San Antonio beat this team 111-85 in Phoenix back in April. You’d have to think that is fresh in the Suns mind still. Yes, the Spurs need this game, however Phoenix still has a shot at the #1 seed here, as there are two regular season games left and the Suns own the tiebreaker vs the Jazz should they be tied at the end of the season – Also keep in mind the Suns need one victory to reach 50 on the season which would be a monumental accomplishment for a team that has been in the dumpster for years. Chris Paul has brought a lot of leadership and experience with him to Phoenix and everything is starting to gel for them as they likely do not have a letdown here, and with the revenge from getting blown out earlier this year and trying to reach 50 wins and needing to simply win the next two games to obtain the #1 seed, look for the Suns to roll today.

I believe LA Galaxy are the better team and they are coming off a great win against rivals LAFC and I don't see them having a letdown in this spot as Austin FC is an expansion team but one that has turned heads so far this season. Austin FC hasn't played a home game yet this year and this will be their fifth straight road game so we see a little bit of fatigue coming into play in this contest. LA Galaxy are among the best teams in the league this year and staying at the top would require them to win games such as these against inferior opponents.

Denver has averaged 116.6 ppg over their last 5 games and they have shot 48.9% as a team on the road this season. Denver has also shot 37.9% as a team from beyond the arc on the road this season and they just held Minnesota to shooting 42.5% against them while also outrebounding them by 10 in that 11-point victory. As far as the standings go this game means nothing as both teams have locked in their seeding heading into the playoffs. The Jets are 2-29 on the powerplay the last 11 games and the Leafs are 2-23 on the powerplay their last 9 games. Both teams will want this corrected before heading into the playoffs and will need some offense on the powerplay to get some confidence. The Jets have lost the last 7 games at home vs Toronto and are just 3-6 against them this year, so I look for them to be an active dog with some revenge. The Jets come off a game where they shut out the Canucks so I expect them to have a let down defensively against a potent Leafs offense. The Leafs come off a loss to the Senators in OT, so you know they will be looking to come away with a win before heading into the playoffs. I think both teams will want to head into the playoffs in good form, with some confidence on the offensive end, hence we like this one to go over. Over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Winnipeg.

Boston ended their three-game losing streak in rousing fashion, whipping Oakland 8-1. They should continue to hit against Griffin Canning, who has an ERA of 6.0 on the road in four starts and he’s backed by a truly terrible bullpen. Boston starter Nick Pivetta is having the best stretch of his career at 5-0 (Red Sox 6-1), with a sharp 3.19 ERA. The Angels have scored nine runs in their last four outings and average only 3.9 RPG on the road. With the Halos 22-57 vs. an AL starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.30 or lower, back Boston.

The Cavaliers snapped their 11 game losing streak last time out, beating the Celtics who had a horrible night shooting the rock. Boston was in a tough spot but Washington has yet to wrap-up a play-in spot and will look to get rid of the Cavs as soon as possible. Washington won the two 2021 matchups, covering tonight’s number in both and scoring 122 and 119 points making nearly 50% of their shots. The Cavs have been pretty bad on the defensive end up until the win over Boston. Washington forced 43 turnovers in the two games combined, while committing just 22, themselves. I expect more of the same tonight. I’m backing the Wizards on Friday.

Toronto has players out all over the place here and Chicago has been playing good defense their last 10 games, 3 out of their last 4 games held opponents to Under 100 points and they are 4th in overall defense in the NBA in those last 10 games if you break it out, which I have. The pace of play stat is a key one when capping totals, and these two play at some of the slowest paces in the NBA, 24th and 28th overall. Toronto will struggle to score; every star is out and they do not care. Chicago will do what they have to win, they are almost a 10-point fav at this point. Chicago can and will dictate pace here. I do not see Toronto scoring 100 point here.

Boston starter Garrett Richards is extremely talented with elite level velocity and spin rates throughout his career. Richards had to deal with some lengthy injuries in the past and though he was healthy last season he still wasn't 100% after missing nearly all of the 2019 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He started off this season slow but Boston pitching coach Dave Lewis tightened up his delivery a few starts back and since then he's been great with a 2.84 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 22 strikeouts to go with just 2 walks in his last three starts. The veteran right-hander faces off here against an Oakland A's offense that has been bad this year against RHP ranking 28th in the league with just a .207 team batting average.

