I purchased a copy of ethOS and its a 16gb image on my Mac hard drive.

I have a spare 120Gb SSD. I have a spare rig for testing too. So ready to rock and roll.

How do you start getting the image into a bootable OS on the SSD?

Any step by step guide for me? All my rigs are on Win8.1...

thanks!

There are Ubuntu drivers existing: http://www.killernetworking.com/support/knowledge-base/17-linux
I asked at IRC channel and I was told that they consider to implement them in upcoming releases.

yeah, MSI can be a bit touchy wit its integrated drivers (mostly LAN)

oh my f** god.

ubuntu with an ethereum logo background.

Those Features. Boots and mines. Uhu. Cronjob, easy shit.

DAG file management. Ok, also cronjob, when there are more than 2 DAG files, remove the oldest one. Easy shit.

Remote pool management possible. Sammy's proxy will do that for you. Already exists. FREE!

Hostname defined by mac address. Cmon man?

This is all just to promote your gpushack website. Nothing more nothing less.

For those out there having issues with Ethereum mining on *nix based systems. Send me a pm, i'll help you "FOR FREE".

Been seeing a lot of you here lately Kotarius. No, everywhere. Every forum out there.
Every post/thread you make is purely commercial. Purely to advertise your gpushack website.

There's a separate area for that.

If you want to do something for the community. Release this for free, put some ads in there to your webshop or whatever. But don't charge people for something that can be done in 15minutes.

You come off like an asshole, just sayin.

i'm planning on getting a digital copy of the ethOS
i have a quick question though;
once i got the ethOS up and running do i need to download and sync the ~10GB ethereum blockchain or is that included in the 16GB ethOS download?

Got it, it is a driver problem. The board has a "Killer NIC" and these drivers are not included in ethOS.

I'd like to support ethos as well, do you also support getwork or only "stratum" ?

Getwork does work, you can disable stratum-proxy in settings and define your own pool.

But I have another problem with my new rig:
I have a MSI H170 M3 Gaming Mainboard, but I do not manage to get an IP with it.
It hangs on startup at "Starting configure virtual network devices", then shows "Waiting for network configuration..." and finally starts ethOS without IP (and of course does not start hashing). I think it is either a driver or a mainboard issue, so I would appreciate any idea which could help. I already tried to set a static IP, but this did not work also (no IP assigned).

Can you explain why I should replace my existing hard drive for mining, hence rendering my computer useless for normal tasks?

That thing is more for dedicated mining rig with 6 gpus and no case.

Here is an alternative: https://ethereum-mining.info/en/

And as it seems, free.

That's the way it should be!

Although i would be very careful with this.
