Individual ratings, that Ax1le guy would surely be in the top spot even though C9 hasn't performed that well the past year. I think the system HLTV uses is fair enough for those players who performed so hard in order to get a win for their teams - or at least be placed in a pretty good ranking in the tournaments they have joined. I guess if you're really a good player, you should convert your performance somewhat to a win, otherwise you're still missing one thing that separates you from the greats of the league. M0nesy is still young, and I think he'll still get better with age. He already has the game sense and aim, he just needs to get better at making decisions that will put his team to a good position in all aspects of the game.
As you said, Ax1le took the 4th place. Now the first three announcements are left. The top three names are more or less clear, S1mple,Zywoo maybe sh1ro. I'm curious as to the order between them. For M0nesy, I think if he goes in the direction of his goal in the coming years, he will be Mvp many times, even the success he has achieved at this age is enough for now, I think. It will never be enough for his ambition, but he needs to leave time, as I said just give it the time, the MVP will become a star player.
1. s1mple
2. ZywOo
3. sh1ro
I'm surprised that both C9 players made it to the top 4 list. Ax1le has been included in 2021 top 20, and even did better this 2022 rankings even though they placed 3rd or 4th on average, with the exception of IEM Dallas win. Sh1ro is kinda up there but others might agree that he is a 'weak' MVP in comparison to others who are in the top 20 list. He farms kills effectively, but his overall performance when needed is not that flashy and highlight-reel worthy. But maybe his EVP and MVPs helped land him the top 3 player of 2022.
As for ZywOo and S1mple, it's pretty understandable why HLTV opted for S1mple. The guy has been consistent for years, and even though his team is not performing that well as of late, he still managed to post high ratings albeit being on the losing side for many tournaments.