On the other side of things the Oakland A's counter with starter Sean Manaea in this one. Manaea is a crafty left-hander who's been helped out by the fact he's a fly ball pitcher who's pitched half the games in his career in pitcher friendly Oakland Coliseum. That won't be the case here though pitching in Fenway Park and as a lefty as southpaws tend to get hit hard in this park (a top ten offensive park in EACH of the past 7 seasons). Making matters worse for Manaea is the fact he's going up against a very good Boston Red Sox offense that ranks in the top 4 in the league in team batting average, slugging percentage and OPS.

The White Sox have dominated the first two games of this series, winning 9-3 and 13-8. I think that they will get the sweep here this afternoon. Chicago is going with Lance Lynn and he has a 1.52 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. I think he will be good again in this spot. Chicago has won five straight and six of seven and they’ll keep this run going. The Twins have lost three straight and six of seven and they are just 12-22 on the season. Chicago has won three straight and five of six in this series and they are playing much better right now. The Twins are just 7-20 in their last 27 games overall and are 1-5 in their last six games in Chicago. The White Sox are 27-10 in their last 37 home games and they are 37-18 in their last 55 games as a home favorite. Take Chicago here.

Manchester United have many attackers that can give Liverpool fits here. They have been in fantastic form offensively, particularly Cavani, who we think likely still starts here. Man U hasn’t been beaten in their last seven home games vs Liverpool. Liverpool has had many chances recently, however, have not been able to finish consistently. This will probably be a long, drawn out, defensive match which could very well end nil-nil or a draw. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quoted as saying - Of course we know what Liverpool has done. That is a challenge for us to move up the table and challenge Many City as well. The title is technically still alive for the Red Devils, although they would need a miracle for it to happen. Still, I like Man U to hang tough here.

What we have here is a Minnesota team that is starting to gel and be healthy at the right time. Sure, this team is not going to the playoffs, but this game means a lot for this team as the coaching staff is trying to show, along with the GM that this roster can win and can win big if healthy. So, with Towns scoring 10 straight games of 21 points or more, Russell back healthy and dropping 27 points in his last game, Edwards competing for Rookie of the Year and will likely show out here, and what you have here is a conglomerate of things working in their favor for a big win. The Timberwolves just beat Orlando by 20+ points, they do care about this game and though the Pistons have a couple of young players such as Bey and Saban Lee playing hard with the possibility of Plumlee coming back, it is likely not going to be enough here. Look for Minnesota to continue to play hard from the onset for a likely double-digit winner today.

I understand that Philly comes off back to back losses - but so do the Nationals. Anderson has given up 20 hits for the Phillies in 16 innings over 4 starts and though he did beat Milwaukee 5-4, it is hard to ignore the fact he might be getting a bit lucky. Remember, he gave up 9 walks in his last 3 starts as well so that is 24 baserunners in 13 innings. Fredde comes of his worst start of the year giving up 5 runs in 5 innings and the last time he did that was in his first start when he gave up 6 innings in less than 2 innings and then boom - he came back with back to back great starts of 1 run in a quality effort on both starts. Note, the Nationals would have won both games against the Yankees this weekend if not for their closer Hand who blew it late but he is a good pitcher and he will bounce-back here as he came over from the Indians for a reason and look for Washington to put it all together for a solid win here.

The seeding has already been determined and these two teams will meet up in round 1 of the playoffs. Neither team will want to show all their cards here today but the Bruins are in much better shape injury wise then the Capitals. The Capitals come in decimated with injuries right now and a lot of their key players. I think they come into this game just trying to keep everyone healthy for game 1 of the playoffs. The Bruins come in playing excellent hockey at the right time as they come in with a 12-3-1 record since the middle of April. They will want to carry those good vibes and confidence into the playoffs and finish the season on a positive note. Despite the injuries we are already seeing over 70% of the public on Washington which makes for a great public fade. We will take the healthier team who is playing better as of late. Take the Bruins on the road to get it done. Bruins are 12-4 in their last 16 overall.

