go all the way until the final.  Grin

^^ mentioned in above posts
Seems that those dota2 patches prove to be more harm than good towards the teams playing.
Even if they were supposedly applied pre-match to improve gameplay.

I don't know what's up with Valve as they've dropped the new patch and update during these tournaments. Usually they drop these updates after main tournaments but it's different this time.

Going on with the Elite League. I have bet for Execration against Shopify Rebellion as the series winner. I just can't resist the odds made by stake on their last map. If I lose, I lose with them.

As for this match, I was able to catch up and the game was already in the midst of it and Execration was about to lose having their bottom barracks and mid were destroyed already but good thing a clash in the bottom lane gave them that comeback momentum. And here are the other bets that I've made for this Elite League Season 2. I'm still thinking if I'd bet for Execration against OG because they'll have a match again later but they're probably exhausted with their match against SR.

LGD Gaming lost against Team Spirit.
LGD was good at building early leads against Team Spirit yesterday, they did it twice in a row, but they couldn't convert it to anything since they struggled in the mid to late team fights.

I've noticed they're still picking the same heroes most of the time, but at least we get to see an unusual Muerta carry from Team Spirit over the stable carry picks like Troll and Ursa.
They have been used to that strategy and I guess that they'll learn from this mistake.

So Nigma vs G2.IG tomorrow. Nigma lost against them on group stage but it should be over 2.5 maps again
We'll probably see the same script again as Nigma now won the first map one-sidedly.  Tongue
