Tomorrow we have the opening of Ryhad masters and I've been waiting for this one for a while now and personally I expect a full crowd tomorrow because last time , we barely had 100 people into the arena which is sad because we have tier 1 teams competing for tier 1 prizes.

For predictions ...I think it's now or never for Liquid to win a major in this format and have full confidence going into TI but if GG wins again ...a lot of teams of dota 2 should just retire because it's clearly that they are not playing the same game like GG does.  Grin

Riyadh Masters 2023 is about to start in 2 days. It is one of the highest prize pools for e-sports this year so earning a spot is hard.
What I've got in mind is that someday that if Riyadh masters or Saudi Arabia keeps on developing their country as an e-sports hub. Someday the tournaments that will be held there could even surpass the prize pooling for the grandest TI.

But for now, this is actually a good tournament and with all seriousness from the participating teams prior to their participation in the TI12.

Good luck to all of the teams and I hope that most of the bettors this time will be having a great dinner with their bets.  Tongue

This year's prize pool is almost the same as last year's TI prize pool. The TI prize pool was low last year compared to the year before can be attributed to the bad Battle Pass. If Valve will release a better battle pass and does not split it like last year, TI may return to the sub-40 million prize pool. It will be hard for Riyadh to match that.

Anyway, 15 million is already a large pot for e-sports. Not so many e-sports have that much of a prize pot.
Valve does have their own way of thinking of how it's going to be shared to the teams and with this upcoming TI. We all know that everybody shares the help through the Battle pass sales but since they don't have it this year, I guess that we probably have seen the peak of it.

And sooner or later when the prize pool for the TI drops, it's going to be that most players and teams will be preparing more to get qualified in Riyadh masters if ever this happens again.

It will be interesting to see which team will be in the top 2 spots of Group B. Unless there is a major upset, I am predicting most of group B will qualify for the Group stage of Riyadh Masters.
I have the same expectation for Group B maybe except for Xtreme Gaming. They're the only questionable team in their group since this is their first time playing against the other regions.

Also, I saw the new esports promotion called GG Weekly, it's more of a wagering contest mainly for esports so we'll probably see the big players take the top spots right away but i'll try my best to reach the top 50 at the end of the week.  Wink

Below is the schedule for the Play-In Tournament.
It looks like Team Liquid got the best schedule atm as they'll be facing every team that hasn't found success in the previous majors and then will face Team Aster on the last day.

Well, they belong to the easier group. I think they will dominate this group again and move on to the Group stage. I see Group B having a harder time with their matches. Secret, OG, 9Pandas, and Quests grouped together. It will be interesting to see which team will be in the top 2 spots of Group B. Unless there is a major upset, I am predicting most of group B will qualify for the Group stage of Riyadh Masters.

I'm thinking this because if a dead game like Overwatch 2 has betting support , why wouldn't apex be there ? the player base is way more big in Apex than Overwatch.  Cool
The only thing missing is support from the odds providers so that bookies could start offering odds for Apex Legends and I think I could get into betting Apex Legends as i've had fun watching the ALGS recently.  Wink

ATF is out for the Quest Esports in this upcoming Riyadh Masters. It's not because of any attitude issue like what people are thinking about it. It's about that Quest and Nigma didn't agree with the terms that they got as ATF was just a loan back then.
Read the news: Quest Esports Parts Ways With ATF Due to Contractual Issues

It is bad to lose ATF this close to the play-in tournament for Riyadh Masters. But I think they will be good if they are looking for Reso or Tobi to replace him. They have time to get comfortable with the other members of the team. As for TI, I think it is best for them to replace ATF. He is good but his hero pool is quite limited. That is the issue for them in the Bali Major. Since ATF has a limited hero pool, the other team can easily predict their drafting patterns.

Riyadh Masters 2023 is about to start in 2 days. It is one of the highest prize pools for e-sports this year so earning a spot is hard. And I expected the play-in tournament will be as gruesome. Each team will be playing 4 matches on Day 1 of the Play-In Tournament.  Each match is BO2, so that means each team will be playing 8 maps on Day 1. That is quite a lot of games for a very short period of time. It will be mentally challenging for each team.

The rules for the Play-In Tournament is as follows:

What you guys thinks about Apex Legends making into Esports betting scene ? There is a big tournament on-going right now and I must say the hype on this game has always been there but I do want to see Apex making into betting scene because they do have a lot of important teams competing like TSM , NRG , Furia , Optic ETC so I think they have what it needs to making into betting. Also , you could bet on zones , legends , winner , top 10 and so on.

Also , the game in pro scene is very competitive and a single mistake can cost you a wipe of your time.

Have heard of Apex Legends and their mobile version which is cross-platform which can make for an interesting scene sort of like how Fortnite made it's road to success among everyone since who doesn't have a mobile phone.
There had been some recent news of a revamp of some of the workings in season 18 of this game:
https://www.pcgamesn.com/apex-legends/season-18-revenant-rework

But there had been some rumblings on reddit for a while of players distaste for it since it was released when there was warzone and since it is more of a battle royale feel to the game there was no comparisons there.

