Thank you. Im sold.

One more thing can custom fan settings be used? This is most important to me

Yes everything is explained in the kb and the commented section in the conf. Here is an example from my own farm;

cor eb19aa 1100
mem eb19aa 1250
fan eb19aa 85
Config file with options avaiable can be viewed at: http://www.ethosdistro.com/pool.txt

Personally I find coinotron to be the best. So i want to stick with them.

Can you overclock the core and memory in ethos ?

This sounds like a great distro

Yes, you can overclock both, please see feature list here:  http://ethosdistro.com/

Thank you.

Can this be used for pool mining ? Eg coinotron that uses their own proxy..

Im intrested but I only pool mine wuth a few hundred hash

Yes, the default out of the box setup is ready to mine at ethpool (i personally recommend this as it has the most fair pay for your hashrate) and dwarfpool. Also good but personally i prefer Ethpool. http://ethpool.org/

You flash the OS on a HDD or SSD(highly recommended). USB may very well be too slow. Boot it, access the .conf, put your addy in there and done. Then you can tweak and OC etc. Its pretty easy to do.

Here's the KB:
http://ethosdistro.com/kb/

Digital purchase download link(with ref) to is in my sig; "gpuShack mining hardware". Calc and Freenode channel are there as useful ressources as well. Tongue

my question with ethos is whether drivers and such have to be downloaded prior to launching ethos? I mean buying your mobo pack and a few gpus do the drivers for both gpus and mobo need to be installed prior to launch. thanks!

No drivers need to be installed. ethOS is confirmed to work out of the box with any motherboard made 2011 and after (and probably many more motherboards), and the following GPUs:

Any 2GB+ HD 7000 series, any R9 200/300 series, including R9 390/390X/Fury/Nano

Hello,

Please let me know how can I change the memory speed for my r7 370 rigs.
It seems I'm able to modify only the core speed and the memory is working on the stock speed 1400. The globalmem command doesn't work in my case.

Thanx

Kotarius I have questions about your ethOS  Grin

1. So I just have to plug in your SSD in my mining rig and it starts to mine ?
2. no drivers needed ?
3. Can i install 'TeamViewer' in order to check my mining activity from my office ?
4. Do you use Ubuntu and then you added your custom software ?
5. Does your software support gpu undervolting ?
6. If we have a power cut does the mining starts again automatic ?
6. If the SSD fails-crash what am i doing ?
7. Do you sell just the ethOS with a download link and how much ?

I would like to buy your ethOS and support you but I need answers first.
thank you

Let me answer that for you.

1. No, or it will mine to his Eth address.
2. Every system is different, so yes you will need other drivers!
3. You can, but stupid idea,
4. He has no custom "software" nothing is "his" he just uses bits and pieces from here and there. There is nothing he wrote himself.
5. NO. He has no custom software, and linux does not support that, only windows (msi afterburner and so on)
6. That, i'm curious about myself. You will have to wait days if not weeks until you get a new one. (i think)
7. I don't think so because than we can all download it and it will get spread more easily and he will lose money. And that is the utter most important thing for him. MONEY.

Voila.

Hope that answers your questions.  Cool

5: linux under/overvolting gui = AMDOverdrivectrl, lots of other settings as well
still havent got it to work for multiple gpu yet tho, seems to only grab GPU0
and i didnt get it to work on my 290x cards only the 7950s
im also using linux with cinnamon tho and this environment has has much to be desired when using multiple gpus
or i just dont understand xrandr at all or i need to install one of the the other older SDKs

Will it work with MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard and 7x MSI Gaming 2G R9 270X GPUs?
https://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z87-GD65-GAMING.html#hero-specification

ethOS has been tested on that motherboard, and does work.

I'm seriously laughing my ass off.

First of all, i own 150 GPU's, so in your point of view, I AM the target market.

Second, those that bought a copy wlil soon realise that when the hype is over, you won't be there to support them.
Neither will there magical OS work with any other "new" coin. Well not out of the box. Than what?

The only thing you're thinking about is how much you can/are (going) make with this.

Greedyness. It's a filthy disease.

You know, I thought something was familiar. I know a lot of big miners. When you said you had 150 GPUs, I tried to find out who you are, thinking maybe I can buy GPUs from you.

Are you all the same person? (Heliox/Eliovp/ldw-com) http://imgur.com/a/ktl5U

Yup, I should show people some screenshots here of how you call me names on IRC.. So people could see how you really are.

Heliox = IRC
Eliovp = Here
ldw-com = work

Even if i had 200 other accounts. So?

Grow up.. big baby

I am perfectly fine with you using multiple accounts, although not sure why (do you perhaps forget your password every time you go to work?). The problem is when you use those accounts to shill for each other and pretend to be different users, as you have done here:

Funny how you keep trying to hurt/diss me..

I know the truth hurts. And that i have brought up countless of points where i clearly brought you down.

I have left this/you aside me, as i have better things to do.

But it seems that you don't. So if you want me to get some nice screenshots of you being a complete dickhead/little baby, saying things that i'm sure that you don't want me to put out there, well, keep acting like this and i'll do my best to create a nice post where i show people what kind of a person you are.
