I really dislike all this political in sports.

As long as a country's flag is there, world politics are involved, in a way or another.

There were already cases (they may have been related to doping though) the sportsmen were allowed, but without representing the country. Maybe this should be done more wider: we're all human, why represent one country or another? (Imho all countries should unify - but not through war, obviously - and ruled by individuals employed for the job based on actual skills.)

Didn't realize Haas F1 team owner was an Oligarch although I knew they had a Russian owner.

Is it the owner or "just" the main sponsor?
BTW, in the F1 world where everybody wants to become a driver, I don't know what's going to happen with Nikita Mazepin.
I've read "rumors" that he may get banned from F1, and obviously there's no shortage of possible replacements.

Did you read about Bernie Ecclestone latest interview defending Putin?!

Just read the news about him wanting the race to be cancelled which would be scheduled for September 25th in Sochi.
https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12550320/sebastian-vettel-former-f1-world-champion-says-he-will-not-race-at-2022-russian-gp-amid-ukraine-invasion

https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/60508391

I don't blame him if he wanting to boycott and I think the other drivers would probably do the same once they talk to their own camps and their feel of safety in a country that is a currently in a war.
Quite disturbing situation and should not be part of the racing atmosphere at all.

It also seems to me a good argument not to race in Sochi. I think it's for two reasons, a sort of boycott by him against what Putin is doing with Russia right now, but also because it could just be very dangerous there. The situation with Russia can escalate quite quickly and in principle you are not safe anywhere in Russia. F1 is wise to remove Sochi from the calendar for safety reasons.
This is what I think as well, while some people may decide to not race out of principle I think the main reason would be the security of the pilots, their crews and the public in general, after all if Ukraine is annexed by Russia then it is obvious there are going to be freedom fighters that will not accept this and they may try to damage the current government by attacking civilians, and a public event like this could be a target for them, so it is better to avoid racing there for the time being.

I really dislike all this political in sports.
You cant deny the acces only for be from one country or another, also if he likes Putin and more.
All the century XXI its about "ohhhh nobody has the true all the opinions are valid" but in the end its like ever.
One can be a devil or a god if the media and the power choose.
And yes i know this its a Unpopular opinion.
But enver in history was made a "boicot" like this in all the sports. Also the URSS was capable of join the world cup for example.
And im not Russian.

Seems that Clarkson said something offensive (like usual Embarrassed) to upset the driver when he did an interview with him recently.

Well, as always, Mercedes on the last day of preseason showed again what it is for, stepped on the accelerator and placed first.
Redbull again behind them.
I think Ferrari has a lot more to give and this time they saved a bit.
The other teams will see how they develop in the season.
The Haas thing giving only 9 laps in the last one is incredible, they couldn't even take data.

The times are not so good for all of them.

I mean the prediction was to have cars only 1 second slower than the 2021 cars but at the moment they were 3 seconds slower.

Keep also in mind teams are not using their final car yet, they are saving their secret, the more visible secret until the end, until the next session of tests.

Oh, alas, this is one of the unpleasant consequences of a military operation- Sad

Well Seb its full "progresive" or i dont know how you say to this class of guys who fully support all this new waves like BLM, etc.
So its logical to see he support this and be the first in doing it.
I thing its not a big change if we lose the Russian GP also its very boring to see that race.

Seb was the first mover in relation with the new war:

Vettel will boycott Russian GP: “It’s wrong to race in that country”

Sebastian Vettel has challenged Formula 1 bosses not to go ahead with this year’s Russian Grand Prix, saying he will not take part in the race following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

For myself, my own opinion is I should not go, I will not go. I think it’s wrong to race in that country. I’m sorry for the innocent people that are losing their lives, getting killed for stupid reasons. A very, very strange and mad leadership.

Some of the other drivers were asked too, but they didn't really point out a clear stance of their own.

It is an impressive look to the car, yes. But as NeuroticFish had mentioned already the look of the car(it's nice new color design) doesn't really matter much.
The car is really beautiful, and I think the color does matter, yes....
If you see a blood red car approaching in your rearview mirror, are you going to tell me that you wouldn't be more scared than if it were white?

Jokes aside, I hope that Ferrari has made good investments to improve the performance of its cars and that it can shine on the tracks again. because how good it was to see these little reds in the lead at the time of schumacher.
Seems that most of the top tier teams had released their car designs a few days ago.
Mercedes, McLarens, Aston Martin, Williams and of course Red bull.
Here is the one from R.B but it starts at the 16:36 minute:

Do you see the new Ferrari? I really like this new F1 car made for Ferrari, The only thing i have to note its was when the pilots say any like-
"Yes, its beautifull and we hope fast in the race". But they said this like no much hope, or may or may they are oculting some

Anyways. i think Ferrari this year its back on top 3 and can fight for race wins.
Noticed this video the other day while looking for more content about the upcoming netflix series and this happened to show up:

We can't say it until we see how well the new machine performs. Every year, Ferrari and other teams are saying that their cars are better than ever, only to show lackluster performances even on qualifying rounds. Ferrari is, no doubt, one of the top performing cars in F1 with the right driver, but it still lags behind Mercedes and Red Bull, and most recently, behind McLaren and Alpine albeit being one of the top 3 just the past few years. We'll see it when we see it, and right now I'm not confident that Ferrari can comfortably take top 3 right now.

With so drastic changes anybody can get on any places. The fact you like Ferrari more or whether the car's colors are better doesn't matter much.
We will have to see them compete for a couple of races to know. We will have to see which ones will be this year both fast and reliable.

I would actually prefer that at least in the first 5-6 races the winner will be from different team every single race. That would mean that gap between the cars is small and there will be real competition.

All thats happened during the season and especially for the championship race makes for good material towards the next Drive to Survive series on Netflix.

If you haven't watched it yet I recommend you do so to catch up on the past three seasons of the documentary in the world of F1 and it's drivers.
https://www.engadget.com/recommended-reading-netflix-formula-1-drive-to-survive-150045531.html
It turned me into an instant fan only after watching the first season.
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2021/dec/17/netflixs-drive-to-survive-americans-f1-fans

Season 4 will have all the drama, excitement and also the controversy to make it the best one yet.
Looks like they will have the start of the fourth season next month.
Usually it is debuted around this time near the middle or end of February. But I guess they had some more material to put into it for later in the racing season.
https://f1i.com/news/432078-netflix-reveals-release-date-for-drive-to-survive-season-4.html

Get ready for March 11th for the first episode.

Good good information, but i think this is pure comercial shit, why this did not go outside before? Ohhh yes its more dust to the MV and RB steal, and i want Max Verstappen to beat Lewis. But this was clearly a steal in the last lap.
And why i said its commercial shit? because ohhhh casualty its the becoming of the season. They save this audio to made this.
The new company media who own the rights say years before they are going to put a lot of show, and yes this made a ton of dollars and spectators but this its going outside the box.

Please dont misunderstand me, i really like the last season was amazing and we hope the becoming with the new regulations keeps going like this but please dont break the rules to do that.
It was the driving director who's audio messages came out in the past couple of days and yes it does seem like just steam.
And just to remind you he is the one who makes the rules during the race because it seems that FIA standards were not upheld in the race of Abu Dhabi that day.
