I love the common sense of evolution, the cause and effect. The whole concept of how an environment affects the way an animal evolves. It works perfectly.

There was probably some kind of genetic aberration that bifurcated us off from our current path that resulted in a series of events that lead to bigger brains and opposable thumbs. Humans did not evolve from apes, gorillas or chimps. We are all modern species that have followed different evolutionary paths, though humans share a common ancestor with some primates, such as the African ape
However, that is just guesswork. There were many more species in the past. They have died off. Some of the fossils look like they might have been missing links. But they were simply different species. Fossils show that in the distant past there were 2 or 3 times as many species as are in existence today.
Consider this. Of all the animals and plants, there are really only a handful that are domesticated. Most animals and plants are wild. But what if they all were domesticated in the distant past. And something is causing most of them to become wild.
The point is, you could make a theory of devolution much easier than you could make a theory of evolution. And nobody would know for sure.

First of all we really still don't know where all life forms started. We still don't have enough evidence to prove all of these. Asking where the existence of monkey came from is like asking where humans came from.
