Wow! What a master piece! I must say I'm very impressed with the concept of this car but is it build for roads or racing ? because how it looks , it can be both right ?  Grin Grin T

It's not street-legal anywhere, you're going to drive it only on tracks, RB offers a customized plan for each to move your car from place to place.
They also said they might allow users to convert it to make it street-legal but that it's just a maybe.

3. Ferrari’s chance to hit back
4. Sergio Perez under pressure

Those two are starting to get clear, Ferrari botched the revolution with its new improvements, this is one thing the bookies got perfectly, as for Perez, unless he by a miracle manages to get more points in the next few races than Max , he's out, he got fewer points in 6 races than in his first one!

Oh I see. I thought that maybe Japan will actually permit to see that car on streets but it was no build for public roads and it's understandable.

Ferrari really screwed their car in the last 4 races and it seems that Charles is the one who is doing all the "dirty" work because we can clearly see that Sainz car is doing a bit better than his so no wonder why Charles cannot fight for podiums for now. Perez has an awful season and I don't see anything changing for the rest of the season but he should be focused 100% and try to score points or McLaren will snatch the construction championship.  Grin

Have you guys read this article? It's a nice long read.

IT'S RACE WEEK: 5 storylines we're excited about ahead of the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/its-race-week-5-storylines-were-excited-about-ahead-of-the-2024-hungarian.cpswLC66nOMksAwLLtZWX
It talks about these stories.
1. Are Mercedes back?
2. McLaren’s search for the missing ingredient
3. Ferrari’s chance to hit back
4. Sergio Perez under pressure
5. Driver market movement

I am more intrigued by the fourth and last part which is about Perez and driver market movement.
Quote
If Perez continues to struggle then he could become a factor in potential movement in the driver market over the summer break, despite signing a new contract earlier this season.

Elsewhere, though, there are known vacancies that still need to be filled for 2025, including at Mercedes, RB, Haas, Alpine, Sauber and Williams. With one seat at each of those teams available, we’re heading into two weeks where multiple meetings often take place and deals can be agreed or finalised.
The Perez "struggle" has been discussed here many times and I even read one news article in which the former Haas F1 team boss Guenther Steiner said that there's a high chance the Redbull star can leave if he won't improve his performance.
Perez's results in the upcoming Hungarian and Belgian races will probably be the climax of this decision.

Lastly as for the Perez topic... Red Bull must be out of patience. Verstappen won't be happy with the decision maybe but they must part ways with him. Red Bull can lose the constructors championship this season for real.

Anyway, Hungarian GP is up next.  Wink

Right after the exciting football weeks, this weekend continues with the Hungarian Grand Prix, Perez is now under pressure and apparently also has an exit clause that RedBull could pull, if Perez does not improve and score points, he could now be replaced during the season, Verstappen alone will not be able to win the constructors' championship.

Red Bull RB17 hypercar makes world debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Red Bull have presented their long-awaited hypercar – the Adrian Newey-designed RB17 – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, with team chiefs and drivers on hand to mark the occasion.
Revealed in the popular festival’s Cathedral Paddock on Friday morning, the RB17 will be on display for the duration of the weekend, giving fans an exclusive first chance to admire it.

1000 BHP. Wow! Shocked 350 km/h and 15,000 rpm
Beautiful is not enough to describe it.
https://x.com/redbullracing/status/1811686949167714759

The price is somewhere around 7 million euros. Yes, we cannot afford it. Grin Just kidding.
It took years for Adrian Newey to work on the car and it was said that there was no restraint on what he wanted to do. There will only be 50 units that will be sold and I bet some of them are already reserved.

What a car though!  Grin  I didn't know that RB17 was going to be a car like this. I mean the specs of it. 1000 HP with a V10 engine? It is just an incredible design.  Smiley

I wonder whether V12 would also fit this car. I like it more for this kind of hypercars. However V10 has a special place in my heart thanks to Lamborghini's beauties powered with V10 engines.

