However... I believe that 2022 is more for Ferrari, maybe Hammilton's dream has to be postponed.

It is not too late for Mercedes if they can fix their porposing they will be back and maybe the best team of the year again.

They have a lot of problems caused by it and if they can fix them they will be a lot faster.

The simulation was "Mercedes 1 second ahead of everyone else".

Ayrton Senna was certainly a great racer.  Many F1 fans consider him the best driver in the history of these races.  And his death on the track has become literally a legend.
And now I consider Hamilton also almost an F1 legend for his many victories and excellent results.  And he has not finished his career yet, he can still surprise the fans.

They were very different times.... good drivers always appear in F1 and I'm sure many will also speak well of Schumacher and he was certainly a good driver.

Airton Senna was a person who "played" on the track, he had full control of the car, he was an excellent driver.

We can't say less about Hammilton, he is also very close to becoming an F1 legend and the technology he found in Mercedes has certainly helped him in this mission... good drivers don't consecrate themselves just for their talent.

However... I believe that 2022 is more for Ferrari, maybe Hammilton's dream has to be postponed.

I would like to be wrong, but it seems to me that we are talking about "fine" settings that will give some benefit but will not fundamentally change anything. At the moment Mercedes are playing a league lower than the leaders but it is still too early to accept the fact that this season they will not be fighting for the first place. Therefore, for some time we will hear such optimistic news.
It's mercedes we are talking about and they could change something at any moment. I can't really guarantee anything and it looks like they could be doing something much bigger than we expected of them to do. Rear wing would just give them a slight advantage versus previous weeks, but the proposing or whatever that is called is still a trouble for them.

The thing is, they have the engine turned down, dialed down just s other wouldn't have this problem, if they could find a way to fix it? Boy oh boy, they could turn the engine all the way up and they would be doing much much better. That's when you know you are in trouble if you are Ferrari or red bull. Not like they will be missing that forever, if other teams found it out somehow, Mercedes could find it as well, maybe it will take one more, maybe 3 more but one day they will figure that out for sure.

Mercedes claims to have seen problems due to rear wing settings.  Therefore, they are preparing some changes in the design of the wing for the races in Melbourne and competitions at the next stages.  They solve the problem of optimizing downforce for better wheel grip.  But the track coverage can be quite different.  So it is not known how they will succeed or not succeed.Huh

Yes and a strange fact its, for the most of the people the GOAT are Fangio, Senna, Schumacher and now we can added Hamilton.

The interesting thing its only one of the fourth its a Ferrari symbol (Schumacher), i say this because if we say F1 we say Ferrari, but two of the 4 are Mercedes boys (Fangio and Hamilton) or Mclaren (Senna).

I know Fangio win with Ferrari but he its always a Mercedes related person(here in  Argentina he was the president of the Mercedes company).

In actual Formula 1 its for me, 75/80% car 25/20% driver. And this went from the ninety.

For that Fangio its the GOAT for all the history, when he drives are, 40% car and 60% driver.

After saying this Hamilton its one of the best drivers in history, nobody can deny that, his rookie season its amazing.

For me the best driver of the new generation are: Leclerc Russel and Norris. And yes i dont put MV for me its an excelent driver but dont have the mature

So even Senna was not a so good driver since at the time of Senna-Prost the McLarens were 1/1.5 sec for lap faster than the other cars.

This is always been F1, the best cast often will have one of the best drivers. Always happened.

Yes, Ayrton Senna is one of the legendary drivers of F1 and died in a fatal crash at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix while leading the race, and I have a poster of him that I hung in my bedroom when I was a teenager.
and he is known as one of the qualifying specialist drivers, Hamilton is a professional racer and has the most world titles and is confirmed to be a legend driver because of his extraordinary career.

Some highlights of what some of the F1 cars have behind their new looks during the season opener:
.......
Of course, the partnership with Qualcomm is interesting.
However, I don't quite understand how F1 racing can promote these high tech processors and other chips from this glorious company???
Do they have a lot of extra money???
At the same time, the entire world of automakers is suffering from a shortage of chips. Smiley

Never been a real follower, but couldn't have avoided Schumacher in my time, but I recently understood as well how important this seems to be the case now, and why some drivers (hint hint) never wanted to leave for a better challenge, knowing they'd immediately inherit slightly less incredible machines.