Isn't there a way to check the MMR or the leaderboards?
There's no other way aside from the screenshot because the leaderboards only show the position.
Okay, thanks. I thought that there's a way that it can be checked since there's a way to check every current game even just for the images and real time trackers.

There are also rumors that 7.34patch will drop just before the TI regional qualifiers begin so whatever strategies teams had before this patch , it just become irrelevant.
It's not a rumor, it's a fact. The one who's assigned in doing these updates have officially posted it on his Facebook and Twitter account. I don't know with his other socials but if you know Wykrhm Reddy then you can check it. He's icefrog.

It seems a patch has just been dropped and most OP heroes have been nerfed including Medusa.  There are also rumors that 7.34patch will drop just before the TI regional qualifiers begin so whatever strategies teams had before this patch , it just become irrelevant.

Complete list of heroes who got nerfed : Brood , Doom , Ember , Enchantress , Medusa , Morph (thank God for this ) , Pugna , Storm ( my favorite midlaner had a brief moment of success it seems Sad ) , Techies ( finally no more techies 1st pick ) , Timbersaw , Undying ( glad as Grab Ally was to big in important fights ).

The teams for the play-in stages are already revealed and group B might be the tougher group between the two as I see three to four teams that can potentially fight for top 2 and avoid the decider series.

Team Liquid will probably dominate in group A again when half of their group has some of the weaker teams like TSM, Execration, and Entity. Or they can play less seriously as the elimination only starts during the decider series.

Oh so true! I forgot about the "second TI of the year" where the prize is up to 15mil$. I was so sure we have no other major until TI but hey , Riyadh Master is something that every team wants to win just because of the prize pool and just because most of the teams will pull out their TI strategies.

I just saw that Secret will be there in the current format : Puppey , Armel , FBZ , Yamich , Heen.  Shocked
I saw their post as well and it's good that they're the ones who got the final spot after seeing them step up during the previous DreamLeague.

Quite the break until regional qualifiers eh ? No major in sight , no small tournaments...nothing. Just a mega silence who will slowly transfer to pressure with TI date getting closer and closer but I guess for now , most of the teams are taking a well deserve break to cool their minds.
There's still the Riyadh Masters scheduled 7 days from now and after that, there's the 3-week break before the TI regional qualifiers.

I doubt any team would take his service when this is one of the tournaments with the biggest prize pools this season and Qojqva is right he needs to show a screenshot at the minimum because no one will believe him when he already has a bad reputation for smurfing.

After the major now i'm hooked back to League and will probably continue to watch and bet until the Riyadh Masters. The EDG match is probably the only game I see worth taking today as i've heard they got Uzi on the roster and i'm only betting with small stakes because LPL is still an unpredictable league.

When it comes to Major then lots had been that criticizing on how cheap Bali Major is.
Now this upcoming Riyadh masters which does have that prize pool of $15,000,000 USD
on which it is really one of the biggest pool except on TI's.

It is really that shocking on how GG do able to dominate the recent majors on having that 3x major champion.
Dont know if they would really be able to snatch up the Aegis on this upcoming TI or they would really be choking like on what we do see on LGD.
Im bit that familiar or having that similarities wayback in Virtus Pro and secret dominating the majors but choke in TI.  Grin

Me too.
This is almost like a TI in prizing and that's why everyone's craving to win those top spots. We can see that most teams are full force, I haven't heard some of them but it's likely that all of them are complete rosters. I think qojqva is just on point so that he'll also take some attention if ever there will be other teams that are incomplete. So, he's just doing it also rightly with that strategy so that both of them will be noticed.

Makes sense since it is a new tournament so having it considered a tier 1 category tournament allows more lesser ranked teams be involved.
It just has a majors feel to it I would assume from the prize pool rewarded to the winning teams.
Still new to the DOTA2 scene so any insight on these tournaments are welcomed @batang_bitcoin

Thank you for the link to the TI Western European to show there are still slots left to fill.

Now we are focused on the biggest prize award for a DOTA2 majors ever beginning on the 19th ending on the 30th.
Here are some news on the event for the teams:
https://afkgaming.com/dota2/news/black-announces-115k-mmr-and-stand-in-services-for-riyadh-masters-2023-qojqva-expresses-doubts
Btw, Riyadh Masters isn't a dota 2 major but it's still a tier 1 tournament because of how huge the prize that's awaiting for the teams that will be part of it. Isn't there a way to check the MMR or the leaderboards? But anyway, that's not a big deal though, most teams are craving for the prize and I doubt that someone won't be able to play but we'll know soon if there have been some visa issues for some players. Btw, what's a mercenary status?

That's a good transition for Gabbi, I think that this contract is just going to be for the qualification of the TI in the Western Europe. Gabbi being a pos 1 before and now transitioned into a pos 3. That's not an easy one but he surely have his practiced and play a lot of games in the pub as a pos 3. Looking at the teams participating this qualifier is like hard to think of. But the good thing is that there are two slots on this region.
