I cant believe how time flies, next month we already have new F1 starting and I guess Sportsbet prediction pool is going in package with that Smiley

Does anyone know when they removed Sergio Perez from the team, when they recently signed a new contract with him?
On team page for 2025 season I can see only Max Verstappen and young Liam Lawson.

By the way here is the calendar for the new season.

Normally we were starting with Bahrain and continuing with Saudi Arabia. However this time Melbourne is back there. It turns out the reason is the Ramadan which lasts from March 1 to March 29.

There are 24 races this season as well. It is going to be really entertaining for us. I would even like to watch more races but I don't know what FIA thinks about it. I can't wait to see Hamilton in red too.
Race schedule time is out.

F1 announces race start times for 2025 season

But this ain't the hype this week. Racers are raging because of the new FIA rule. The no-swearing rule. Are they going to put F1 on the Disney channel?
The penalties are: Full suspension or Point deductions. Banned if repeated.
Also, they cannot criticize FIA. Yeah, it's a dictatorship from now on.
Last time it was Verstappen who used the swear word and was penalized by community service. Then, Leclerc also did it and was fined 10k euros.
This could affect outright bets if one mistake is made by a racer especially if he really doesn't mean it but it just came out.
March can't come any sooner for us who are F1 fans and see the new season begin.
Thanks for the reminder and the countdown now starts for that first day that these new drivers and some old make contact with the pavement in Australia once again!

The merits I've given you were for the laughs  Cheesy Cheesy

I said it in this thread a while ago, can't wait for the Ferrari team and Hamilton to try to figure things out, be ready for the popcorn cause this will be worse than some Middle East negotiations.

Well, there may some fun also at RedBull if the car will be even worse.
I'm also very curious how will Kimi Antonelli do, whether he will be a threat to Russell and if so, how will Russell react.
Also, I expect some drama at McLaren too, with Oscar being a huge threat to Lando's dreams to become world champion.

They may not compare with what's expected at Ferrari, however, I totally agree about the popcorn  Cheesy Cheesy

Hamilton while test racing had his first crash in a Ferrari which was ofc course disappointing to him and his new team.

Shh, Hamilton fans are already saying that every time he has crashed his car he has either won a Grand Prix that year or the championship. Well, except for the years that he didn't but....

Quote
“Of course, if we go and look at the history, maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think so. When he got in the McLaren in Montmelo before [he debuted in] 2007 in which he won the championship [in 2008], he crashed during the tests.

This just shows how much more practicing he still has to do before the first race of the season so to be completely comfortable using his new F1 car.

What doesn't makes sense for me that there is two 1 month breaks in calendar without races. IMO, one old good summer break in August is enough.

Yes i agree with this, because all the chain of the sport is upgraded and now is not need to have this long breaks anymore in the way i see it. Also they can acomodate better the races to not be in a hurry from track to track.

A part of the team sitting in home can develop the new car and other can be upgrading the actual one, its so much money and persons involved right now.

Its incredible how we normalize the ammount of race in a year from a few years to now.

24 races is insane comapred when we had only more than 10. I celebrate this dont get me wrong.
It's been lot of years ago when we had a bit more than 10 races. In last 20-25 years we had something like 16-18 races. And yeah, compared to it, 24 races is very big number. I think that 24-25 races is optimal number. I love F1, but I don't want to dedicate too much my weekends to F1. Already now I often have to change my weekend plans because of F1.

It's for you. I mean for the fans and we are that.

It was actually a successful change. Their target was to increase the viewership and being in different places means more fans watching them, coming in, and having a glimpse of how F1 is.
I would be very happy to see one but I don't have the resources to go into even 1 race. I think my best chance would be to see it in Japan as it is the nearest country but it might cost a lot of money and my wife will kill me if I tell her I spend it to watch a live race. Cheesy

Anyway, the 75th anniversary is near and I still don't see the lineup of the guest stars that will perform. Maybe they will reveal it in February.