Crystal Palace is safe from relegation. They travel to Southampton to take on the former Premier League leaders. Hard to believe Southampton led the EPL at one point this year considering their current form. The Saints are winless in their last five matches, and to top it off, Danny Ings will still be out tomorrow. Crystal Palace could be putting in McCarthy, Riedewald, Mateta, Dann and Ayew at this point, after securing top-flight status. In fact, rotation can probably be expected by both teams as both coaches look to avoid injuries. Palace beat the Saints earlier this season 1-0, and in a game that both teams honestly do not care about much, we can easily see a scoreless or tied game at the end of full time, therefore ww will take the half goal with Crystal Palace.

What you have here is a Houston team that is likely to be a fantastic underdog today. This is a Houston team that always gets up to face elite teams right? Think about it. This team beat Milwaukee at home outright, and when you are not going to the playoffs, is it not better to face playoff teams and bust their chances at playoffs or stay relevant against elite teams by just competing hard against them - and not caring about subpar teams. It is generally psychology to get up for the better teams and to not care as much for the mediocre teams. Houston for example, beat Portland by 3 in January, Portland has revenge, will want to drop a ton of points here and Houston also put up 116 at Utah and covered, they put up 133 against Milwaukee and covered, 116 against Denver and covered and the list goes on. I think Houston will be a fantastic underdog today and I like this game to go Over and I like Portland with the revenge as well to push the tempo as this game likely goes Over.

This is going to take some guts to make this selection but I am going with the Under today. What you have here are two pitchers that really need to come through. We actually think the Reds will likely do well today as well so keep an eye on them. You have a Boston and Baltimore team that have gone under in 2 of 3 games thus far, and Perez rolls in having lost back to back games now so he has to come through for Bean town and of course the Boston fanbase who can be brutal. Perez gave up 6 hits in 5.2 innings in his last effort which is a bit high for him actually, as the last time he gave up 7 hits against the Whitesox, immediately in his next game he gave up 4 hits to Seattle. He has been a veteran a long time and understands that he has to come through here and he likely will. Plus, Jorge Lopez got hammered by these Redsox last time giving up 7 runs in 4 innings (8 hits and 1 walk), so that is 9 baserunners in 4 innings last time around back on April 11th. But, he has come around the last 2 games, giving up just 3 runs in 9 innings to Seattle and the Yankees. The last time he faced a similar situation like against the Yankees he gave up 4 runs in 4.2 innings, and immediately had a solid bounce-back holding them to 2 runs in 4 innings for a solid 4-3 win for Baltimore (that total by the way was at 9 as well) - and we think this contest ends in a similar fashion of 5-3 for one team or another, as we are not sure who can win as Baltimore has a solid chance of winning today which is why they are just a +120 dog, but we like the Under more importantly today.

Pirates are playing good ball and they were our 7 Unit Play, yesterday, but they don't match up well with the Reds. The Big Red Machine has a stacked offense this year and, though they haven't shown it as much lately, look for it to breakout against the weaker and injured Pirates. The Pirates first base slugger, Moran, is still injured with a groin injury from Saturday's game and Votto, for the Reds is out, as well, so those two even out, but the rest of the Pittsburgh lineup doesn't match up at all and the Reds should roll today, with Jeff Hoffman on the mound and against Mitch Keller's 6.29 ERA.

Fulham is almost out of hope to escape relegation but I’m sure they’ll take every gamble and chance to win this match. At the same time, if Fulham was able to exercise a small miracle and win a couple of matches and escape the bottom three, the team they’d catch would be Burnley, so it’s not like Burnley doesn’t have something to play for also. I expect Fulham to take too many chances on the offensive end which should leave them open to odd-man attacks at the other end. Fulham is 1-6-1 in its last eight matches and have just three wins in its last 26. They’ve lost four in a row at home where they’ve won just one of their last 10. In fact, Fulham has been held scoreless in nine of its last 12 home matches. I’m backing Burnley on Monday.

The Blazers have won two in a row and are looking to make a play for the five seed in the playoffs. Portland only sits one game behind the Mavs for that spot and they took care of business against the Lebronless Lakers last night to pull one game ahead of the defending champs for sixth. This last week and change is going to be an absolute war to stay out of the play in game and the way things are looking it will be Portland or Dallas with the Lakers fading fast. Dame has been a monster all season, but this time of year brings out the best in him so look for the Blazers to get anther win in this one behind a classic Dame performance.