Then Adrian Newey's work has ended with Red Bull? Because he was expected to work on RB17 until it was finished even if he left Red Bull. So I guess this is the end for the work relations between both sides.

I think Newey should be very proud of this car and of his work because building a car concept over several years clearly says he put his soul in this car to actually be unique in every detail. Cool

Another non-score for Perez at the British Grand Prix means he has brought home just 15 points in the last six races since the Miami Grand Prix – with team-mate Max Verstappen having contributed 119 in that same period.
He will probably be hurt if you say this to his face.
Redbull's patience seems to be near the end line and Perez would need to deliver some good results the next time he races.
Why?
Quote
And matters are now close to a critical point with it understood that, despite Perez having a contract in place for next year, he could still be dropped – potentially as early as the summer break – if things do not change.
This contract for Perez seemed to just be a place holder for his seat as there was an option available in there by the team to replace him at their full discretion according to this article i saw published about his current situation earlier today:

It was a really great win by Hamilton though.  Grin  I wasn't expecting such result from the beginning and almost all people must be thinking the same. Mercedes can be really unpredictable with the pace during a race. But this time it was impressive!

I'm sorry about Russell, he is really unlucky...  Sad  A water system failure isn't a very common thing to see normally. Leclerc had the same issue too once. Can't they let the driver to finish the race anyway? I mean if he can do it of course. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like there was an example of this before.

Yes it is really strange how contracts seem to work in F1 as you think they are binding but there are the small print within these clauses you had pointed out in your response on the thread.
Anyone can be dropped at anytime and even in the middle of the season as we are hearing rumblings about Logan Sargent and of course Pierre Gasly.
Here is the short list of which drivers have a contract put in place and those who are on the edge of being off for an extended holiday from their team:
https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/single-seaters/f1/2025-f1-driver-line-ups-latest-contract-news-and-rumours

Now on to some happier news.
During the British Grand Prix last weekend they showed the very first glimpses of the new F1 film being made with Brad Pitt:
"We've got to get you a cameo!" | Brad Pitt reveals all about APXGP with Martin Brundle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOjC5l3cYug

Also a look from The Race youtube channel on the production since 2021 from 5 different races & tracks during that time filming to make the action scenes so not to rely completely on CGI effects:
Secret details of F1's new Brad Pitt movie explained - The Race

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcCIhwrf2ZE

It is being filmed in IMAX the way a film like this with the high speed action scenes should be filmed and shown on the big screen plus they designed a brand new pit garage for both of their fictional teams during the British Grand Prix and they look as if they're from real F1 racing teams.
A really good teaser to watch while we are all waiting for the next race to begin on the 19th.

Excellent assumption Koal-84!
The Dutchman was fifth in this latest session and qualifying is up next!
My prediction wasn't that good after all, I didn't expect the two Mercedes either in qualifying or in the race. In my opinion, McLaren is somewhat to blame that Norris wasn't ahead of Hamilton, the pit stop wasn't very good and the tactics should have seen them come out of the pits ahead of Hamilton, Mercedes and Verstappen got the best out of it, I would say.
Can you believe Mercedes are back in on points and are looking better than both Ferrari and McLaren all the sudden with winning the last two races back to back?
My concern with yesterday was what happened to Russell's car all the sudden?
He was leading but then you can tell he was having issues while battling with Lewis then suddenly you see him drop off and pit.
Heard the announcer mention something about an issue with water not getting to the engine so they had to bring it in straight away or it could of blown up.
That sounded quite serious especially during a live race and you would think they would of seen this sort of issue during practice or even qualifying.
But as P1 Matt & Tommy had mentioned during their overview podcast of the race last night, as soon as the rain started coming down he was having problems controlling the exact same car while Hamilton was actually loving the slick conditions.

McLaren had both qualifying in the bag and the race yesterday but completely bottled it with those critical errors from their decisions made by the team.
They had the drivers and the cars but it seems they are making these terrible executions the same as Ferrari are known to do.
Could be a under pressure problem where the Mercedes team are all accustom to at this point with a veteran driver as Sir Lewis Hamilton.