Melbourne used to be season opener for so many years, only few recent seasons started in Bahrain. If world would be perfect season always would begin in Melbourne and end in Sao Paulo. Well, it looks that few first round will be in extremely early time for us in Europe.
And we already saw him in in when he arrived to Maranello and tried Ferrari car. It's strange to see him in red, but I think it fits for him. BTW, it was also strange to see him wearing classic black suit and coat when usually before GP we see him wearing all these weird designer clothes.

Don't you remember him in his days with McLaren?
This is how I remember when I first seen him driving as a professional F1 racer:

Ah that is why they are starting in Australia instead of the middle eastern regions. Having it return to Melbourne is a treat for the fans there who were missing F1 in their lives.

^Nice. Thank you for that.

Launch on February 18, London. That's near. It is their first time ever doing this event and it's all for the Formula 1 fans and their 75th anniversary. 10 teams will be there and this is a big one as they are also in their uniforms (maybe new) during that event.
And it's not over with that, there will also be guest entertainment stars so it will be like a concert or like the Super Bowl but in their part, it's the opening and not the championship. Cheesy

I am trying to find who the guest stars will be but I cannot find it. Perhaps, they are not revealing it yet.

Well i really have my serious doubt about Mercedes with Kimi Antonelli, i think they took a very big risk, Russel is a super driver but he still dont show the proper performance, and Hamilton is no more to safe him and the team, lets see if Kimi Antonelli is as good as predicted, i trust on Wollf eye but.....

And yet Russell got more points than Hamilton, so.... Cheesy
But I will agree that he is a bit too young for this, and even if Mercedes is no longer the super team that it was once, he could have benefited from racing in a weaker team with less pressure for a season.

I was a big fan of Russel in the past, but after a few years on Mercedes i dont see anymore his super skills, he still comiting a few mistakes or maybe is better to say rookie mistakes, that are throwing away his chances of something biffer, i can remember easily 3 races where he made bad silly moves.

I hope to see him improving and correct this mistakes.

Ickx. Prost. Mansell. Sainz
Carlos Sainz will become just the fourth driver in history to race for each of F1's traditional 'big three' and he's in esteemed company

Even his uniform is not yet ready on the F1 page.  Cheesy Oh, and Hamilton too.

https://www.formula1.com/en/drivers/carlos-sainz

Not everyone will like the changes and some even say that the combo of Sainz and Leclerc was the best one or better one. But some are happy that Lewis Hamilton will be the one handling Ferrari now and he will be welcomed. His debut will be in February but he will come out and take part in a test at Fiorano Circuit according to a leak.

Hamilton right now has no edge over Russell and even in the last seasons when Mercedes still dominated, he was winning more because he was the first pilot not because there was a difference between him and Bottas like between Max and Perez.

I completely agree with you on this.

Let's see how he runs with Ferrari, can't wait to grab a truckload of popcorn to see his anger issues collide with the Ferrari team that has been on a screw-up rampage lately, it will be first-class drama.

I'm with you on this one too  Grin
But Formula1 is about drama and show, I think that nobody will complain much (well, except maybe the team if he will wreck too many cars and lose too many points).
I've read somewhere that "lately" Ferrari was the cemetery of the great (I know, and I agree, it's debatable) pilots. I myself am somewhat sad/angry that Seb went on that route too.

Well, let's be honest: Russell had his time at Williams (2 seasons, I think?), he got the proper taste of Formula1 before getting to Mercedes.
And even after getting to Mercedes, in the first season Lewis has crashed him.. a bit too much  Grin

I will die on this hill and no matter what I will still say Hamilton right now has no edge over Russell and even in the last seasons when Mercedes still dominated, he was winning more because he was the first pilot not because there was a difference between him and Bottas like between Max and Perez.

Shoot themselves in the foot? Hell no. They won't be putting these regulations in place if they want to do this.

Yeah, that's the thing, they do this more for the $ and then for the show and drama and only in the third place for the actual sport!
But well, this is the best we can get at the moment!