And I hope I don't step on toes but that's also what's happening to Lewie now isn't it? Now that Mercedes isn't doing so great, neither is he. Anyone think this is temporary or a blip?

Again, my Schumacher lore is suspect but he once said something about driving in the best car that winning is the only option anything else is losing.

I really think Mercedes improving its turning the corner.
We dont see so many progress in Arabia because it was only one week between the first and the second race, so i dont know if the workers in United Kingdom send upgrades to the part of the team deployed.

I dont know if in Australia we can see some improvement for the same i think they keep collecting data. But for the next GP after Australia i see a big improvement, dont know if can be to win a race but surely to cut the gap.
I am 100% sure that Mercedes will find a way to get better, but how long will it take? Both Mercedes and Mclaren are doing bad right now with basically the same engine, Williams is not even a discussion right now. This shows that engine could probably be one of the problems.

I got that proposing or whatever that jumping up and down and losing downforce thing is called was the main reason people claimed why Mercedes is doing worse, but by the looks of it engine is not great neither with the car. Hopefully they will find a way to get better and try to be closer to Ferrari and red bull to make it a fun season, if not then at least I hope some other team goes to that third spot and give it all.

They said "its not a engine related problem, its more a drag problem in the top speed".

But for me Mercedes was in a way more conservative for the Engine.
Lets me explain this. Mercedes in his innovative design dont have the same air flow of other to refresh his engine, so for me they are capping the engine like 5%.

They have this handicap but in his favour they are testing and in the next race for me they come with full power after know they cant have reliatibiti issues (Like Red Bull have in the first race).

Before i said i dont know when they can improve, for me if not in australia, can be in Imola when the team in UK can deploy new parts with all the data collect.
If this pass , i think in round 6 or 7 Mercedes can fight for a win, If not i think they can be struggling all the season.

I think that it is incorrect to compare the achievements of athletes of the past with the current state of affairs. Now the competition is much higher than before in all sports and I am sure that any of the best football players, hockey players, basketball players, etc. past in modern conditions will be no stronger than the average athlete.
As far as the importance of the car, I think there is some limit (I don't know exactly where it is) where craftsmanship doesn't matter at all. Comparing the skill of drivers is possible only when the cars are at about the same level and allow real competition to happen.

Interestingly Hamilton had the audacity to say "I am doing the maximum I can do out there, I am not sure about the team" or something like that. All the fanbase hatred aside, Russell seems to be doing fine, he is constantly right behind those 4 drivers

Imho this kinda tells in the past years, with sooo many victories, how much it was the merit of the car and how much it was the driver.
(Although Russell did show that already when Hamilton had COVID).

Leclerc deserved the victory but a safety car first and a Yellow flag later during his overtake attempt denied him the 1st position.

Let's hope these cars will improve at the same paste, it will be an awesome year, waiting for the Mercedes.
Saw the Tweets about it come out just as I posted that yesterday, yeah... And then the 2 yellows late on but investigations very quickly cleared anyone of wrongdoing.

But probably better than anything else, the guy didn't even complain a single bit -- absolutely racking up my opinion of him.

(I'm still crossing fingers for a surprise podium finish from AT but the way the first 2 races are going, think Ferrari will flex all the way). Australian magic?
Lol, I love the shade at Hamilton (hopefully I got it right) with complaining. Interestingly Hamilton had the audacity to say "I am doing the maximum I can do out there, I am not sure about the team" or something like that. All the fanbase hatred aside, Russell seems to be doing fine, he is constantly right behind those 4 drivers, and I believe that he will keep on racking points every week hoping that Ferrari and red bull keep on fighting and taking each other out time to time.

If there are enough retired races from both teams, George could find himself a fourth or even a third position this year, depending on the reliability of other teams of course. And this is considering how the teams are right now, if Mercedes gets better, then he definitely has a chance.