Seems like the UK soil do wonders for the UK guys.

I dont know what is happening on Ferrari backwards, but man being surprased by a HAAS has to be very embarrassing. One alst thing, Checo Perez do you really extend your contract?
After today with Perez ended up in 17th many are saying Hungary could be it.
Maybe Red bull can buyout his contract even before he gets to the track.
Haas is doing better now than most teams and remember hearing during the FP3 that he will be going to Audi and a familiar young driver will be making a reappearance in F1.
Remember who that was and made quite the debut on the track driving with these old timers?

Sour grapes for Alpine with Gasly DNF and it was looking like he didn't want to be out there from the very beginning of the race. As he knows what his team is looking like at the moment and with Ocon.
This news article explains about what is going on with Ocon but also with that young driver I was talking about previously aswell:
https://racingnews365.com/ocon-does-not-wait-for-sainz-choice-and-signs-contract-with-f1-team
But Esteban could be leaving sooner than we thought and not going to wait until the end of the season it seems and sign on with Williams mid-season:
https://www.crash.net/f1/news/1051952/1/rumoured-mid-season-driver-swap-esteban-ocon-and-williams
But this sounded like a far off rumor until what is stirring with Logan Sargent making a move aswell.
So there might be some truth to all this. Especially the way Gasly unceremoniously ended his day on the track.

Also a huge congratulations to Lewis Hamilton with winning his 9th race on his home track setting a record with this feat done today.
Doing it at the age of 39 was quite the achievement for him with the competition he was facing today with Verstappen snapping on his heels right up until the end of the British Grand Prix.

British Grand Prix is just around the corner and between the three top drivers it is a coin flip of who will come out on top. As you can see Verstappen and Norris are exactly the same odds:
~

I am thinking Lewis Hamilton could take it and the @5.00x hadn't changed since I was looking at those odds for the winners market right after qualifying.
Verstappen was a slight favorite @2.95x while Norris was a solid @3.00x.
Race pole position setter Russell was @4.25x but has risen abit since.

https://x.com/F1/status/1809662635039719720

Only 30 minutes left! A really interesting start is waiting for us.  Smiley  Verstappen will look for hunting down at least one driver there. I hope Norris doesn't get overtaken by him already. I feel like Russell - Hamilton will come side by side and one of them will lose a place there already.

Hamilton said that they were going to do their best to keep Norris behind but he didn't say who will do that job.  Tongue  I expect an attack by him for sure if Russell doesn't have a good start.

It is 2.90 for NOR - VER now. I'm supporting Norris here but I believe it is sensible to give Mercedes drivers a chance too. Because a really heated race is waiting for us.  Cool

And we have a top 3 full of British drivers by the end of qualifying!  Grin

Source: https://x.com/F1/status/1809609895379104207

What an amazing result for British people without a doubt. As of the end of Q1 it could already be predicted that Mercedes would have a good result. However this was more than I and probably anyone expected to tell the truth.

Another pole for Russell? He is one of the drivers with the highest form recently.  Smiley  He feels really satisfied with the car and he is just showing what he can do with a fast car.

Norris couldn't make use of his last chance well. Verstappen looked like he was having concentration issues. He made 2 simple mistakes which caused him to take only the 4th place at the end. The start tomorrow is going to be lovely, I can feel it.  Grin

I think this week Norris is the favourite for pole position and the race win for the first time, I've already placed my bets on Superbru and qualifying will start soon. Verstappen will have a very tough time this weekend, I don't think he will dominate at Silverstone.
Excellent assumption Koal-84!
The Dutchman was fifth in this latest session and qualifying is up next!

Looks like it was an all England Practice 3 session with the top 3 being Englishmen at the British Grand Prix!

Now if they just advance in the Euro in the early match today then it will setup for a spectacular weekend in sports for the Brits.
