In part, I judge ETH's platform is more versatile than LTC, and I believe the leadership style of Burterin and the devs will help the ship the ETH on the right track and route to their development. That is also one of the reasons I set ETH as a priority in my portfolio.

I'm glad i stumble on these posts as they show that the future is the answer. Ethereum not going anywhere ?
We have seen that it has gotten somewhere and brought us the next generation blockchain(blockchain 3.0).

I look at possible usecases of a coin before investing and i haven't seen anything peculiar about LTC. No new technology, no new upgrade from its initail inception; LTC has just been stagnant. I just see LTC as a replica of bitcoin.

I prefer Ethereum for my long-term investment, Ethereum's quality has been tested and has been used by many companies in their projects so I think the future of Ethereum is brighter and more reliable.

Ethereum for long term holding. Ethereum is very stable, very manageable when it comes to holdings, most users prefer ETH for transacting because of lower fees. I think this is the only coin that definitely serves its purpose. So no need to fret that it will crash.

I would suggest Ethereum, because ICO usually only Ethereum and Bitcoin. And it seems for now that Ethereum is more popular than Litecoin. Not a guarantee to predict market prices, but it seems very reasonable if the more popular a coin, the more potential it will be in the future. Currently high bitcoin prices are not suitable for small investors especially for beginners. I think litecoin and ethereum be the right choice.

I like the idea of you splitting you intended amount into ethereum and litecoin as the are very good and stable coin. They both have good potentials when you hold the them on long term but when talking about stability and strength of a coin, i think ethereum has a more promising future than litecoin.

maybe there is an option to divide the volume between these two coins? they are both good in their own way and at the same time they have different goals and objectives.
They also have a very different capitalization.
ETH and LTC is same good for me.  And i guess its continue to getting better in the future .😊

For me, I am totally more inspired by ETH for long haul speculation or holding since it has an enduring improvement. At that point, I think the eventual fate of eth surpasses from other altcoin, its savvy contracts and propelled innovation are exceptionally powerful later on. I mean both ETH and LTC are great altcoins and promising for contribute, however ETH is better for long haul hold.

I have both of these coins in my portfolio. Because I believe that diversification minimizes losses and risks. In fact, both coins are good and promising.

for us ltc and eth is also good we hold in the long run, because now the price is also still cheap so we also will get more profit in future, by selling higher price.

I think the most worthy coin to be a long-term investment is ethereum, it is evident that the ethereum marketcap keeps improving and getting closer to bitcoin so that ethereum investment is the most appropriate thing than others.

Of course Ethereum... 90% of ICO's based on ethereum blockchain. LTC is just a fork of BTC

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

I used to work with Ethereum in terms of long-term holding. But t the same time I understand that Litecoin is also suitable for holding it during long time. At all it is possible to use any coin from top of market for long-term holding.

I would go for ethereum because it brings something new in to the mix while litecoin is just a pump and dump centralised coin controled by Charlie Lee.Also eth have way better future and some serious companies invloved in it(ethereum alliance)

Litecoin definitely has potential. Recently, a long-awaited update of SegWit was made, which was crucial for increasing the blocking capacity, reducing settlement time and reducing transaction processing costs
